The m12 charger doesn’t charge the battery all the way up. I compared the Milwaukee m12 charger with an after market charger, with same 3ah battery. I came to a full charge on Milwaukee then threw it on the aftermarket and it kept charging for 15 minutes. This shows that Milwaukee cuts off the charge in attempts to save the battery. The Milwaukee m12 standard charger sucks.
I like to pin like that out in the garage. Tell the wive I’m working on projects and I just rapid fire pins into scrap wood. Then I run my finger over it and admire how flush they are. It’s the only penetration going on in my life.
Absolutely never have I had an M12 battery fall out or even come close to it. Infact I'd argue that some tools are almost too difficult to remove. Sounds like they got a broken tool or a broken battery or both.
@@joellerue850 that would be a great idea,, but creating heat and running a fan might be too much to ask from a little battery,, but that tech is soaring through the roof now so who knows
While I agree that having the dual (m18 + m12) charger included in everything would be the best case scenario, it also really annoys me how big the m12 charger is. I feel as though if you are going to include the m12 only charger at least provide some more tangible benefits to using it such as a slimmer profile/footprint or something, or maybe let you charge two m12 batteries at the same time. Something like that would at least redeem it a bit as far as I am concerned.
Just because you set the gun and it's just sinking the nails and a few don't sink in that can just be the wood itself because different spots in the woods it's going to be stronger or weaker that's because it's a natural products great video have a great Sunday to all
Pin nailers are great for small wood projects and trim/baseboard work. I’m a first-time home owner and have been absolutely shocked how handy these things are. Currently using a pneumatic nailer and very interested in this one so that I dont have to lug a loud compressor and 10ft of tubing around for these little projects.
Glad to see it has more depth adjustment. Have the 16 gauge and with 2.5” nails at full depth they still stick up proud. And the recoil causes the depth adjustment to move. I hope that’s not the case with his gun. The 18 gauge gen 2 doesn’t have any of those problems. - Jacob
I owned the one-handed recip Saw made by Ridgid and returned it because the battery kept falling off and bought the M12 fuel one handed recip saw and I cut through thick Steel all day 2 3 days out the week and I have never had a my battery pop off my battery is never popped off my stubby nor my ratchet nor my oscillating tool nor my rotary tool I actually switched to this platform because the battery stay in place so well can't wait to get my hands on that pin nailer loving it Vince keep up the good work
I have absolutely no need for a pin nailer right now but I'm thinking of every reason to get one. Just grabbed the M18 Brad nailer and I'm hooked. No more stretching an air line through the window or cracked open door of a customers house because they dont want the compressor running inside. Milwaukee is really killing it and I'm glad I went with their system over some of the other ones. Nothing wrong with running a Dewalt or Ryobi but there's something about Big Red that just works for me
I been buying nothing but milwaukee tools for years now. Still will despite their little flaws but yes . picked up the m12 buzzer for xmas and yes first week if using it it was stopping mid way use. Couldnt figure out what it was. Couldnt even remove the battery. For the entire week i couldn't figure it out. Finally decided to start hitting the back of the battery thinking i hadnt installed the battery fully in(doubtful but had to figure it out) that did it but i realized in order to work i had to hit it harder than i wanted to. I love and take care of all my tools 18+ years in construction thisnis the first time ive ever had to do this to any of my tools. , metabo, hitachi, nothing. Havent had any issues with them. Milwaukee did let me down in that aspect. However now im not even worried if the tool stops working anymore. I dont mind. Frankly cant remember the last time i had to fix it . but i know uf it does happen again. All i gotta do is slam it against the ground and we're good to go.
I’ve only used Milwaukee sense 2012 exclusively. I have not had a problem with the battery’s at all except after 6 years a batty will go bad so great tools
I love the m12 line. Been using them daily for years. I have one battery with a broken tab and that’s the only battery I’ve ever had come out of a tool while using it.
I've never had a problem I know my father he basically using only M12 unless he takes something from me but I've never heard a battery jumping out matter of fact sometimes taking the M12 3.0 battery out of some tools I really have to grab the battery and pull on it to release it

I've had it happen with the oscillating tools, original and fuel, but no other M12 tool. I actually disassembled the cases, and put a little more bend in the clip that helps retain them, it happens less frequently.
100% agree. I have at least a dozen M12 tools, and an equal number of M18 tools. I can honestly say I use my M12 tools more often and love them all. My solitary gripe with them has always been how difficult it usually is to remove the batteries (for the record, I have Popeye-forearms) I’m sure that the attempt to keep the batteries as small and lightweight as possible contributes to the non-mechanical latches, but I really hope Milwaukee eventually comes out with a better option.
I think it’s people that beat their tools. Me and my coworker both use Milwaukee stuff now and he’s more throw my tools in the back guy while I own a whole packout setup and take care of my stuff. He’s gone through two m12 oscillating tools and now his m18 oscillating is going out. The m12 he wrecked 3 batteries and now the oscillating tool won’t really hold them in meanwhile my first m12 oscillating tool is still like new same amount of use. Personally love the m12 line wish I bought sooner.
Ive had zero problems with m12 batteries falling out. Love the new m12 fuel oscillating tool. Thing is a beast. Definitely excited about this new pin nailer.
In my opinion, this is a good solution if you are into the Milwaukee M12 platform. I own a pin nailer that Ryobi makes and it's an excellent pin nailer that looks oddly the same as this one but of course takes the Ryobi batteries. This is probably the same inner workings since it is not fuel. I found a price for it at $249 for the kit with the battery for the Milwaukee. I can actually buy a new Ryobi pin nailer kit and have money left over to get a second battery and some pins. I have been waiting for this pin nailer to come out but now am disappointed with the price since I wanted to complete my change over to Milwaukee tools. I love Milwaukee tools but man do they empty your wallet for that name.
@jami w part of me was speaking stubbornly because I'm sure in the future that Penn Miller will go on sale and I'll just pick it up, LOL. I always have problems buying anything full retail when I know that it doesn't cost most companies that price to manufacture anything. If it's the same company and it's the same or similar design they can at least lower the price for pre-order so they get the product in the market and people to talk about it more. Instead they launched the tool full price because they know you will pay for a name.
Like most people complained, same as me the battery slot is the problem, I have only used my osc few times and that thing started popping off, kinda wish they change the mechanism of battery locking system for it, its a bendable plastic, no spring or lock in clip etc, it will eventually happen even if you didnt have this problem because its just straight plastic clip, over all I still love m12 units.
I'm a 1st year carpenter looking into different career paths and finishing Carpentry is on the mind too. Really I want to do everything that being said I'm considering buying into the M12 line.
I've been a plumber since 1998 and used Milwaukee the entire time, until last week. I am tired of using 10 mil tape to keep my batteries from falling out. I gave the 12v Skil platform a try and so far so good. Their 12v tools are handling all my 12v needs. I haven't switched yet from the 18v Milwaukee tools though for the tougher tasks.
I’ve had a battery shakeout of a sawzall and it was a defective battery. Other than that the m12 batteries stay in just fine for me, actually once in a great while I have a hard time getting them out.
Need to see it and compare it to the Hitachi 18 volt pin nailer, its pretty small for Hitachi. We ran hoseless for a year straight with 3 Hitachi battery framing guns. These battery nailers are making a lot of progress.
The only time I’ve had issue with m12 batteries popping out was after dropping the tool and if that battery has been dropped a few times it will pop out of the multi tool but as I said I’ve dropped my tool on accident a few times so I don’t blame Milwaukee I blame the user
Actually really happy its in the m12 line. Love the stapler! Absolute masterpiece! This thing will replace my workzone battery compressor i have just for running a pin nailer 😁
I believe the battery comments to be written by trolls for the most part. Perhaps there have been some isolated cases of this really happening but in my professional experience using M12 Milwaukee tools, the batteries never fall out, and to be honest, I often have trouble getting the battery to release from a few of my tools. Especially the M12 Hacksawll.

And or the clamshell of the tool itself my m12 fuel sawzall has had a few falls from ladders and the handle slightly is separated and battery vibrates out every so often no bog deal tho
If it is anything like the stapler, I'll be buying. Sometimes , the battery won't seat and lock in proper on some m12 tools, which could allow the fall out. You get spoiled with m18 and positive battery lock in.
Full bore into something solid while pivoting the tool and bumping another solid object with the blade, will eject the battery from Fuel multi-tool. Obviously when it’s happened to me it was a complete accident. I never meant for it to happen. But it’s happened at least 3 times.
I have a coworker who has the fine tool where you have to hold the battery for it to work, tho I'm not sure if he has dropped it before, the batter shaking lose is a true tale
Jon, I don’t know... There has to be a logical reason to take a step back in technology. Maybe it was too powerful with a brushless motor. There could’ve been some liability issues with regards to that, since no contact pressure is needed to shoot a brad, just hold the safety lever down, the pull the trigger. My Ridgid 23 Gauge Pin Nailer works in the same exact manner. Bizarre...
@@martylucas8557 this might be the most logical reasoning, same as their m18 palm sander. Seems a brushed motor is adequate for low torque applications where the added expense of a brushless motor doesn’t make sense.
Hay Vince, The Fuel 12V hacksaw will drop the battery if there is to much vibration. I have had to send the tool in for a warranty claim do to that issue. It is still a great tool just be careful with the vibration and binding up the blade. Just as a side note. The German Metabo reciprocating 18V will drop the battery if there is to much vibration. I should add that I was cutting a tree down with the Metabo LOL !!!!
I know Im not part of the very cool gang, but I just wanted to say I have put at least a few hundred hours on my m12 multi tool, never once had an issue with battery's. Same with any of my other m12 tools. On the other hand my father is an auto mechanic and he has had the batteries wear out and fall out of his m12 ratchet and stubby impact. Thats all I know about batteries falling out, take it or leave it
Even with my older batteries (using M12 system since 2013) I have only had them pop out from a drop of 6 ft or more! Even the worn packs with their "black caps" missing, never had a problem.
I’ve had the exact opposite problem with the m12 multi tool. Never had one fall out but the 2.0s are hard to take out, especially when drywall dust is involved.
I got on the m12 platform from makita just because of the soldering iron. Soon that evolved to the Fuel impact, Fuel Hammer drill, original oscillating tool, Fuel oscillating tool, cut off tool, rotary tool, Fuel hack saw, right angle drill, jig saw, etc. and I've only had the battery coming loose problem with the NON FUEL oscillating tool.
I haven't seen the 23 gauge Milwaukee pin nailer for sale in the Canadian market as yet, so I'm wondering what our price will look like. I own the RYOBI AirStrike 18 gauge, 18 volt brad nailer which sells here for $149.00 (bare tool) and I've been pleasantly surprised by it's performance. RYOBI really got the AirStrike tools right. The 18 guage Milwaukee sells here for $574.00 . The RYOBI 23 Gauge pin nailer here is $178.00 (bare tool) -- higher price than the 18 guage. If Milwaukee tries to sell the 23 gauge pinner for a similar price to their 18 gauge nailer, or more, they might as well leave it in Milwaukee.
I’ve had problems with the m12 multi-tool oscillating tool. (Not fuel), but sent it to Milwaukee warranty (the service is amazing) and they just sent me a brand new one.
I'm not very cool or a gang member but my M12 multi-tool started spitting out batteries with in six months. I recently replaced it with the fuel version because it fell out of my hand as hard as could on the concrete after the thousandth time of stopping from the battery coming out. Never had that problem with any other M12 tools though and I use almost the entire line.
Agreed.. got the 18g Brad for base this could Def help me out finish work wise on crown... probly go bare tool got the rapid charger screw the supercharger I bleed red and also on the 18/ too many 12v batts platform ... impressive... set it rite no caulk or spackle needed just paint... this nd c.a. glue beautiful turnout...
I love the M12 line I have all Dewalt tools and still use M12 staple gun my favorite tool and never have problems with m12 batteries except the oscillating tool
The battery problem might be a cold thing I've had it happen to similar Bosch batteries the tabs that lock the battery in snapped on two Bosch batteries. I'm in New Brunswick Canada it gets as cold as -40 Celsius here and I used to keep them in the van then bring them into a +30 Celsius house.
I have M12 tools they haven't done that but I work indoors mostly now and don't store my tools in a van anymore. I only used M18 tools back then and had a Bosch multi oscillating tool that still works fine 10 years later now.
Hi Vince! In response to your questions... I’ve never had an issue with M12 batteries coming out or falling out of any M12 tool. I have about 25 M12 batteries, ranging from 2 amp to 6 amp and quite a few Fuel and non-Fuel M12 tools. If anything...I have trouble getting batteries out, not falling out! I’d say this person complains is probably a troll. Man have I been waiting for this tool! I just got the M18 Gen 2 Fuel 18 Gauge Brad Nailer about a month ago! Wow! I thought I’d never get rid of my compressor and air guns. I have a nice assortment of Bostitch and a Ridgid 23 Gauge Pin Nailer. With the M12 Pin Nailer, I’d be pretty well set! The only thing Infind really bizarre is the tool being non-Fuel, it’s like a big step back in motor technology, even if a brushed motor can get the job done, just think how much more a Fuel version would yield. The only thing I can think of is maybe it was too powerful with the Fuel motor. Maybe it became a lethal weapon shooting 1 3/8” 23 gauge Brad nails through oak boards at 50’. There has to be a good reason. Maybe you can make an inquiry to your Milwaukee rep for us??
I'll admit I don't have a ton of experience with M12. I just have a hammer drill and one battery. My other tools are Ryobi, but I'm planning on getting more M12. I'll say I've never had any issue with the battery falling out. If anything, it seems a little difficult to take out at times. Great video!
I got all excited when I saw this video. I have a home project installing baseboard and thought "Great! A new tool to AND a reason (to provide to my wife😁) to buy it👍" Can't find this anywhere but I guess Q1 2021 isn't over yet😭
The only problem I’ve had with the m12 batteries were the black casing falling off my drill gun. That mainly was due to using the butt of the gun to hammer in plastic grommets after I used a concrete bit to drill the pilot hole. The battery itself always stayed in
There may never be a fuel of this, it uses so little intermittent power for each firing. I have a brushed Hitachi and it runs forever, but nails proud too often, milwaukee has a hyperextended plunge to overcome this in their brad nailers, I assume this pinner will do the same.

I pretty much exclusively use Milwaukee M12 tools. 11 years systems furniture installation. My M12 fuel hammer has been run over by a 5 ton truck and runs fine after 6 years. To reference your point about the batteries coming out, it has happened to me but only on my clutsy moments where I drop the tool and the force knocks the battery out. I notice it a lot with the flashlights. It kinda goes with my only real complaint with the M12 in that the tabs that hold the battery in can break very easily. I've had to order in replacement tops for my 6 amp three times. Otherwise Milwaukee tools are the best I've had so far. Used to be a DeWalt guy and Bosch before that but I went Milwaukee and haven't looked back.
Battery fallout: If you use the m12s outside or in cold, over time the temp changes reduce how “flexible/bendy” the black clip levers are and they can stop springing back out in order to hold firmly. Especially if your batteries are beyond a few years old, just the repeated pressure of pulling them out can wear out these levers. I’d love to see Milwaukee design a replacement battery clip or add a spring mechanical mechanism.
I wish this was true. In fact, I was was so excited I went and bought one and the stupid plastic broke within a week. I feel like it’s “stronger” plastic but more brittle. So sad. 😢
I’ve reverted back to pneumatic trim nailers but? This little guy now.....I see a fit. An aside here: I have had a problem with the battery disconnecting on my M12 multi tool and what I had to do to remedy this was two fold. Get out of the habit of having the rear of the tool within my ‘pull motion’ grip and? Taking my pocket knife to ever so slightly bend back the securing prong down by the battery connection terminals in the tool itself. Now? The issue is rare. No way in hell do I want to give up on the massive strengths in that competent little tool! It’s ULTRA smooth for finish cutting, fits up between studs within finished walls, and the simplicity in keeping it with you trumps ‘biggly’. (Come on....it just fitting perfectly in that putty knife pocket in your work jeans is a big deal alone.) The new Fuel version is impressive but? Courser motion it has, and the easier ergonomics are missed....it’s real completion is with the larger (and competent ) M18’s, and glad I fixed ‘before I bitched’ with that M12 real deal multi.
Never had a problem with my m12 batteries that are newer. but I do have one that’s about 5 years old and it does get loose sometimes. It has never popped all the way out tho so overall I would say the quality control is pretty awesome
Never had a issue with the battery coming out but it is tricky to get the batteries out of the m12 rocket light. But Thk u for this! I love Milwaukee tools and have a few m18 items but venturing more and more into the m12 stuff. This nailer will be mine sooner than later
