Todays video review features the new Milwaukee USB REDLITHIUM 3.0 AH Battery. I put this battery to the test in some Milwaukee gloves and the ROVER 550 Lumens Pivoting Flood Light. I compare this new battery against the previous 2.5 AH battery.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you have any Milwaukee USB lights or heated gloves? How's do you like it and do you have any backup batteries?

Huge Milwaukee supporter. Thanks for the review. Just purchased 2 of the 3.0 batteries, I have the headlamp as well as the magnetic stick light, called the "Rover". I enjoy them both equally but get terrible run time on HIGH mode. I usually operate low mode just fine, but intermittent with the head lamp. But in tight confinement the helmet usually gets set aside and a rover has great precision lighting. I'm all for the back up batteries. Recently considering a small portable USB power bank to plug in and charge the device in a 2nd rover, the Special Buy for 60 dollars has 2 additional 2.5 Ah plus the Rover. It's what I would charge the additional batteries in. Rather than buying the M12 power pack. Thanks again!

I got the headlamp and I use it daily working on semis and dump trucks. I have an extra battery but I can use it all morning and put it on charge at lunch and use it the rest of the day. Going to have to upgrade to this 3.0 this weekend. Nice video.

Great video. I have the rover bar and headlight. Both great products. I’m definitely going to buy the pivoting light and 3.0 usb and compact charger combo soon. I think Milwaukee goofed big time not allowing the usb line to charge while being used.

I've had the USB Rover Pivoting Flood Light since it first came out, uses it often and it is the best little work light I have ever owned! Have their new 1100 Lumen USB flashlight on order, and it comes with the new 3 amp-hour battery. I'm probably going to end up buying a 2nd 1100 lumen USB flashlight, and sometimes I wish I had a 2nd Rover pivoting flood light to light a project from two different angles, to minimize shadows on my work.

I have that flashlight and plan on featuring it in a video this week. It's my absolute favorite flashlight so far. The end gets a little warm, but the function of everything else and the fit & finish is amazing!

I really like the rover a lot too !!!! I have about 4 of them , be careful with some of them.....they are prone to having loose caps. I've lost two caps using the carabineer , using it to hang off of my plumbing bag. Great vid comparing the difference and what you're getting for your money.
@MarkThomasBuilder

Thanks for the tip! I haven't lost my cap yet, but I'll keep an eye out. I'm currently testing the Milwaukee 1100 lumen flashlight with the adjustable beam. It's amazing too, if you're looking for a tactical style flashlight.

Menards sells a wand type led two way, (small tip and 4" led strip) uses four AA. I used rechargeable which give it plenty of power plus. $5! goes for hours.

Just to clarify my last prior comment, I wanted to redact my statement about buying portable battery bank 😆 Just watched a review on the M12 power source, and it sounds like a practical decision for charging the backup cells. I'll be sticking with Milwaukee all around!

That Rover light is a very handy light. I never thought about using my M12 for charging the other cells. I charge my cell phone once in awhile with it though. Thanks for sharing the advice!

This is ONE of my Favorite Milwaukee Lights, but Milwaukee made so many different Lights to serve many different jobsites/purposes. i Wish this light Flips the Other way so the Carabiner side flips the Other way to protect the Led side. it'ld be a Slam Dunk if the Led side is protected by the carabiner side instead of being exposed when tuck away. And wish it had the SoS/strobe function on it. it just has the High/Lo settings. My Other Favorite Light is the Rover Light that looks like a Dog when the Swivel head opens up. You can put a 12.0 battery in there and work underneath the house/plumbing or underneath the car for extra brightness and longer runtime. The M12 Tripod Light is sooooo cool. Not very heavy compare to your M12 Rocket Light(almost 3x heavier). Brought with me on Fishing/Camping trips. The new Milwaukee 1100 Lumens flashlight also very cool. Has that Twist/Focus zoom head, 1/2" inch longer than their 700/800 flashlight. Wish it has the SoS/strobe ability. Great for hiking/biking, can mount on your Bicycle for night time mountain biking. A car's headlight on Low beam is 700 Lumens, on High beam it's 1,200 Lumens. This Light on High at 1,100 Lumens is almost similar to a Car's High beam, at Medium it's 600 Lumens, and low 100 Lumens. Was considering buying the Super bright flashlights but they're extremely Pricey, $250+ and up, and uses 4 e-cig batteries, such as the Nitecore, Manker, Olight, etc....But the runtime on those on TURBO Mode is like a couple minutes before dropping to High to prevent damage from Overheating. At $79, the Milwaukee 1,100 Lumens is well worth the $10 extra over their 800 Lumens, because of the extra brightness/twist focus ability.

I like the 1100 L flashlight. I never thought about a strobe feature, but could see a need for it on rare occasions. I haven't seen the super bright one yet. I'll have to look it up. Thanks!

I've been disappointed with the run time for these flood lights on regular usb batteries. Had no idea they came out with a new 3.0 version. Hopefully my run times are noticably improved.

I’ve been using the red lithium devices for years now, I had the pocket light, but the pocket clip kept breaking. I loved the carabiner flood light, with the magnetic base... but I left it somewhere... hope I find it. I also have several hard hat headlights, and the web head light. One kit came with a spare battery, and a charger... I wish the charger also had a power bank socket... oh well.

What your asking for regarding charge and run light. This is called pass-through charging. It’s fairly rare in battery-device tech - everyone wants for many devices but hardly available anymore. Old power source and devices used to do but it went away. I am guessing there is/was problems but not sure why.

Love Milwaukee but hate the proprietary batteries for these lights. Wish they'd just use 18650 or 21700. That's why for lights I mainly use fenix. But still have quite a few Milwaukee in use. The magnetic ones are definitely handly.

can AAA USB REDLITHIUM 3.0 AH batteries be used for non-Milwaukee products?
@MarkThomasBuilder
@MarkThomasBuilder 3 года назад
The Milwaukee Redlithium battery is bigger than a AAA or AA size. They're only made for Milwaukee products. I'm looking for rechargeable AA batteries for my new camera wireless mic setup. Project Farm on RU-vid did a nice comparison. I think Duracell is one of the best overall.

I have the Rover USB floodlight. And the 2115-21 flood head lamp. I also have 4 2.5 AH batteries. I've found that they have degraded very quickly with use. i e the run times have reduced for all of them. Has anyone had similar experiences.

Do these battery have a battery status gauge? That way if you have a bunch of batteries you don't have to wonder how much juice is each battery.

No, you can often get some type of battery status when you put it in the light. I don't recall if the heated gloves show the status.

What a rip. The price point is way too high for what you get. I bought a headlamp and it came with a 2.5 battery and I was immediately disappointed with the proprietary design. The dimensions are for an 18650 cell size battery that are plentiful around the globe at much lower prices. 25 bucks for a battery that lasts half or less than the 18650 batteries I already own is disappointing at best. My 5000mAh batteries are far superior, even at the 5 year mark this coming October. I wouldve much rather paid 49 dollars for a headlamp that uses 18650 batteries than be forced to buy a separate proprietary design that is sub standard to the quality I'm accustomed to. I've returned the milwaukee headlamp and will be looking for a more economical option using the commonly available and drastically less expensive 18650 battery. Their usb rechargeable 2.5 and 3.0 are a waste on their part. I wonder why they'd reinvent the wheel? Unless of course it meant huge profit margins and zero competition. ((To the content creator, I find your review to be bias for freebies and pandering to the manufacturer to get more.))

@MarkThomasBuilder 3 года назад
My all time favorite work light is the Milwaukee Rover Pivoting Flood Light and it uses this battery. I've said in previous videos that I wish it could run off a usb when the battery is drained, but the only option is to switch out the battery. I think the price of the battery is high, but it's worth it to me to get more run time and have a backup. If you know of a better clip light, let me know.
