We have always had Ham for Easter. I think it originated back in the day before refrigeration though, that was one of the few meats that was readily available at that time of year, I guess? I know they use to salt ham to preserve it so it would last through the winter when food was more scarce. I can only assume that's why they had it in early spring. I know why we celebrate Easter, but I'm not sure why it's prevalent to have ham on Easter these days. Just tradition, I guess.. I want so much to find these in stores soon. I know I won't get the rare, because I never get that lucky, but I still need the ham for my collection. Thanks for showing them. Hearing your excitement just makes me smile, and I love seeing the up close of them, just in case I don't get them myself.
Great video. My husband used to build these with our daughter. Now that she is 17 she's not into this anymore, but the other night I caught him building one of these by himself. So you can get a image. My husband and I met in Iraq as were were soldiers. He's now retired, I'm still in with 24 years. He very good looking and to see him you'd never think he's a novelist and action figure collector, let alone someone who hid his love for miniature things. All this time I thought he only built this with our daughter because she wanted to, and not because he, himself enjoyed it. Today I'm leaving a miniverse in a place I know he'll find.
Ham was a traditional Easter dinner meat due to it being one of the only meats what was hung and cured over fall/winter and was ready in the spring. I remember that when we were at my grandparents house for Easter, ham was always on the menu.
Ham is absolutely our Easter meal 🐰🐣 It's definitely a tradition for us in the south 😊 I love watching you make these. I just got my first set for Christmas & just finished putting them all together (got a multi pack thing lol)... Anyway now I need more & I want these & especially the Valentine's ones ❤❤❤
Aw, I wish you'd gotten one of the Wonka capsules. But the other three are super cute! The cupcakes are my favorite too, just adorable. ❤ I don't celebrate Easter so I don't know how common it is to have ham then, but personally I think ham is great for any holiday.
We always had ham for Easter. We had burgers and hot dogs for Memorial Day, the kickoff to summer barbecues, as well as July 4 and Labor Day, the farewell to summer. Thanksgiving was turkey. Christmas, either goose or duck, and New Year's varied between turkey or ham, depending on what my father wanted.
@@ccstoysandcreations It's a bit greasy, so roast it on a rack. Some people roast it breast down for part of the roasting process, then flip it for the last part to reduce the fat.
I think it’s your sweetness and positivity in your videos that has created a happy space for us in social media! I’m grateful for what you bring and the other viewers who choose positivity too!
I really enjoy your videos ☺️💕. You are such a sweet spirited soul 🥰. I must say that the Easter 🐣 basket 🧺 is my absolute favorite one. I truly hope that I can get it too😊. I was very surprised 😯 that we actually got to reveal the eggs colors. How exciting! It's just like we had decorated them ourselves except without the MESS.I LOVE IT!💗💞💖
We almost always had ham for Easter. I guess it became a tradition in our family. I always looked forward to Easter dinner. OMG!! That egg carton!!! It is so cute and my favourite colour!!! Those eggs are so magically awesome!!! I hope I get this! Aw heck, i want them all!!!
❤Yes my family has had ham for Easter every year 😋. Unless for some unfortunate reason we couldn't. Also deviled eggs are a food Americans have as part of the meal. 🥧 Pies are also conciderd a must😋🥰
My goodness you are so amazing with these. I like all of them, there just adorable. Thank you so much. I think people leave nice comments because your channel is so calming and your voice is so sweet. You just seem to be this genuine sweet kind person.
I’ve seen that people eat ham around Easter, but I don’t personally eat red meat. I don’t get why Miniverse didn’t do the turkey with the Halloween/Fall series then the ham for Christmas. That seems more common around Christmas than Easter, but who knows lol. 🤷🏻♀️
These are so adorable and I can't wait to see these in the stores. I hope I'm able to find them! The ham is too cute but im most excited about the basket and the cupcakes and of course the wonka bars! I love watching your videos with my daughter. We do miniverses together (I do all the work and she gets them to play with after, we have a shelf in her room with all of our creations and she enjoys them while she plays barbie) Anywho..we enjoy watching and can't wait for new miniverse videos from you and your husband 😂❤
Hello!! Hi to both of you! Thanks to both for your support! I hope you are able to find them soon :). I agree the basket, cupcakes and wonka awesome! It must be amazing to be able to create things for your daughter and have that in common! That is amazing! Your daughter will have these memories and when she gets older hopefully this is also she does with her children one day!
She asks if we can watch your videos while we decorate her favorites are when you and husband decorate! I think about that often. These stinking mini verses are everything
Congratulations on 10k that's amazing. I remember watching your very first video and you didn't even use the resin because you didn't have a UV light and it was dark outside so you didn't use it. I can't believe how far you have come. I love watching your videos every night before I go to bed they relax me and I've been doing that for the past year Again, congratulations.🎉❤🎉
Thank you for sharing Des, ever since I was young, we have always had the tradition of going to the park. I have never spent Easter with someone else to know maybe what others have for Easter but at the park we typically have a cookout with hamburgers, hotdogs steaks baked potatoes, salads, and something refreshing to drink.
My grandma always made a small leg of lamb but most of us didn't like it (we are Greek by heritage) so she always made a ham for Easter. I thought it was normal for Americans.
Hello CC, we really liked your video and this gave my team and I a video idea. Thank you for the idea, my team and I will do a Shoutout To you and your team. Thank you for your time 💗
Oh my goodness! Loved how well those tiny piping tips worked! Also, a real Wonka golden ticket hunt... I think I need to try and find some capsules lol.
me too :) i think i may miss these though lol i have bought 12 and no luck lol i have not seen them in stores either :) best of luck to you hope you find it!
You are so sweet!! I love cream cheese frosting too!! I wasn't really looking to get this set, but after watching your video I really want the eggs (they're sooooo cute) and even the ham is cute!!! My Aunt use to make Ham like this every Easter...(I really miss her) So thank you for helping me remember a happy time and Congrats on the 10k subscribers!!! that's awesome and I know some of my friends love your videos as much as I do, Yeah You!!!
I am very sorry that you missed your aunt. I did not know that Easter feasts included ham. I feel so bad for that. Typically my family goes to the park and we have a cookout so we have hamburgers. We have hotdogs, steak, baked, potatoes, salad, and maybe something refreshing.
Easter ham is an American tradition. I hope i get wll 3, but ESPECIALLY the ham!!! I ordered 3 capsules from LOL Surprise. I also ordered3 of the Valentine ones. I hope who ever fills my order is nice and gives me one if each and not all the same. None of the stores here have the seasonal ones 😢😭💔
As others have said, ham is traditionally served because it is a cured meat that could be kept for a long time. However in places where it gets warmer sooner like Greece and Italy, baby animals are born earlier and they serve roast lamb or sometimes veal. I love cream cheese frosting, my mother used to make it from scratch- this was back before there was canned frosting. Carrot cake is one of my favorites, too.
I want the Wonka one so bad but I keep thinking of the line in the original movie where Charlie Bucket's mom is talking real "when this contest is over he"ll be no different than the thousands of others who didn't find one" lol 🤣😭 great videos!
Me too but I do not think I’m going to get it to be honest but but it’s OK. If you do get it, please share pictures of it with me. I would love to see it.
@@ccstoysandcreations will do, I haven't gotten it yet but I did order a few more capsules. Still crossing my fingers. If it's not on there then I'm out lol
Kansas USA here. Honey glazed ham with pineapple cooked and glazed on top. Many ppl cook glazed carrots and onions along with them. Always have deviled eggs ya on Easter..I know silly.
Then the rest of the week was ham and cheese omelets, ham and scalloped potatoes, ham fried rice, ham and hash brown casserole and either for the weekend or in the freezer for later was the ham bone and what meat was still left on it and the left over carrots and onions. The beans would get soaked over night. Then in the morning mom would put the meaty ham bone, onions and the beans in a crock pot filled with water and let it cook all day on low then about an hour before dinner when the beans were done she would put the leftover carrots and onions from the pan that they and the ham were cooked in and all that great fond and drippings into the beans. While they was warming up she would get and meat still left on the done off to put in the beans. We ate it with honey cornbread and butter. Then while we ate that she took the ham bone, carrots, onions and turnips, if she could get them, in her big stock pot and get it to a simmer then turn it it stay at a simmer until she went to take a shower then turned it off. Before she went to bed she would put the whole big pot in the fridge. The next day she would simmer it again after she took off any of the fat that had hardened on the top. After she simmered it for a couple of hours she would strain it and put the broth in to these old tall square white like Tupperware freezer containers. And we would have ham broth for soups later. The fat off the broth she would use to cook eggs or add to spinach or green beans. Ppl always wonder why for a smaller family those ladies always got huge bone in hams. It was because they were cheap, especially the day or few after Easter and a decent sized one you could seriously make 10 meals for a family of four after Easter dinner. Mom would either make the meals and freeze half for later, cut/cube it and freeze it for later when she cut it up for whatever meal she was making or make 2 or 3 of the same meal and freeze the others to be cooked later. Saved her so much time and lots of money. It was not unusual to pick a huge ham after Easter for half price. Even cheaper than leg quarters and way cheaper than hamburger. At the time she could use .50 cents worth of ham, .50 cents for a 2 pound bag of beans, .25 each on a whole bag of onions and one of carrots. So for about $1.50 ( when Dad made a good wage of $6.00 an hour) and feed our family of four an easy 2 meals each with 2nds and bedtime hungries. Add in 4 boxes of jiffy honey cornbread mix for about $1.00 and $1.00 on an 18 pk of eggs. Makes it around $3.50 for 2 to 3 days of dinners and belly filler. If we had eggs and cornbread for breakfast that was literally less than $4 for 3 days worth of meals for us. If we ate lunch at school. You just couldn't beat that with any stick.
We’ve always had ham for Christmas and smoked brisket for Easter. We don’t use pineapple because I’m allergic! These are so cute. I can’t wait to get them.
I was thinking about getting a new UV light with a clamp since mine isn’t rechargeable and it’s not so strong. I just got the Miniverse kitchen where the UV light seems to cure everything much faster! ❤🎉
Hi I’m Mexican American both we grow up eating ham on Easter with the mash potatoes and a vegetable and biscuits. Traditional in my family to this day. In Xmas of course we do the tamales, champorado beans rice salsa. Lol
You just made me hungry! For Easter my family typically goes to the park. We have a cookout which has steaks baked potatoes. We have hamburgers, hotdogs we have salads. We have something refreshing to drink but your Christmas sounds amazing.
Ok, miniverse needs too cool it. There's way too many collections and it's getting overwhelming 😭. MGA always does this with all of their brands, it's kind of ridiculous imo. I also think when they do this the quality and creativity tends to go down... But that's just my opinion of course. I just find it incredibly overwhelming, it's hard to keep track of everything! And I absolutely love miniverse, and most everything from MGS, I just really wish they'd slow down with the collections😅
Congrats on the 10k, I've been following for several months and it soothes me to see you do these :) I especially love the challenges you do, Miniverse should hire you for new recipes :D
That’s interesting that you only got one cupcake ball out of 12 balls cause I ordered 6 balls and got five cupcakes and one ham…no baskets! You’d think since they are labeled on the outside that they could do a little better job when packing them. I don’t expect them to sit there and make sure we all get an even number of each, but they could at least make sure there’s at least one of each when there’s only three different labels.
Love your channel!! I hope we get these here I want the ham and the eggs lol. I live in NC and we have always had ham for Easter. not really sure why though lol. I remember those tv carts and movies. we did that too! well after watching the whole video i want them all!! just too cute!!
before there was refrigeration, ham was always cured and available year-round; it was likely all that was left in the larder before spring thaw and spring harvest. It is said to have typically been put up in the fall so it was ready to eat by Easter.
I got my set minus the wonka and basket. But maybe my store will have them soon. We just got valentines at my store! So I have a full set including roses!❤🎉
Thank you so much. Several of you have wanted me to not put the background music so I will definitely give it a try. There’s just sometimes a lot of background noise but I’ll certainly try.
Thank you so much. I was telling my husband after reading all the comments that I need to ask my family what happened why do we not have ham for Easter?
That is awesome. I am glad to hear that Miniverse had everyone in mind. Then my family typically goes to the park and we have a cookout. We eat hamburgers, hotdogs steaks baked, potatoes, salad, and some thing refreshing to drink. I guess it was easier to take that to the park, than ham maybe I do not know how our family tradition started :)
Hi for Easter my family goes to a park and we have a cookout. We typically have hotdogs we have hamburgers we have steaks we have baked potatoes. We have a fresh salad and something refreshing to drink.
The Entertainer (toy shop) had the Holiday ones, and I think Asda and Smyths had some as well. Valentines and Spring are supposedly being released here on 31st Jan 🤞(and maybe series 3?) I wish the LOL/MGA online shop shipped internationally though!
I am very sorry about that. Hopefully you will get them soon. Once you get them you will have tons of fun and it will make up for it. Just wait and see.
Ha I have 9 coming and my first order of 3 came and all 3 were the Easter baskets so I ordered 9 more. We always have ham for Easter. How much is the wonka ball supposed to weigh? I have not seen anything.
@@ccstoysandcreations thank you!! I Got my 2nd order of 3 and got the wonka one! I about fell off the bed! I have an order of 6 I just need the cupcakes I keep getting the Easter basket I have 4 now.
Congratulations that is awesome!!!!!!😎 so happy for you 🥹 I am trying so hard to not order more lol 😂 I am tempted to get a 3rd part time job and send my pay check directly to mini verse lol
@@ccstoysandcreations oh girl I am right there with you!! I will just direct deposit my paycheck to their account!! I love those little balls! I hope they fix some of the quality issues with series 3 and moving forward. But I will continue to buy.
The table you are using it's not the cardboard one is it? Where did you find the storage and the counter at that you are using. I have yet to find those just the cardboard counter :( and the storage box which won't stand on its own. I'd love to find the ones you have if anyone knows please let me know
