As we are approaching a new moon, I thought I would like to share some witchy things to do for the new moon with you. We will chat about how to work with the moon in witchcraft (well, at least on the surface - subscribe for a longer video on the topic!), think about what to do in preparation for a new moon ritual, go over ideas for easy rituals for the new moon and just talk everything interesting to any moon witch and lunar practicioner. Personally I love to use the dark moon energies for cleansing and the start with a clean slate, hype myself up with some gratitude journaling and then do manifesting with the new moon and visualizing the abundance ahead. How does your ritual for the new moon look like?

When you really think about it, just because present science can’t explain how magic works (ie. placebo effect??) doesn’t mean it isn’t happening or that it isn’t still full of mystery.

There actually has been scientific data that supports menstrual cycles that are in sync with the new moon 🌙 Also sleep patterns change right before a new or full moon. Just to name a few 💕

yep! and just because there aren’t mainstream studies/stats about something, doesn’t mean it’s not real…people forget that the studies we have access to are regulated by the media and the government, so of course our information is going to be filtered! also, lots of nurses have widely agreed that they are overwhelmed by far more weird accidents and mental health crises in their work around the full moon!

Technically the Earth and Moon both move around their mutual center of gravity called the barycenter, but the barycenter is located beneath the Earth's crust, so it's more or less that the Moon orbits the Earth

I have never intentionally worked with the moon, yet I notice myself doing certain things in certain moon phases,,,mainly cleaning and clearing, which I just done doing the basement and now enjoying a coffee along with your video.

@@Thewitchescookery yes it is awesome, was quite a skeptic before 😖😖. Before premenopause, the cleaning and clearing would come before menstruation!!! So instead of having emotional things, I would go into a cleaning frenzy !!! With pomegranate scents being the ultimate rejuvenational shower !!

This gave me some motivation to get sh*t done. I know I’m not in my car as much anymore with the pandemic, but I also know it’s been an embarrassingly long time since I’ve vacuumed it out. 😬 A timely video for sure. I just did my new moon ritual last night. I have been looking into my deities (I’ve only been practicing witchcraft for about 2 years) and I noticed that one of my main ones, Hekate, actually has a new moon ritual and tarot spread. It helped me so much on my spiritual journey! It actually prompted me to watch your self love spell video as well! I enjoy your videos so much. I’ve been binge watching them today. Oh man, understanding the significance of the moon, especially regarding cycles (even historically) is backed by science, without a doubt! Many don’t understand *why* but the connection is absolutely there.

You might want to fact check this statement in proper scientific papers before writing it down with such determination 😉 But I can also safe you the time - there is not a single study out there to promote that thesis. The female cycles is regulated by hormones, being influenced by stresslevels, nutrition and lifestyle - not by moon phases - it has Zero to do with the moon and the tides (if that is your thesis). Humans are one of the few species on earth to experience menstruation and for each species the cyclic rythm varies vastly (days / months / even years), so it would be very weird if just human menstruations was affected by some floating rock in the sky but no other mammals 😄❤️ if you'd like me to provide some actual studies on the topic, please comment. I am happy to provide scientific proof. Having said that, if you believe, the moon will still be one of your strongest allies in working your magick, so in the end it doesn't really matter✨ what matters is, what you personally want to believe ❤️

Hmm. Correlation is not causation. There is a synchronicity that exists between humankind and the moon, cause/effect does not apply. Synchronicity transcends science. Something doesn't have to be proven in a clinical study to be resonatingly interesting and experientially true. Science has its limits also because a research study depends upon the way the person writes it and the hypothesis they create before they conduct it. So if the hypothesis is proven "wrong" or unmet in a trial, then that's just the conclusion of the study, not a fact, yet. It takes a wide variety of hypotheses and trials on a topic to make something irrefutable (fact vs bs) which is not the case here. Relatively speaking there are very few scientific facts out there, more theories than anything. Mainstream people don't realize the difference. Speculations continue because the correlative results are inconclusive, rather than incorrect.

I’ve just recently started practicing again after being more of a jack-witch (a witch who hasn’t been practicing regularly) and I just recently found your channel. I’ve been doing moon rituals KINDA regularly but I’ve wanted to get more regular about it and bring more witchcraft into them and I LOVE this. I love the goal planning and the cleaning and organization bit because that’s what I’ve been doing for Ostara anyways! Plus the fact that I’ve been trying to organize and get my head straight. I’m trying to get more healthy habits established so I can welcome new things into my life and be ready to accept them!

Until I started taking medication for my issues, my endometriosis was always connected directly to the moon. The few days before the moon was full my cramps would get really bad, and on the full moon my cycle would start and I would be in agony. Once the moon started to wane so would my flow, and the pain. It felt like tidal pulling inside my body. My medicine helps me out with this now but I always found it fascinating how my body was so tied to the moon. Makes you wonder how it effects us psychologically and physically in other ways.

I like to try to sleep more during the New Moon. My periods actually are sync'd with the New Moon for at least the last year or so. I've been working 48 to 60 hours a week since about May 1 and I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted and it's worse during that time of the month. I am planning a spell/ritual for this New Moon to bring in more money with less work. Tfs these Witchy things for the New Moon.

Thanks for reminding me of the upcoming New Moon, since retirinu days run together. I was planning out my Fall garden today and wondered how close the New Moon was...of course my phone was in the house. Now I know and can get the root crop planted tomorrow and the above crop on Sunday. That's as far as I've planned. Has Spain cooled down any? We just hit our 19th day of 100° this Summer, and I live at 4,000 feet in elevation.

It's good for cleansing energies or vanishing, yada yada. I like to think of it being a great time to plant root vegetables. As far as mystic stuff, i like to incorporate certain times of the moon into making different crafts for purposes. I will make protective items around the new moon, and channeling/magical blades during the new moon. Especially coming up with the harvests, i like to make items for dealing with Feldgeister (i live in Pennsylvania, and there's a lot of PA Deutsch in the area).

I've started with rune magic, but I love the moon. The moon is so powerful and for me also the moon is a link to the old gods and deities. Moon magic is very good for beginner witches. Hello beautiful! I definitely work with lunar energy, but in what with an approach I call the Holistic Moon. Will do a video either here or on Patreon 🤔 about it 😃. Most of what you listed for the new moon I actually do during the dark moon as I personally find it the strongest pure lunar energy 🙏🏽🖤! Like planting that proverbial seed in the deep dark nourishing earth and allowing it’s roots to take hold into the darkness before breaching the ground seeking light ☺️🙏🏽🤗🖤🤍 Speaking of New Moon rituals 😜 I am so looking forward to seeing you Sunday! I like to use the Dark Moon to begin spells. I figure that a seed needs to be planted in the dark soil before it can grow!

Moon magick was one of the thibfs I explored and experimented with as a baby witch 😊 Any excuse to make moon foods! 😋😋😋😋😋 I find it is great for getting in a structure for self care too 😉

My favorite moon phase is the new moon. Okay, so I have a favorite moon phase. Great ideas on what to do. I should probably address clutter. Is drying corn husks as part of Lughnasadh clutter? It seems like a legitimate use of space by the window.

I connect so much with how you can believe but not believe ie take the piss out of "our magical beliefs". I am so similar. I have had many a fellow pagan have a meltdown at my ability to mock some of our more out-there beliefs. I still have the ability to keep an open mind at others experiences but there are many aspects where I just think , "come on?" Cheers for your videos and sharing of your life. Blessed be 🧡💚❤️

That cake in the video was a strawberry and elderflower basil cake. You can find the recipe and how-to in my Litha vlog :) As for a lemon honey cake - I shall be including that recipe in an upcoming vlog 🌻🍰

I got the Moonx app. I love it. The app. Has an app for the Sun rising Sign and the lunar moons cycle . To guide me in my everyday life.

i don't worship the moon (aything actually), but one time i danced to the full moon (in my room) to not have pain in my menstrual cicle, and it worked lmao 🤷
