This is video of a 1989 revival (Reclaiming The Afro-American Male) held at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Willie Jones was Sr.pastor at the time. Rev. EK Bailey of Concord Baptist in Dallas, Texas was the guest preacher. Topic: Portrait of A Mighty Man. It was a very powerful message that applies even more today.
These videos have been posted for all those who ever attended services (in the old sanctuary) at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church located at 4711 Kelley Street in Houston, Texas where Willie Jones was Sr. Pastor. The purpose for these postings is to provide enjoyment of the many memories that we all shared. Hard to believe that time has passed so quickly. I met Dr. Bailey in 1982 during a revival at Rock of Faith Baptist Church, Movie, AL., Pastor Fleet Bell invited him to come. His subject was What Does Athens Have In Common With Jerusalem. As a young preacher then, I was so blessed by the way he preached it taught me that if I wanted to be a workman into God who rightly divides the word, I would have to put more time into God's Word. I Thank God for bringing Dr. Bailey into my life.

I was a memeber of Concord Missionary Baptist Church as well. Dr Bailey use to say, " I don't care if you come to the church for a dog fight, bring your bible!" He taught from it every Sunday! How I miss that! A lot of these preachers today, do not...

Charles Henderson, when you were listening to him as a young boy, i was sitting behind you in awe at what God was doing through Dr. EK Bailey. He was a beast, that only a few preachers in the world, were in that category.... the best of the best

He was my pastor growing up, he did so much for our community and city. He was a great pastor, and man. I grew up with his son and remember always being at his house and being welcome. He actually lived what he preached and that always left a lasting impression on me. What’s crazy is my dad recently spoke to me about this actual sermon and a friend I grew up with at his church sent me this video. Thank You Pastor for being the leader we needed and always being there when we needed you.

You just don't know what it means to me to stumble across this video on youtube - Oh What a Blessing! Oh What Joy! My brother was a close friend of EK(Dr. Bailey). They went to high school together. In addition, my father had years of audio tapes of Dr. Baile and Rev. CW Clark preaching at Oakland, CA's City Wide Revivals. I just donated them to the Oakland African American Museum to be digitized. Great Men Always Live Forever! Thank you so much for sharing.

One of America's greatest preachers, black or white! .....It's hard not to preach with power when you have a supporting audience like that..it's a marriage made is heaven!!
