I've been really getting into Prof the past 6 or 7 months. My favorite videos on his channel are the live videos. The Powderhorn Suite and Live and In Color series, to be specific. The lunch lady scarf and sweater at the end were worn in a couple of those. His outfits are usually a mix of grandma's sweaters and jewelry mixed with hip hop apparel. I'm particularly fond of the wide gem necklace...I think that might have been Devil's Gate. It's difficult to pick between the filmed live version and the video for that one. With a lot of them, really. Cutthroat & Tarzan come to mind. Fire Lessons is better on the Powderhorn Suites version. Flower Boy, also from the P.S. series, is the most intense emotional performance outside of Tori Amos or Fiona Apple that I've ever experienced. A couple key details to know about him - he grew up in Southside Minneapolis in the neighborhood where the riots occurred in 2020. He covers that in Louisiana. His father was abusive and burned down his house when he was a kid, and then died when he was a young adult. So, while most of his songs are silly or mock fierce, many are also incredibly deep and personal. I appreciate that about him. He is now producing everything himself through his own label, so most of what you hear will be his own instrumentation and production.

The “and he’s loose!” Is actually Paul Allen the radio announcer for the Vikings! Prof is a Minnesota native, I’ve only been into him a few months but I haven’t heard a bad song yet!

I tried describing prof to a friend and the best way I could describe him was “ I can put his album on and let it play, I’m not a dancer but every song makes me wanna bounce around with some swag”
