Hi Andrew nice room and set up . The rega planar three is excellent turntable. Great idea with the billy bookcase as I need to do something as most of my cds on floor except for mc cartney and Beatles lennon etc boxsets . Great sound in your room . Enjoy take care joe
I see in the background you own Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew. Great. On my part, I own every possible permutation of Bitches Brew on CD, plus the original double LP. In a way, it is the Sgt. Pepper of jazz leading onto jazz-rock etc.
Very nice listening room, Andrew. On the battle between form and function, I focus on the latter whereas my wife focuses on the former. So, my listening room has piles of CDs everywhere along with cables showing (In my defense, I'm waiting for the final estimate for some handmade CD shelves.) But you've achieved a very nice balance with everything attractively displayed. Best wishes for many years of happy, healthy listening pleasure!
i really like what you've done with your new music room! the sound quality from those speakers are amazing. ive got 2 sets of billys (one for dvds and one for cds and LPs) and they are great shelves. i love your epiphone btw ive got a es-339 cherry red and its just perfect to play. also youve really got me listening to kate bush because of how much you praise her and im totally hooked, thats two artists you've got me listening to now hahaha
@@kianwelsh4451 Have you gone much beyond the 3 studio albums? There's a very good album called Made To Love Magic that's worth checking out if you haven't
Hi Andrew, just re-watched this, and happened to notice the blu-ray player you have in your setup. I'm curious how you navigate the disc menus without a screen attached?
Hi, "with great difficulty" is the short answer. It's there mainly to use as a CD player if I feel the need, which is rarely as I have all my CDs ripped lossless to my streamer and I play from there. But.... For the Blu Ray audio discs I have, they tend to play the main album by default, and if I want to play something else from the disc I have been known to grab a portable TV from the spare bedroom and attach it so I can see what I'm doing!. It's a pain and therefore I rarely use it. Have been able to get nearly all the Blu Ray audio I own ripped from my computer and again on my streamer so I don't have to use the Blu Ray player very often at all.
That’s a really nice music room Andrew and the night time set up with the LED’s is also a nice touch. Will you be planning on doing a review for McCartney 321?
I forgot to mention it! It's underneath the streamer and the PSU for the turntable. I use a blu ray player in case I need to play the deluxe box blu rays.
@@AndrewDixonMusic [I don't know why you say goodbye; I say] Hello Andrew, It was very nice to see the shrine with your holy altar but this video raises questions too. Could you please tell us a bit more about yourself? Now that you've showed us your guitars, won't you, Master Beatologist, share with us, innocent and awestruck viewers, what kind of music you play? Those video snippets didn't give much away. Do you sing as well? What's the name of your band, and can we find them on RU-vid? Do you write songs? I'm also wondering wether you have a regular job. Or are you a professional, full-time RU-vidr? Maybe you can tell us in another video, or on your 'About' page. It's kind of late today and it becomes tomorrow, so I will leave to go away. Goodbye...Goodbye...
Here's my band: ru-vid.com/show-UCLznQ_ucKo8d2wDDrpAgONgvideos I'd love to be a professional RU-vidr but it wouldn't pay the bills so I have a day job also!
@@AndrewDixonMusic Thanks! I'm a big Dodgy fan too! Their 90's albums gave me some of the joy that the early Beatles records transmit. Outside the U.K. nobody knows Dodgy. Maybe you could review their first three albums some day. Those are nothing less than brilliant, and need more attention from Beatle freaks around the world.
Really nice tour, Andrew! Personal and clever design, great to get a more detailed look and a good source of inspiration to get my own music room settled. Looking forward to future reviews and discussions!
🥁 REST IN.PEACE CHARLIE. WATTS I saw the Rolling Stones a few years ago in Hyde park twice. And at the o 2 they sounded and performed with perfection 🎸
Hi Andrew, great room set up! Question re: your audio setup - you didn’t mention a CD player… so do you rip all your CD’s so you can stream the audio? Considering most of the box sets are with CD’s. Do you rip the CD’s at full lossless audio. I find it interesting in today’s day and age that so many box sets still are packed with CD’s… but I appreciate the audio quality. I personally prefer vinyl and when I want to stream digitally I just use Apple Music which often has all the bonus tracks etc. from box sets. Thanks for all the great content!
@@AndrewDixonMusic thanks Andrew - one follow-up question - what kind of hardware do you require for the storage for all the lossless sound files - what kind of hard drive? I think it’s a great idea hence my questions…
Nice setup Andrew, wish we had a spare room like that, had to sell off my CD collection some years ago now in favour of a wholly digital surround sound platform centred around Apple TV and iTunes to get the full immersive experience, my speakers consist mostly of Cambridge Audio powered by a Yamaha RX-V479 AV amp, which I intend at some point next year to replace with a Denon Dolby Atmos equipped AV amp, hi-fi and home entertainment has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a teenager and will always be, keep on doing what you’re doing Andrew👍.
I’ve been collecting music for 40 years, but never had a dedicated listening room. I currently have all my music and stereo equipment in a guest bedroom. When nobody’s home I crank up the music and listen to it around the house. Plan to move soon and having a listening room is high on my list of priorities.
Great tour Andrew. One small comment and I don’t know if it is important to you but I used to like looking at what was on your units behind you in the videos filmed in your old room. In the new room, the ATMP videos showed the shelves but the contents were blurred. Don’t know if it is possible but I would love to be able to see what is on your shelves during the new videos. It makes for a really interesting backdrop. Thanks for the tour anyway - hope you are settling well. Cheers. Mark
Looks like a very nice new music room! Looking forward to the future videos you will be recording there. I also have one music corner with instruments, including 3 guitars, my bass (Hoefner Violin bass) and electric piano.
Very nice, nice to see there are still people like myself who put this kind of importance on listening to music, the way it used to be for most people. Enjoy it Andrew!
Hi Andrew - new room looks great! I just wanted to suggest a 70s and 80s Beatles solo album world cup as I think your world cups are great! (I know you have done an early Beatles solo album world cup already) Or if you were not fussed on that idea maybe a Paul solo world cup or something - it is just an idea. Keep up the great work as always.
Very nice room and a great set up in there too. My listening room is in fact my bedroom, which is upstairs in a loft conversion! Consequently, it’s a very small room but the one distinct advantage I like to think it gives me is that the room is sonically ‘dead’, so I’m not getting any unwanted reverberation in there and all I’m hearing is purely the sound of the recorded music coming out of the speakers. Also, as someone else has commented here, I try to keep as much of my collection as I can stored behind closed doors. I got so fed up with the sun playing havoc with various items on my shelves, that as much as I’d like to have things on display I had the whole room redesigned and essentially geared towards storage for both my music/DVD collections and my small fleet of guitars. Luckily my beloved Mark Knopfler/Sting/Paul McCartney collections remain largely undamaged but sunshine can be a real menace if you’re a collector!
You've got a nice listening room there Andrew. 👍When you mentioned about one of your cd shelves falling apart, that happened to the lady I swapped homes with when the removal men went to take her bookcase.
Love your room tour. Very organized & comprehensive. Everything looks great & accessible. You said you went to Liverpool & got something. Do you live close by? Thanks!
Great tour Andrew, I would have watched this earlyer but I've been watching / reading the tributes to Charlie Watts, I was also shocked to hear about the passing of Don Everly of the Everly Brothers from a few days ago
