The way to use this combination is to use the paper form to create a small extension like 2-3mm long, then use the dual forms as usual. The only purpose of the paper form is to prevent the material from the dual form to flood the distal fold underneath. In Romania we use this technique for a few years
I like the new technique but with a little variance… instead of the paper form under the dual form and squishing the gel between the two, i like to create an extension of the tip with the paper first and cure, then i remove the paper form and put the form with the gel over the new extended nail. It creates a good transition between the natural nail and the extension instead of the bulky gel that is impossible to file, if the nail is super short (like that of a bitten nail)
I found that the best way around having to use forms is either using pre-pinched tips, glitter planet carries the most insane, pre-pinched tips that you can pinch even further! Or I like using dual form half tips. This is especially great if you’re doing a reverse French or any sort of intricate design really. Also, there are now dual forms that have very deep sea curves, and because the dual forms are now made to be a bit more flimsy. You can actually pinch them to ensure that you get a strong C curve if the one it comes with, isn’t strong enough for you.
You have to do the dual form and paper form by finding the right dual form with the precise curve to accommodate the paper form...then with some practice, this method is super fast. I think it works better with poly gel ...I like the sculpted paper nail forms but it is always good to learn new techniques

I'd seen a video long time ago with this technique and tried to do it on my hands... It was a disaster I couldn't stabilise neither the paperform not the dual form. So I quit 😂
I think if you add a thin layer of gel on form and cure it, then add the dual form with gel and cure. That way it won't move as much....maybe. But I think this works for those who are not master of nail tech yet and use too much product and this can help them, but at the same time risk of getting air bubbles and not learning how to sculpt the product properly without filing it is not the way you want to go. How would you learn if you don't practice?
I do not imagine a home nail enthusiast being able to do this technique, especially on themselves, least of all on someone else. I much prefer the second nail as it has a lovely apex. The combination will not work for me. Thank you for showing as I have wondered if this would be possible, now I don’t think so. ❤️🇦🇺
Thanks for showing and explaining. I gave it a shot, but with silcon nail forms for doing french already in the dual form. It worden pretty good, because I hate to file out the tunnel and ok, I am not the Queen of efiling as well. For me it works. When doing my own nails and doing extensions, I preferred using dual forms on their own. I have also used paper forms but found it harder to use on one self. I once tried paper plus dual and had the same problems you did. I am not a professional, but just let me tell you, these two imho don't match. Of course the idea is great, but the practical sense... I don't think so. I also tried free handed sculpting and tips on top of polygel. None of these techniques did take me less time than any other. So... I don't know if it really gives any advantage. I guess people doing their own nails just have to find the technique that works best for themselves. And to everybody else: Just go to a professional that actually IS good. I personally NEVER ruined my nails but I also didn't know if I was able to do it correctly on my own, before I tried. It is a risk you take and nail fungus probably isn't fun. (and also probably not the worst thing that could happen)
I myself tried with different dual forms curves with the paper forms, with duals that are just the tip is a little bit better but it's still very time consuming and honestly not worth doing the combo of dual and paper forms in my professional opinion.
