Just based off of what I’ve heard/seen from ND, she wanted this palette to go along side Glam…which I could tooootally see now that I’ve seen swatches. I always look at her mini and midi palettes as companions, kind of like how the mini gold and large gold weren’t alike but went well together. ND also said she isn’t done with the retro line, so fingers crossed something green is in our future. I honestly just want a green/khaki themed palette from her 😅

That is the main reason why I am getting it, I might be very much in the minority but I am not as head over heals of the glam after purchasing it as I seed myself to be :( The looks I am getting from glam alone are not impactfull enough for my personal taste and usually come out quite mudy on me, so this mauve companion will be so so nice with that palette :)

On her IG she said the retro line is not done and we should wait for greens "they are coming"(she saw how many people were wanting greens in this palette). She said she has one more release for this year but didn't say if it will be a retro. Im guessing after so many people wanted a midi retro to look like the mini we will get one next year. She also said she wanted a mauve color story.

@@JenaFroese The last ND release of the year will be a "Glam Face Palette" and it will have 2 face shades and 5 eyeshadows. Images are floating around social media. She said during her live that it is a "departure and a little something different" for her and she hopes we'll like it. I'm buying it as soon as she releases it, as it looks lovely.

Just started watching. Have to say right away that the eye look you have created is the most flattering I have seen on you in recent weeks (maybe months?). On my IPad screen, the shades complement your skin tone perfectly - and impart sultriness (in my day, we called it « bedrooom eyes »). I just received mine as I was watching! This palette looks much better in person than on-screen - I think it’s the most cohesive palette I have ever bought - beats DR1 (no gold, no ultra fallout shimmer, etc.). I have the glam palette, and I agree with your assessment that for someone who loves the glam palette, this retro palette seems to be as good (better in my opinion with respect to shade curation). All I wear is neutral tones, I have been waiting for ND to create a palette like this! It's perfection and I will definitely be picking this up, I'm very happy she didn't include the greens on this one 😍

I think if you would blow that light pink out into your outer crease higher and more diagonally, it would would look really pretty! I have hooded eyes too and I find it makes it so you can notice the crease colour so much more when my eyes are open and contour the eyes more, and I just love the look. I find it makes my eyes look wider and more like a cat eye look when I blow it out on the outer corner more and less on the inner corner

From what I heard, Natasha Denona wanted the midi Retro to be a mauve toned complementary to the Glam palette. Prior to hearing this, I was very disappointed. Since, I adore the pinks and taupe-greens of the Mini Retro. A few of my cousins are very excited for this midi. The Mini Retro has a 60s themed color story, while the midi Retro is more of a 70s vide. Two different decades, but both modern takes on retro colors.

I think I read or heard that this is the “retro” or romantic version of glam. They both have those cool tone vibes. It seems whenever she comes out with a mini before the midi, folks think the color stories are not aligned. I’m actually glad this didn’t look like the retro mini because that would have never worked for me even though it looks soooo beautiful on more fair skin tones than mine. I actually ordered the midi Retro the day it was made available on Sephora’s app as a rouge exclusive and it arrived packaged sooo lovely! I think they are getting better with their packaging or it may be a requirement from the brand. Great review and I can’t wait to dig into my palette!!!💜

I'm not surprised that it's pretty different from the mini. If you look at the majority of her midi palettes with their mini counterparts they all look quite different. I look at them as two different takes on whatever theme she's going for. Mini glam was warmer than the midi, the midi zendo was more colorful, mini gold was more green than teal etc...

I’m so glad I ordered this palette! I have the Bronze and Glam palettes, and this will be a nice addition. I didn’t order the Love palette because I thought it was too bright for my taste. I did purchase the Mini Love palette, however. I also have the Mini Zendo palette, but the Zendo palette was too colorful for me. This palette is perfect. I should be getting this week, and I can’t wait! I enjoyed your review!

Already ordered mine and it’s on the way. I honestly don’t care that it doesn’t look like the mini retro. I was the only person in America who decluttered the mini because I didn’t like the colors! I can’t wait to get it. It looks like a great complement to the Glam which is my all time favorite.

Have been waiting for this video, another great review! Natasha said during her Q&A on IG that this palette is supposed to be a mauve version of glam, a sister palette to that one. She insinuated that next year a midi size retro classified palette will be coming out with greens and blues, along with other retro classified items. So she is not done! Marketing wise I don’t think it was the best decision to call this Retro, but I would never buy a palette with blues and greens in it so I’m a happy camper with this one haha. It’s on my birthday list for sure!
