Bummer about laying the bike down. Yes, I had a brand new KTM 450 EXC and tried a heinous hill climb. Didn't make it to the top, the bike went end over end all the way down. Broke a foot peg off amount other damage. Watching that brand new bike do summersaults was like a punch in the gut !
It’s pretty normal for me to lay my bike down hahaha. I haven’t had anything like your experience luckily! My buddy sent his brand new bike off a cliff (and himself) in one of my earlier videos. He was pretty bummed about his bike too hahaha
Just found this video. I bought a set of these bags and installed them on my KTM 350 exc. Once I got them cinched up I checked how well they were secured. I found they were pretty floppy in the vertical direction. Thus if the bike tipped over they would slide up over the seat. Did you not have that issue? How did you get them secure? I have the option to return them if this is how they are.
I didn’t have that issue. Sorry for the late response. I had to pull the straps really tight. I guess the best thing would be to not tip over ideally. I know it happens, and when it does just adjust them. Thank for checking out the video.
@@RCoperator I ended up returning mine and bought the Tusk Travers saddlebags. They have 2 anchor points in front so they cinch down tight. Nelson Rigg needs to add another tie point in front to address the floppiness.
Hey great video! Since it's been a while since you posted this, how have they held up? Also any issues with heat/melting/etc from the exhaust? I have a WR250 with a stock sheild, but wondering if ther eis something I should do to prevent melting, etc.
They were great bags, I have since sold the bike with all the bags. I used and abused them for a while though and they held up well. I didn’t have any melting issues, just be mindful where the straps are touching. I used them on a long road trip where we road hundred’s of miles and didn’t have any issues, there is a video about the trip if you wanted to check it out. It’s called like dual sport road trip or something like that. The only worry I would have is that they aren’t 100% water proof, yet they are water resistant. If you were just doing fat trips your probably fine, you could bring a few trash bags just in case, but if you were doing long trips where you would ride in the rain, the wolfman bag might be a better option.
@@RCoperator Yeah I wondered if wolfman had a similar product but I can only see the full size ones, not any smaller/midsized saddle bags. And yeah good point about water proofing them. I'm building a packing list so thanks to you, I'll fure add trash bags to it ✅ Thanks for the reply!
Hey Bryce thanks for the video I have just ordered those bags for my XT250 can't wait to get them , I do a bit of moto camping here in Western Australia and have a small You Tube channel with some video of my camps if you are interested , will also be checking out the helmet set up you have . Cheers Pete Western Australia
I highly recommend the bags! They work awesome and are reasonably priced. I’ll have to check out your channel! Be safe out there, Cheers from Northern Utah USA
if you come up with a way to move any of your RC’s easily on your dirtbike let me know cause I’m trying to figure out a way!! I was thinking maybe a stampede vxl with the wheels removed In my backpack with a couple charged lipos. I’d love to take the maxx but I just think it’s pretty big same thing with the crawlers. Stampede wo wheels pretty small. That’s a funny way to park your Honda i usually park it on the other side...🙂 Let me know on that i have not run into too many people that do both
I’ll have to come up with a way! I haven’t thought of that, I’ll have to go riding with an RC and make a video about about it. Yeah, I park my bike wired.. 😅.
are these stock tires? just got an drz400s and the stock tires made it difficult to ride trails, obviously going to get new ones but would love to hear some pointers cause i still enjoying riding some street while also wanting the freedom to turn down a trail
These are stock tires. I don’t know anything about different tires because this is my first bike and haven’t changed the tires yet. They do good on road and decent off road, I’ve taken this thing on some pretty rough terrain, it’s not the best but I’ve managed. Congrats on the new bike!!!!
