If you dont own a 3ds, get the new XL. If you already own an original 3ds XL, there's no need to upgrade unless you want the better processor/ram and cstick nub.

They better not make another console RIGHT AFTER I buy the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

if you're like me and strictly play Pokemon, doesn't matter which 3DS XL you have, makes no difference.

I bought a New 3DS XL (Galaxy Design), but kept my old 3DS to give to my friend who has never had a hand held. My only problem is that the New 3DS XL doesn't come with a charger, so I have to use my old one, and go digging around my house to find my spare charger, or just buy a new one. The main reason I upgraded was because I've had that 3DS ever since the 3DS came out, and it has lately been starting to show with it taking forever to launch games and playing Pokémon in 3D.

I don't know. I just recently got my old 3ds xl and I don't think I would upgrade. There isn't much of a difference and the differences themselves don't really matter to me.

I used to have the New 3DS XL and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I sold it to get a Switch, but at least now I bought my friend’s 2DS XL off of him.

I ordered a regular xl actually recently, and honestly i prefer the xls over any other 3ds/ 2ds. Both of them look pretty great. If they werent absolutely expensive right now i probably wouldve gone for a new 3ds xl but it really doesnt matter all that much

I own a New 3DS XL, and I have to say it works pretty spectacularly. The 3D is comfortable and the c-stick actually gets used a lot in games such as Smash Bros and Majora's Mask. However, the smaller (and somewhat thicker at least the feeling) stylus is somewhat uncomfortable to use, but that isn't major. What is major is that the system does not come with an AC adapter, a charger, so keep that in mind. This a great improvement of the old 3DS, and if you're like me and didn't have the money around that time and didn't feel like it was worth it for crappy 3D (I ended up getting a 2DS), then get this system because it is fantastic. Be wary though, if you have problems with smudges then the complete glossy outside will drive you insane XD. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful system that was completely worth the money in my perspective.

"Slightly better" doesn't justify a £100+ price tag after trading in my XL.

The only feature that makes me consider the new one, is the wider range of 3D. I have a had a few instances where when playing, if I shift even the slightest to the left or right the 3D becomes blurred and very hard to see. Do you guys think it is worth it to upgrade for that?

So I bought a new 3DS Xl with Mario 3D world, new super Mario 2, Pokemon super mystery dungeon, Mario cart 7, and Zelda game OoT, I went all out on this. Haven't played the 3ds in about 2-3 years wish me luck!!!

Just got my first new 3ds xl hyrule edition console last week. It's just amazing handheld and feels comfortable In my hands as well :)

Don't forget about the wireless file transfer feature of the new model! You can wirelessly transfer files on and off the device like it was a normal network or USB drive

Another thing regarding the new 3ds xl's screen is that it has a much better contrast ratio (much darker blacks). The old 3ds xl looks a bit washed out compared to the new screen.

most important thing for the new 3DS that its 100% worth the money is the camera adjustment for the 3D visuals of the game. i've tried the simple 3ds xl and my eyes were on fire with the 3D mode on.

How did I miss an entire release of a new xl, I've been in the dark for YEARS, I was so confused when I looked how to work amiibo when it said "it works on 3ds xl but not 3ds xl, so buy a nfc"

I have the old 3ds but I only got it two years ago and it's working perfectly fine, as well as there aren't many new XL exclusive titles yet.

The major problem I have with the NN3DSXL is that the game cartridge and stylus are at the bottom, instead of the stylus on the side and game cartridge at the top.

Honestly it's quite impressive how well games run and play on such low spec hardware

Since the New Nintendo 3DS regular is so limited and so hard to find to this day, I just bought the modified New Nintendo 3DS XL Galaxy Edition 64GB for just $160. Well worth the price for I can hold 40 3DS game, 140GBA games and 700 SNES games. :D

Damn, got the new 3DS XL recently (what can I say, I like my handhelds abandoned by their maker, looking at you PS VIta and it's awesome community) and finding accessories for it is quite nightmarish, needed to confirm that the screen size is the same for protectors so here I am on a 6 years old video!

One thing that I like although quite simple and maybe not a big deal for most is that the stylus slot was added to the front, even if it is to the right a tad. As a left hander I pull my stylus out with my right hand and switch it to my left, this seems a tad better to that respect.

I have to wonder if the new 3ds xl did not sell as well as they thought it would? They sure cost a lot used now.

I really only use my 3DS XL for the Zelda and Pokemon titles, and Smash Bros and Mario Kart if I'm bored, so until there's a New 3DS XL-exclusive Zelda game or Pokemon game, I'm sticking with what I have.

Damn. Just three days ago I got the NES gamestop edition. Now this one is coming out. I think ill just keep my 3DS XL and buy this one if it has to come down to it. I will not sell my 3DS cause I sold my NES GBA SP back in the day and I regret it.

Get the new one it's battery life is awesome like when your traveling to different countries that take long and you want to play your game this is the Choice.

The main problem that I have is that there will be no "normal size" 3DS in North America, so as a result, I'd have to get a more expensive, less customizable, larger version that I really do not want and have no need for.

The only thing I don't like about the new 3ds xl is how everything is on the bottom. It just gives the 3ds a higher chance of accidentally hitting the power button or the cartridge being pressed.

This is a really accurate and good review. Although in the boot-up test my 3ds xl boots up faster than your 3ds xl. So I found that a little inaccurate.

I would rather have the OG 3DS by it is cheaper and basically the same and even though the 3D doesn’t have face tracker, I would never use the 3D anyways

I like the click feeling on my original 3ds xl and it's good to know the new ones buttons click. Idk if I'll be using the c stick much, but if they release a good enough game that utilizes it well enough I will start to use it. When I got my first Ds which was a Ds lite a really long time ago I used it for a while then lost it. One I found it and used it for a while it broke and I was Ds-less for a while ☹️. Reasons why I am proud to own a original 3DS XL: 1. It has easier access to a regular size SD card. 2. You can easily toggle WiFi on/off with the slider on the right. 3. It uses regular SD cards instead of micro-SD so it will be harder to lose. 4. I love the red color of my 3DS XL 5. You can insert the game card at the top, hiding it in a perfect fit instead of the bottom exposing a centimeter of the card. 6. It has bigger triggers that fits in the fingers. Downsides and reasons why I could but won’t get a new 3DS: 1. You can customize the faceplate. 2. It has up-to-date software unlike original 3DS. 3. It has all-new shoulder buttons.

So the N3ds does have double the RAM than the PCs we use in School in IT classes -.- Yep Windows 95 :D

i know its petty but i wish the buttons were colored.. im not a native nintendo gamer i play xbox and pc but ive a 3ds for about a year and sometimes when button prompts come up i get confused since im so used to other lay outs.. this is fine since normally i can just look down but i game alot in dark/dim areas and colored buttons or buttons with some form of glow in the dark material would be brilliant... i know some of the new models have them but is it a region thing? like EU got the colors or something or is it special edition consoles.

For years I had a Yoshi-themed 3ds XL and when they started selling the new version I didn't want it. Then I got it anyways for my birthday, transferd my data and then loved it more than my old one.

I can't decide please help. I'm sorta leaning towards the old one.

Got myself a circle pad pro back in December, which also has its own set of extra triggers plus it's far more comfortable to hold - it's far more bulkier though, but I love that feeling. Unless you don't have a 3DS yet, I personally don't think the new 3DS is a worthwhile investment (for now at least).

And turns out just a couple of gamed were released exclusively for the N3DS

I'm gonna sound weird here but I had the new version but didn't like it. I went back to my old one and sold the new one. Personally I prefer the old design. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with the newer one, far from it. I think it's much improved, especially in terms of the 3D. I don't use the 3D much anyway I have it set pretty low as it's always been a headache trigger for me. But it was the design overall that made me go back. The slot and buttons all moving I didn't like as I find it hard adjusting to change. I have no use for the C stick as I only really play Pokemon. Unless a new 3ds XL exclusive Pokemon game happens, then I'll stick to my old one :) But the new one is great, found it was a little faster loading up games etc, 3D like I said, is much better. Not perfect, but much improved.

Somehow I didn’t know New 3ds xl was a thing. I’ve had an original version practically since it came out, and I just bought one on eBay as a Christmas gift for someone, and I was very confused because it looked different from mine. I was worried I bought a bootleg or something, thanks for easing my mind for me lol
