Irish words pronunciation following 😂. (Only if you’re interested 🙃) Dia Dhuit = dia gwhich. (Hello) Slán = slawn (goodbye) Sláinte = slawn-tcha Táinte = tawn-tcha “Sláinte is táinte” is an Irish saying that translates to Health and Wealth. Sláinte would often be used as a “cheers” when having a drink. Cobh Harbour = Cove Harbour Malin Head = Ma-lin head Cliffs of Moher = cliffs of mow-her. Croagh Patrick = crow-agh Patrick.
As an Irish Woman (born, raised and still residing) I like to see some of the details they incorporated with the symbols they used. The shamrock and Celtic braid on the packaging, and the harp and claddagh ring embossing on the shadows, these are all cultural symbols for us. Also Google butchered some of the pronunciations because they are Gaeilge (our traditional language) 😂 appreciate the effort though 🫶🏻❤️☘️ absolutely love your excitement and enthusiasm about this one
Hey Angie! Google did you dirty on the pronunciation of táinte and sláinte. Not even close, not your fault. The matte look with Camu Camu and the graphic liner is 🔥. Perfect for a grocery run. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend! Thanks for the content 🙏💚
Is Slainte Sl-an-che, which means many thanks? I worked at an Irish pub called Slainte, and it was in every match book Slainte and the meaning. It also had facts like the country colour is not green. It is blue. 😊❤ Love this comment you typed.
I feel like we are always asking for multiple undertones of bright shades in colorful palletes! And nomad is delivering for us ☺️ I'm so excited about this palette and really want to get it on launch which I rarely ever do!
Nomad - I want to love you so much, but the too-similar shades are killing me! Perfect examples are the blue-teals in Royal Europe, *many* shades in Ghost Town, the reds and pinks in Verona Love & Death... We love you, but palettes are expensive enough (life is expensive enough). It would be nice to see some more edited-down palettes.
The reason a lot of pubs close a bit earlier on Paddy's day is because people start drinking really early (could be starting at noon) and if you don't stop to eat things get messy quick. Once it hits 7 or 8pm people are often puking their guts up on the footpath or fighting😂 Source: am Irish
@MSUSPARTANS1973 I'd say on the whole we drink/party more than Americans do tbh. I've seen Americans describe being "so wasted" when in Ireland we'd practically see them as being sober. Wasted here usually means being blackout drunk, being sick in a gutter or wetting yourself. To be honest, as a nation our relationship with alcohol isn't great. There are a lot of people you could describe as functional alcoholics, who work all week but then spend the whole weekend in the pub getting hammered. And then you've got the people whose addiction is so severe that they can't hold down a job. There's also a massive cocaine problem that's developed here over the past 10 years or so. It doesn't just affect young people or people in urban areas either... there's coke in pretty much every pub, club or house party up and down the country regardless of age group. Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with the difficulty people can have expressing their emotions...for a long time there was a culture of "don't complain, just get on with it", which helped perpetuate cycles of abuse and stigma around mental ill health. It's easier to drink/party away the negatives in life than having to face them for some people. But that's a whole other story!
LOVE the loos and LOVE the palette!!! Ive akways lived Ireland and always wanted to visit and green eyeshadow haooens to be one of my top 3 colors to wear (purple and blue)
I had looked away at something across the room when I heard the little robot voice saying "taint, taint" and almost spat out my coffee 😅 And wow, talk about memories, I think I might actually still have a Prehistoric Green single in it's original little plastic clamshell packaging rolling around in my collection somewhere, I think I saw it *recently* lol. 2015 Clown Color Makeup forever! I love your tutorials so much 💚💚💚
Do I love green... YES, do I have a ton of green in my collection... yes... will I be buying this... HELL YES!!!!🍀🍀🍀 That first look was amazing but man I loved the second one!😍 IMO those greens show enough difference to be warranted. I've seen a lot of people complain that Nomad as too similar shades in palettes but I haven't found that. I'm an olive undertone and colors can pull wildly different on me so subtle differences in the shades can make them very different on the eyes for me. I love this and it may be my new fave from Nomad.
My bffs husband is from Ireland. His family is still there. They send cards for St. Patrick’s day which none of the Irish side of my family do but our family has been in the US since before the revolutionary war.
Hey, Angelica! I wanted to say thank you. I have severe depression and anxiety. My panic attacks manifest as seizures and your videos are always a great way to cheer me up and calm me down. You have such wonderful energy and are so positive it helps me so much. I can't thank you enough for putting out content and helping people like me. Thank you so much.
They have the Tokyo Harajuku and Iceland palettes on sale for $19 right now. I got mine a couple days ago and they're so worth it! I'm part Irish and green is my favorite color, but these kelly, or "St. Patty's Day" greens are my least favorite to use, haha! 😄 They did a great job with all the complimentary colors, but I'm all set with your Hela palette. 💚💚💚🇮🇪🍀
I can’t believe i have followed you for so long but i realised when you mentionned prehistoric green…… your CS swatch videos where the moment i subscribed to you 😭😭💚
Hi Angelica, I love both looks that you created, I love, love green eyeshadow both looks are so amazing on you, it a great palette. Love Katherine xoxo
I'm so happy they made these shades more of a "true green." I'm constantly on the hunt for those grassy green shades and brands always seem to choose the mints/teals as the green option in their palettes.
Oh. WOW 💚💚 Do i need this? Absolutely not. Do i want this? Absolutely YES!! I'm Scottish, my father is Irish, and greens touch my soul. I’ve always wanted to try a Nomad palette but shipping to the UK makes it incredibly expensive for a palette. However, when something comes along and it makes you yearn for it...💚💚
Holy crap that first pat of green is fricken gorgeous!! Angies PREHISTORIC GREEN!!! Yes I remember!! It was sold out and never came back. All my CS are now long gone now
The palette looks beautiful on you, but I know I won't wear it if I am being realistic. Your artistry is really inspiring. I bought the Mario cool tone palette which I will use with a little of the Colourpop supershock shadows to give it sparkle. I did buy the Nomad Ghost Town palette and I love that color story and packaging. Their formula is beautiful.
I love both of the looks!! I REALLY don’t need this palette considering I probably have every one of these colors in one or another of the other palettes I own. However, green is my favorite color, it’s beautiful and I’m buying it. Period! 😂🤣💚💚
That first look is straight out of a fantasy movie. When you had just one lash on it also looked a bit like faerie wings or sth, ready to fly away. 😍This palette is so much fun.
Yes, Google did you DIRTY on the pronunciation. A “taint” is something dramatically different in English, so no worries. It is TAWN-chuh (rhymes with SLAWN-chuh) and means “health and wealth” or “cheers”. I think it is *Ireland* Wild Atlantic Way…not Iceland. It is a famous scenic and coastal drive in the north. I am Irish and don’t need this many greens, but I’m tempted to buy the palette to reward the theme :-) St. Patrick’s Day is a religious holiday, not a drinking holiday, so it is FAR bigger in the US than in Ireland, but they are starting to catch on and cater to American tourists. PSA for all who are reading this: It is St. Paddy’s Day (Paddy is short for Patrick), not St. Patty’s Day (Patty is short for Patricia). Also, Corned Beef and cabbage is not an Irish meal. It feels like something the Irish immigrants who lived near the German or Jewish immigrant populations may have eaten in NY, but is not eaten in Ireland. Lastly, St. Patrick used a 3-leaf shamrock to teach about the holy trinity, not a 4-leaf clover. ☘️ is Irish and the right symbol, 🍀 is just lucky and not specific to Ireland unless you’re talking about the “Luck of the Irish”, which is, historically speaking, generally bad luck. 🇮🇪 Counteracted by generations of very hard work and great personal sacrifice.
@@daisycate Right! I am thrilled that Sweden now has the official protection of Article 5! And that the addition of Sweden gives NATO great control of the Baltic Sea. (Hindering Russia) Finland & Sweden both have terrific militaries that will greatly add to NATO’s abilities. 👍
Your first look totally reminded me of Poison Ivy - More Villain than superhero. I unfortunately will not be getting this nomad palette (though I love Nomad & have many of their palettes!) it just has too many greens in the Kelly green shade that I just don't look good in. I do look good in greens but I stick to grunge greens or lighter color sage greens. It's beautiful though! You looked beautiful in both looks thanks for making the video!☘️☘️
I went to cinema yesterday to see Dune 2 and I wanted to wear full matt look and inspired by the movie. I found one look Zendaya had on some screening of Dune and it was just basic brown smokey eye so I put red liner into my waterline to spice it up (if you know what I mean) well my friends asked my if I had eye infection… anyway 😂 it’s cute palette and I love the second look. Thanks for the video ❤
I love that your did an all matte on the first look with the graphic liner for the punch. The second one was giving me mermaid tail vibes. Both are stunning!
I adore green looks! Beautiful. I also rocked an indie palette eye look today that some might have thought was a bit dramatic and I was just going to Target. Didn't care. Love that people like you are promoting wearing what we like, no matter what we're doing. Bravo. Thanks for the bonus vid! 💜
I don't need any new eyeshadow but I've really wanted to Nomad and they've made an Irish lady really happy! The best time to visit Ireland weather wise is early June
Now when I went to Ireland during st. Patty's day...22 years ago... everyone told me the same thing as your husband. It's a bigger deal in the us than ireland (especially in my area of the US...milwaukee/chicago). But we still had an amazing time. And it's a very pretty palette. Nomad always has such fun launches on social media.
I think it’s gorgeous! I love the SATURATION of this palette. Nomad doesn’t shy away from bold and green is my favorite color hands down so I know I’ll love them all
I have a similar skin tone as you, I have bright blue eyes, and I absolutely CANNOT get green eyeshadow to look good on me. 🤬 I have tried and tried. I have watched numerous tutorials on RU-vid, followed them to a T, but green eyeshadow still doesn’t look good on me. It frustrates me so much because I LOOOVE green eyeshadow palettes 😩 Your looks turned out great! I’m going to try emulating your second look now! 😊
this is like the 3rd or 4th time nomad has ALMOST gotten me... if they swapped just one of those grassy greens for a grungy, melt-esque green i'd have been done for. i want to try nomad so badly but i only buy palettes where i'm happy with all the shades TT_TT
Angie please do a green palette built around Prehistoric green 🙏🏼💚 yes to a deeper green, a mint, a mint shimmer, but also that shiny green shimmer in this palette, ooh and some blues, navy. Hey I can dream 😂
Honestly, as a fan of green myself as well, I would pick the Beauty Bay Earthy palette over this one any day of the week. The 42 pan one has every green I would want, varying in depth and warmth, and the stunning dark reds and bronze tones complement them nicely. Same goes for the midnight palette by the way. I know 42 pans is A LOT but when you like the colors in question, they are simply divine. And in my humble opinion every shade in the palettes I mention ads something
I am SO EXCITED for this palette!! I love Ireland so so much. I’ve been waiting for this palette from Nomad since I visited Ireland, and I can’t wait to use it! 💖🇮🇪💚☘️
Gurl. I have the coastal scents prehistoric green.. the best. I have been with you for years now. I got mine for less than a dollar..lol. debating on getting this palette
The way you talked about loving green colors reminded me of how much I love your original Hela palette. I loved it so much I bought a second one cuz I hit pan in 6 or 7 colors in 6 months.
That first look is so fierce! The palette isn´t my cup of tea, but you made it work. I´m so tempted to try Nomad, but still waiting the perfect palette ❤
'Since I'm going to the grocery store... and I look like a superhero...' XD Me totally tomorrow when I'll go to the museum dressed like a glam Beetlejuice. I feel that XDD
💚Both looks. The second one could have also been the perfect all matte look. I definitely am excited about this palette. I think it would be a great one to combine with their Okevango palette. I did let pick that one up because it was too subdued for me but I now see how the two would be great together for looks. I also love a warm cool mash up on the lids!
Eventhough the differences betweem the first 3 shades on the first look aren't too different, that lighter one made the look amazing. The liner did make you look like a superhero!! Love the 2nd as well.
tehe chuckling at your pronunciation while simultaneously knowing I've been there before with Irish and Scottish words - it seems they're rarely said how they look, and slainte is a perfect example. It's pronounced Slanj-a-va (or Slanj-a for short) and is the Gaelic equivalent for cheers.
