That diecast car on the gas station is a 1957 Chevrolet Nomad wagon. This car is highly prized and sought after by old car enthusiasts.

When will Lionel stop teasing us and release an actual yellowbelly hudson instead of previously released engines in its color scheme?

Maybe if enough people buy the knockoffs? The problem I see with the actual Hudson is it's a one-off prototype that doesn't look much like anything else, so the market it pretty much limited to C&O fans (although I'm SURE that Pat's Trains would do a Blackbonnet version! ;-) )

@@ToyTrainTipsAndTricks Actually you could make a pretty killer warbonnet paint scheme with the whole stainless-steel streamlining if you just replace the yellow with red

You know when I was a kid most of my model train stuff was affordable nowadays things are so overpriced it's almost not worth being in the hobby anymore

Maybe. Today's starter sets have more features and are priced comparably to those of the 1970s when inflation is factored in.
