I bought way too many books from the "great muddy river," including "A Formless Fire," as a result of following last week's post. Hope the little bit of $$ benefits you ! I love that you so often get difficult words in English and many other languages pronounced correctly. Thanks!
Re: The alien thing: It gets bundled together with Esoterica because some people have argued (like Carl Jung and Jacques Vallee) that they either occupy the same place in the human mind that fairies/daimons/deities/etc occupy, or else they're the same external phenomena reinterpreted through a modern lens. If you read the accounts of UFO experiencers, they sound essentially the same as accounts of encountering fairies and other spiritual beings. The main difference is the way that they're treated on a cultural level; aliens are a "scientific" or scientistic interpretation of the phenomena, so there's an assumption that they can be studied, understood, and encountered in a strictly physical way. IMO UFOlogy is really interesting in the sense that it shows the cultural changes in epistemology. I just finished a great book that covers this subject (aliens as well as a great number of other entities) called "Daimonic Reality: A Field Guide to the Otherworld" by Patrick Harpur.
Pumpkin season! Pumpkin season!! Oh Dennis how very dare you! It’s Samhain with all its history and significance and pumpkins have only been very latterly adopted because they are hella easier to carve than turnips!!! I have chiseled enough of them to know but truth be told my mother did the hard labour and with the available of attractive soft orange flesh…. Well what’s a girl to do. I forgive you though 🙏✨🤣
I was also skeptical of overlap between the occult and the UFO phenomenon. I decided to keep an open mind and eventually found the overlap made a weird sort of sense. Setting aside the New Agey Aquarian interests, I found the stories of fae abductions and UFO abductions did seem to rhyme. There's also a number of "close encounter" stories that seemed to have left the witnesses with the sort of inspiration one may get from an encounter with gods or angels. I'm not saying that gods or fae are actually aliens, only that they seem to have similar effects.
I saw damien echols describe angels are looking "mantis" like. then you read about mantis-oid ufo encounters, where people describe them as doctors/healers. its kinda crazy. same with crowley drawing that demon where it looked just like a gray
I mean. It's New agey. Yet also anti new-agey.. (As It's relatively anti both Metatron, Thoth and Michael - but not Gabriel... hmmm also NOT channeling but 'contacted') Anyway, Ashayana Deane (youtube or-) voyager, angelic realities etc. Is... the most insane, but comprehensive, concpiracy theory grounded in spirit (multi dimensional ET angels?) contact that I have come accross. And it's simply... bridging everything. Occult, yugas, war of gods mahabarata, Atlantis-('atlantic ridge'), the Bermuda triangle oof... aand don't even get me started on 9/11, the illuminati 'puppets' or... the stargates everyone is running back and forth between.
I’ve just finished watching a documentary series called Encounters on Netflix about UFO sightings and experiences with aliens. It’s well worth the watch and the overlap seems quite apparent to me. Many of them had mystical/spiritual experiences, clear messages and healing.
