@@BarkandJack Hi Adrian, nice watch... love the blue on white, similar to Omega's city edition for Singapore. Quick question: I dont think i will ever be able to afford a Swiss made tourbillion watch, what do you think of these Chinese made ones on Amazon? They're like 500 USD each in which the price is so minute compared to Rolex Label Noir tourbillion but it's still 500 dollars. I recall on one of your video when you bought that Rolex knock off and your feeling on it.
At the end of the day, Omega earned that Snoopy, for the superb performance of their watch when the chips were down, and all others failed, including Rolex.
@@wayneskelding3412 Astronauts often had a personal watch on them, there has been Seiko's, Bulova's and Rolex on board and more, but none had to face testing like the official selection, of which of course Omega were the last ones standing.
@morbeus Morbeus The Co-axial movement used by Omega is the first advancement in mechanical watch escapements in 200 years, yes they still make Moon watches, but they are definitely not living on past glories.
Omega did earn the NASA Snoopy award, but many Apollo era astronauts owned a personal Rolex GMT-master... and carried it to the Moon (Apollo 13, 14 and 17) while the Speedmaster was the company watch, like a good Audi or Ford but personally You really want a Porsche or Corvette
@@phmwu7368 Omega Speedmaster was the first pick by NASA exactly because many pilots and astronauts owned it as their personal watch and took it on numerous missions. Walter Shirra took his Speedy to space 7 years before anyone got to the moon. But the most important was the testing, that really was able to set contemporary watches apart after head-to-head comparison. And, according to some sources, Rolex failed the very first stage, with hands melting under heat.
Rolex is that moderately attractive girl that things she is gods gift to all, you approach but her attitude stinks. Don't ask her twice, plenty of fish in the sea.
That 50 Fathoms with 120 hour power reserve is also really nice. A little too expensive. I don’t know why Rolex has this pull. We know there are better watches.
@@rickjason215 agree, try on the bathyscaphe 43mm. it wears Ok for my 6.5 inch wrist and there is a 38mm version (not as nice). The dial has the most unique light sunburst on the dark grey and the hour markers twinkle. It costs the same as a sub but you can get it for less with a discount or preowend.
@@Jay-xr3sb It's probably a better watch than the Rolex. The Bathyscape has an 80 hour power reserve. I am switching off 3 watches and that comes in handy. I can probably wear the 43mm. I feel your pain... It's hard for a Rolex fanboy to admit what Omega did here. Yes an other Speedmaster, but what a watch ! Nothing to do with yet another Rolex with blue ceramic... The story behind it, the movement and even the "reasonable" price... everything is head and shoulders above what Rolex is doing. Good job Omega !
Sébastien Crettaz Do you like when Omega does stuff like a Snoopy watch? They make incredible watches. They don’t have to make all these special editions.

@@rickjason215 I love Omega being accessible. I buy a watch to wear it, not to keep it in a safe and try to flip it for a few... And this snoopy is incredible indeed! You might be right about all the special edition, but at least people have the choice. Wich in my point of view is a good thing :)
You can. I'm not fan of the back but you will get it if you pay. They are given a delivery date. I think they know the demand is there so its almost made to order as they won't be sitting in AD windows.
Hi Adrian. Great video, as always. Just to add some of my thoughts on the whole Rolex-Omega-Fanboy-Hypocrisy. I do agree that its not just a Rolex thing....however. Omega is at least accessible at some level. You can admire and aspire to own a 'limited' Speedy. Yet you can go out right now and spend your hard earned cash on a regular Speedmaster, Seamaster, Railmaster.....whatever. Seems like a consolation prize, but you know yourself how special and unique a mass produced watch can be regardless. That's just not the case for Rolex anymore. The barrier to entry is insurmountable.
Hahaha Rolex fan boy getting his panties in a bunch!! Seriously, media hype and of course the 2 different camps, there is going to be the social media frenzy of love and hate....love it (the hype frenzy)....good take on the piece!
Adrian, it's not ok when any of them play games. But you are mistaken, I went right in and put my deposit down. Limited run, not limited or numbered edition mate. Keep up the good work.
I've been drooling over the old snoopy since i got into watches. When I saw this... man. That blue is stunning. And the back of the watch is very clever. Not a gimmick at all, fits the idea of the watch perfectly and the persona of snoopy. LOVE it.
The caseback is more creative than anything Rolex/Tudor has ever produced. Rolex buyers- "oooh look it's a different coloured bezel. Please AD, let me give you a wristy so I can maybe, one day buy one"
Sounds like you there's some serious sexual tension between you and Rolex/Tudor, Anthony. I too used to rag on the brand, until of course, I owned one. Now I don't want much of anything else.
@@Jay-xr3sb Anyway, Omega movements aren't finished to jewelry standards either so why bother to have exhibition case-back?! And, why should I own a watch with a needless complication? Just a personal opinion, anyone can buy what they want :)
Absolutely stunning, those hands and the case back detail are beautiful. Yeah 8k+ is a high price to pay but will you lose money? Certainly not. The Speedmaster is one of the most iconic watches produced along with the Submariner, if i had 8k to spend on either, I'd be walking away with the Snoopy.
I own a Speedmaster and when I saw this watch before your video I thought what a stunning watch. When I saw the price I thought Omega was talking the piss because how much more would it cost to make compared to a standard offering. After your video I could see where the value is and good luck to all the collectors who can get one.
I think Omega’s method of selling these is different from before, and hopefully it ends up as a win for everyone. From an outside observer’s POV, it looks more similar to ordering a custom car (put money down to have your name in the factory queue). This way Omega gets better data on the true demand for this product, and can adjust accordingly (and probably sell more units overall, which is a win for them). Truly interested customers win because they will eventually get the watch they want, even if it’s waiting for several months (but it’s a stronger guarantee, instead of the Rolex AD courtship game). Maybe the only people that lose out are the grey market/flippers (because the scarcity of this watch is ultimately an unknown), and that’s OK imo
It's just one variant of a watch you can buy (I mean the normal version) from a shop tomorrow in contrast to most sport watches on the Rolex catalogue. And that caseback is something very nice and creative so it's not just a color change.
It's not my cup of tea ...but hats off to Omega for helping to drive the industry forward with new ideas. It's £10k but it's arguable better than a Daytona and it's available to buy in your lifetime.
The Speedmaster design is so universal that you can literaly make hundreds of color variations with different details and all are going to look pretty good and fashionable. They sure are milking the Speedy hard but I can't really blame them, it looks great and the caseback is amazing.
I’m a Rolex “fanboy” too but I also love the Omega Speedy’s..people complain that Omega has too many LE speedy’s but now they have come out with one that is not and tbh this is a very cool watch and compared to some Rolex models (if we look at just how much much watch you are getting for your money and not just the value retention) is well worth the asking. Rolex kept increasing the price of their watches every year without updating much🤷♂️ I defended the new Rolex Submariner releases and so I don’t fall in the category of a Rolex hater..with regards to the waitlist - I’d rather pay a refundable deposit and get the watch in a month or two than be on an abstract waitlist for 5 years 😅 but hey we all have our own opinion 😃
I disagree with the notion that omega is doing the same thing as rolex in terms of making thing inaccessible. I own both omega and rolex. Paid a deposit for this snoopy in 2020. Despite the pandemic slowing things down, I still got it this year. Things to note: I never bought anything from this boutique prior to the snoopy. I was willing to put down a deposit before I knew any details about the snoopy. I still look in awe at this piece every chance I get.
Just to be fair if u can rant on Rolex the day it releases the same way u rant on Omega it would be ideal .....But wait we dont live in an ideal world ...Your a Rolex fanboy and praise Rolex and rant on Omega .. and I'm cool with that...
@@BarkandJack Its alright Adrian...U just need to embrace it...U can just look at ur Rolex release video a month ago and see the stark difference in tone and praise...Its ok to be biased man...Ur not a news agency or paper :)...Its quite natural to feel defensive when probably the best release of 2020 doesnt have a crown as its logo :)
@@watchmedicine7747 Considering the covid pandemic there have been two great releases in 2020, the slimmed down Submariner is now so much better and this awesome celebration watch from Omega which is just so fresh and engaging. All I ask is that reviewers provide balance.
Rolex fanboys are the worst. Yes, Omega is getting boring with their limited releases but what Tudor and Rolex did was so lazy in comparison to this. It would be like sticking a blue bezel on the speedy pro and calling it a day
@@BarkandJack That's just resting on your laurels ... anyway good vid dude and I appreciate that we can both see it differently and just enjoy the hobby
@@BarkandJack there is room to maintain and refine your classic models. They do something different as well. They could both learn that from each other. That aside, omege don't play thier customer for supply and waitlists.
That back is beyond amazing! At first glance I though WTF. Once I saw it in motion I fell in love. At that price I will likely never even tough one of these, much less own one. I do see a major difference between Omega and Rolex. Omega actually runs out. Rolex artificially creates the wait list and makes some people not important enough to buy.
Don't think they are. Its not going into ADs so it a bit like made to order. Not a bad idea to not over or under produce. Taking money upfront isnt great but its a list of certain orders rather than time wasters. Nothing like Rolex like Adrian is trying to imply.
@@Jay-xr3sb Adrian is right about the hypocrisy of mocking an overpriced blue stainless steel sports watch, only to be enamoured by a blue stainless steel sports watch. As for the shenanigans, I guess time will tell. You have to say, though, it's not doing the Rolex bottom line any harm and I don't blame Omega for wanting some of that.
@@craigroberts5965 who's hypocrisy, he has strawmaned omega 'fans' saying they all hate rolex. Rolex tactics are hated buy everyone but those with access (like youtuber rolex fanboys). Let's see if its actually the case on this one variation of one watch.
The difference between this Speedmaster and Rolex Models like the submariner is that Omega comes out with an entirely new Design in one of their watches...they did not just make it 1mm larger like the new sub 🙄
This Speedy is stunning and I would love to have one. Maybe someday when the hype calms down. On your point of limited availability, this is a special watch - no it's not "special edition" but still a special watch - and therefore in demand. Rolex intentionally limits availability on their regular production models. That's a huge difference and like comparing apples to oranges. I can walk into an Omega boutique or AD and walk out with a Moonwatch professional whether I've shopped there before or not - try to say that about any production steel Rolex.
you didn't give the due importance to the 14 seconds it took snoopy to go across the moon, a Speedmaster was used to time a crucial 14 seconds burn during the mission, not just a random count.
Yes, there might be a waiting list for the new Snoopy but this edition is somehow limited. The thing is that Rolex has waiting lists for almost every possible model available. Try to buy the Submariner and try to buy the Speedmaster. Then compare Grey market and waiting lists.
It matters who you know. I wanted the 60th Anniversary James Bond watch, but my local Omega AD couldn't get one. I told a friend who's been a master watch maker for 35 years and he had one for me 3 days later for a mere 500 dollars over list. Once I've saved up the money I'll have him get me a Silver Snoopy as well.
When they called was that just to register your interest or was it because they have secured you one? I contacted my AD but I only have a Rolex history with them so maybe the Omega sales guy will deem me unworthy.
Bark and Rolex. Rolex are the a luxury brand first, like Hermes is for their handbags. They aren't looking to the watch enthusiasts, hence you pay for the name and a few classic designs. You want movements and classy dress: JLC Classic diver: blancpain 50 or bathyscaphe Yes the black sub if you dont mind not actually getting it. Glashutte original SeaQ. Omega seamaster 300m 2500 ceramic and the older 2500 planet ocean is a bargin. Tool diver: sinn Chrono: speedmaster, zenith el primero The basic gents: was the OP but now its rainbow colours and too big. Omega aqua terra all the way (the older 8500 at that) High horology: Lange rather than any of rolexs gold offerings or daytona level pricing. Gmt: the cream coloured grand seiko, or the super quartz. Lange dual time for the rolex gmt money.
i love Love LOOOOOVE this watch. and it deserves the hype. i could care less for the Daytona. just give me this watch and i'll be over the moon. (BTW. and sorry for my ignorance. what's the significance of the Dot over 90 ?. how about the Dot over 100 ??!!. what does it really mean ?).. great episode.. thank you .
I agree that this watch and previous snoopy are over hyped. Fantastic watches, but over hyped. But the difference between Omega and Rolex is that only 3-4 Omega's watches are hyped (mostly limited speedy editions) while almost EVERY Rolex sport watch in steel is over hyped and over priced. Also, waiting lists for Rolex watches are still waaaaay longer than Omega's. Anyway, both Omega and Rolex produce fantastic watches, they are both legendary brands.
The difference of course is that here we have a single special edition model that will be difficult to get your hands on. With Rolex, every sport model is going for wildly above retail. My nearest Rolex boutique legitimately has zero watches in stock. Walk into any omega boutique and you can buy any of their flagship models exactly at retail. With Rolex we are talking about entirely an different universe of hype train and price inflation.
This is a homerun for me. I see everyone flocking to this model even Rolex fanatics because it is. Spectacular piece. So is fair to say this piece has crossed over and made a massive splash
your point on rolex vs omega hypocrisy would be valid if it wasn’t every damn rolex... seriously a fuckin sub? Can’t get a sub at retail? gtfo I can walk into any omega AD or boutique and walk out with almost any watch that day. I walked into Rolex and they told me i’m searching for a unicorn in regards to a black sub lol
I like it, but am not a fan of the glass on Speedies. The dome on the crystal is going to get banged. I understand that sapphire crystal glass is very hard, but I am not willing to put that to the test. I think the watch is incredibly attractive from the side-on view, even though it's very deep. The manufacturing is superb.
I love your channel and i love your videos but with all due respect, Omega is still sooo different than rolex even with release of the 321 Ed White and Snoopy 50th. With omega you dont have to buy so many watches that you don't like just to get on the waiting list of a steel watch that you want (probably the onle rolex you want to get). First, the quality/price of Omegas is waaay better, second if you buy or happened to have bought a speedmaster professional a while ago you can call your boutique and they will put you on the waiting list and GUARANTEE that you'll get one without the bull***t that you normally hear from Rolex ADs and Thrid, the waiting list won't extend more than a year tops. I do believe that even if Omega becomes like Rolex it would be justified and deserved. Greetings
But you can buy any normal not special edition Omega at retail or less at any AD at any time. It's ridiculous to compare one special edition with the hole line up of rolex and say Omega does the same thing as Rolex.
I like how at the very end you slip in the reason many of us are not Rolex fanboys... because they do this to almost every watch in the brand. Walk into most any AD and you'll find an empty display case except for three ladies watches, a Chelini in rose gold, and a Date-Just with the fluted white gold bezel that no one wants. Plus maybe a Milegaus or something from three years ago. That's it. No Sub's, GMT's, Explorer's, Daytona's... Omega is pulling this crap on one watch, ONE.
Follow up to my previous comment: Just went to the Omega website where you can sign up for the waitlist, no deposit required. Also just got off the phone with my local AD. Even though he is not a Boutique he will be getting some in and my name is also on that list. Not only was a deposit not required he was specifically directed by Omega NOT to collect one. These are going to be hard to get and they will probably go fast (and the secondary market will be nuts) but there is no way this compares to the nonsense Rolex would be putting you through.
I am so glad I've read your post because I have had exactly the same experience but @Bark and Jack won't have it. I phoned the Omega boutique in Birmingham and my local independent AD who have have both put me on their respective lists without even having to pay a penny deposit, never mind the full amount as Adrian says some of his viewers reckon they've had to pay! To be fair to him he has responded to my posts about this a couple of times now but refuses to accept he's being lied to. I suppose it's just as possible that it's Rolex fan boys putting such bullshit out there to suit their agenda than it is anything else. I am number 130 something at the Omega boutique but number 4 with my AD who has ordered 5 so I am hopeful I'll pick up my Snoopy by this time next year, fingers crossed lol
@@charliezobel511 He tries to fair and balanced, but Rolex is his brand and he's pretty up front about his status as a "fanboy". I think he gets a bit chaffed when another brand (successfully or not) pulls the waitlist trick that Rolex has made so famous and used to such great effect in creating the illusion and perception of exclusivity. They're nice watches but I refuse to go through the contortions required to get one. But if you do buy into the brand, you buy into the myth as well. It's a package deal.
@@tomscott4438 in this vid he's wearing a Hamilton which is part of the Swatch Group, same as Omega, so he can't be such a Rolex fan boy surely. I would love a Batman or a Root Beer but there ain't a cat in hell's chance of me weighing on over list price for either hence I have really bought in to Omega in the last year 'n' a half. I got myself the two tone sedna+steel Diver 300 last summer, then in the Autumn I got the 007 Commander's watch because I was offered it at a really great price. It was an impulse buy and I did end up feeling the James Bond branding on it was a bit over the top almost immediately after getting it. Though I took a 200 quid hit on it to trade it in for the three hand orange bezel Planet Ocean about a month ago my AD let me have the new'un at 20% discount and at the pre September price rise RRP too so that more made up for it! I won't be trading either in for this Snoopy though so I will have to work out how I am going to fund it because I won't do it 'interest free for 24 months' as I won't get any discount on it that way. Most likely do it on the credit card and get a new card for a 0% balance transfer.
Great video, thank you! I suppose its difficult to say since we don't know the production number and how long it will be in production. But can you guess how it's value would hold up? This would be a HUGE investment for me and not a decision taken lightly, so I'm trying to figure out if it's likely to hold its value or maybe even appreciate? Thank you!
Not a fan of the Rolex/Tudor fanboy whining session, but I am puzzled by the new Snoopy. I see two problems. 1. It looks like a less attractive version of the 2016 CK2998. 2. It might damage the status of the previous Snoopy. I don't have much more to say about nr.1, but nr.2 is a bit tricky. On the one hand they risk torpedoing the one Omega that has actually managed to get some proper Rolex/Patek-like hype behind it. On the other, we all know Omega will keep releasing commemorative watches for every round number anniversary of something, which makes you wonder why the previous Snoopy appreciated so much in the first place.
Beautiful watch, amazing movement, tremendous history and just bloody fun! Omega are killing it in my opinion, and I wear my Speedmasters and Seamasters more than my subs as they just wear better on my wrist. Great vid!!

No one ever talks about the chronograph function or the inexplicable fact that the minute chapters are divided into thirds-meaning, the chrono measurement is 1/3 of a second-?
This watch isn't only available in the Omega boutiques. Granted, the boutiques will be supplied these watches first. But they will become available in other official Omega retailers (expect a wait to get it though).
My first reaction to seeing the case back on the Silver Snoopy was something you'd see in the watch section at the gift store in Disney Land...oh and I absolutely love it. It's fun, different and beautiful. Reading the history in the lead up with the Apollo 13 mission the public was loosing interest in the Apollo missions, Lovell, Haise and Swigert couldn't afford to be like Armstrong who was disconnected from the public. They needed to make this mission fun and interesting...that's with this watch is, fun!!! Buy your tourbillons, buy your grand compilations..they are serious watches they have their place. But Snoopy on the dial and flying in his space module on the back will always bring a smile to my face and that why it has a place.
The history of the Apollo 13 mission and the Snoopy pin Omega received is maybe the best story of a watch in history. That said, Omega beat the snot out of the story for the money. I’ll never afford one but it’s an amazing watch.
It's not exclusive to Omega Boutiques....I am getting mine from my Omega authorized dealer. Boutiques will likely get more than the ADs...but it's not boutique exclusive - at least in the US. I know boutiques in the US were also taking 50% deposits back in December of 2019 for this watch as I was offered such. Will be interesting to see how long it takes folks to get one who were not already in the queue for one.
Yes, omega has sooooo many “limited editions” but I’ve always loved the Silver Snoopy, but that’s because of its history with the Apollo 10. Great video!
People love what they can't have... Dig deep and ask yourself this question: "Do I want it because I actually LIKE it, or do I like it because I've been told it's very hard to get?"
Clearly the latter for most, primarily its brand recognition getting something others cant. Also it being guaranteed to be worth more than retail makes it an easy choice.
My local boutique has called me 3 times and e mailed 3 times recently about this watch. Initially it was $500 to hold a place for delivery, now it’s $9300 plus tax which is fully refundable if I don’t like it. I’m going to pass as my Rolex AD came through and I have a shiny new ss Pepsi.
The only problem I have with the speedmaster is there are so many of them. Now the Snoopy is a different proposition, agree the Blue is perfect...now all I have to do is wait for the secondary, which will be out of my budget and end of that...end of story. Thanks for the share A, great content as usual.
Amazingly quick yet thorough overview, many thanks. I love the tongue in cheek style. Also agree the moving case back is a genius move. I wonder how long it will be before we see something like this again soon? I’m surprised they didn’t use the calibre 3201 (expiaget). You can’t blame omega for playing the Rolex game when they can. Thanks again, I look forward to the next review
I mean, to rant on a 6 month waitlist for a piece you can buy at retail and comparing it to Rolex waitlists (which don't even exist for most people) is a bit out there. Pretty clear bias
Rolex has done me a favour, I can't get the watch I want for 12+months & Im not prepared to pay £1500 over retail. It's made me research so many alternatives that are generally cheaper more interesting and more exclusive. Hence watching Omega reviews (I won't be buying this one)
Reson why the 14 second snoopy trip is not just a gimmic is that commerates Omega that was awarded the snoopy award by NASA which no other watchbrand has ever been awarded😉
