Here is a video of a new Omni I just finished with screen accurate globes, they screw on to secure. The video also shows the internals which have a plug in battery charger on one side and a switch (red/ green) on the other. The opening switch is very simple and a filed screw that is attached to the lid, which engages the electronics when rotated, and works very well.
Here is a Gospel message: John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

This is just beautiful! I love seeing all the globes. It's like an Omni workshop.

Very cool! I am wondering, if you could fit an ESP32 with a 1” screen into it and have that screen covered with an acrylic dome. And project the landscapes with an adjustment to the lens effect. Although just for accuracy this is what you want. Incredible job! Joe Did you cast the Omni? Or did you use a 6axis router? Or is it just plastic that’s been painted really really well?!

Hi, thanks! I looked at the ESP32 on adafruit, it looks like just a monochrome small screen so probably wouldn't work well for this application. This Omni is a 3D print designed on tinkercad and 3D printed on shapeways. The material is MJF Plastic PA12 Glass Beads, which is a rigid glass reinforced plastic. Once received the surface is very rough so I had to coat it with a thin layer of epoxy then sand and finish. It was painted and then coated in a clear epoxy.

What kind of battery does it use? Oh, and BTW, that looks amazing!

Great, glad you like it. The battery is an adafruit lithium battery. There are various sizes/ capacities. Works great with a trickle charger and I've never had to replace one once installed.
