I remember an old Soulwax interview where they were asked “what’s one song you would never remix” - probably fishing for like a “Britney Spears lol” answer - and what they said was “‘Blue Monday’ because anything we did could only make it worse”. I guess in the end the only way they could think to square that circle was to kinda make it a shrine to itself

The fact that everytime this song is remixed ends up being a piece of art is purely amzing.
