today I am reviewing the Ordro EP8 wearable action camcorder. My favorite camera for RU-vid has been my EP7, I have done hundreds of videos with this camera and it was by far my choice as a vlogging RU-vid camcorder so I am super excited to review the NEW EP8!
There are many improvements over the EP7 model like the viewing angle is now 120 degrees AWESOME. The EP8 now has Stalight night vision, 7 layer glass lenses
After reviewing and sending back 1 defective unit, I was a little disappointed with the audio and gimbal stabilization on the EP8. Hopefully future firmware will fix the issues!

I plan to purchase one. My question is, can I live stream on RU-vid with this and how? Wired, bluetooth, wifi, phone, or PC?

It won't Livestream through an app, it will wired to PC. There is no Bluetooth unfortunately

There should be new firmware they're working on to make the audio a little better, possibly the gimbal too I will do an updated video once that's released

Camera is way clearer but noticable shakier and audio worst. I think you should use the ep7 till they work out the bugs. I'll get seasick watching the new one.

Funny, I'm watching this because my daughter just gave me one of these cameras and realize after a while that I recognize this voice, then I see the Brozz 250 and ding ding! I've watched some of your reviews while shopping for a Dual Sport bike. Almost bought an Amazon bike based on your reviews but decided on the Kawasaki KLX300 instead.

Excellent video quality, audio quality under adverse conditions, not so much. I'm going to take a wild guess and say the EP8 was made for people who's idea of an action sequence is fighting for the last can of soup in the pantry. 😏

A deadcat might work better than acoustic foam on your mic hole. You can probably cut one down and stick it on with double sided tape with a hole in the middle.

1 good video 2 stabilization could be a lot better 3 microphone is good until challenged and then is terrible 4 low light is not too awful bad 5 white balance is a bit washed out at times Conclusion: fix 2 and 3 and it would be great value :D

Did not get a remote with mine. Have issues with the side of my head and hair being seen. Can see the camera lens off to the right with peripheral vision, yet the camera has no option to angle away from my head. Is there an option for an extension to mode the camera away from the head mount? Not crazy about their headset, and that the other side of the headband could probably use a counter-weight. Swapped to 20K mode to enable camera mode while using the video. That feature does not function on the 14K mode, oddly. Pan on taking it out on a ride on the recumbent trike. Have a GoPro & Ricoh Theta SC2 I use when am out and about. Was hoping I could use this camera to take photos of critters I see along the way, especially birds. Sad part is from off to actually taking a photo is 8 to 10 seconds at best. Most birds have done flown off or out of view by then. Takes 4 seconds for the audio clip to go off on start-up, and another 3 to 5 seconds for the Taking A Picture - pause - Snap to go off. Annoying. The audio needs to be shorter, or have the option to turn that audio off for faster picture taking. Video mode is actually faster by 2 to 3 seconds. Unsure how sharp this camera is, and why I thought of trying the 20K mode, one step up from the 14K mode option. Think I will search for some foam to place over or inside the microphone. Not exactly sure how to go about that. The camera only arrived yesterday and was unboxed today. Not finding anywhere to purchase the remote separately though.

The link I put should have had remote, to angle and adjust left to right I had to bend the metal bracket a bit like in video. Startup. Yeah...slow

Thanks for your report. So are you disappointed with this camera? I looking for small light head camera cause my go pro is to big and ugly to use on the streets. But looks that Ordpro dont have quality for a $200 camera. Do you suggest still using Go Pro? Or do you know another fair option? I won't spend 200 dollar in a crap camera. I also check that don't have option to change the side camera. I will record while driving and obviously must be the on the left side. Weird.

@alissonmauro5349 I think the EP7 was a better camera, but if you are using it on a bicycle or something with any speed where you'll get wind in a microphone you will be disappointed with any of the Ordro's. I've tested many cameras and unfortunately GoPro has the best image quality and sound quality while riding. Doing my e-bike reviews, I mounted a GoPro on the front top of my helmet that I use and used an external mic that points toward my mouth and I can go 30 mph plus and it rarely picks up any wind noise.

Thanks for real usage videos. Video quality well lit is just ok except for the clipping while driving. Low light is passable. Stabilization is medocre but better than nothing. Audio is good. I think the OhO glasses have better video but worse audio.

The EP7 is actually better than the EPA in my opinion. But I think they are both better than the OHO glasses. They are the best option other than wearing a GoPro on your head or chest

Firmware update now shows camera view being upside down. Cannot find any way to put the view back to normal. No way can this be ward on the left ear...

@@MotoCheez I have not been able to find such a thing on the EP8. And yes for firmware update. Did a search, found EP7. Clicked the link, scrolled down and found EP8, downloaded and installed EP8Jun 27 2022_V1.2.9 and everything flipped upside down.

@@MotoCheez The firmware update has bugs. Did a reset through the pin hole, nothing reset. Wished the software would of or could of made a backup, but nope. Copy EP8.BRN to the memory card, turn unit off and back on, green/blue flashing, turns off after a while. And everything is upside down. Taking a video, no issues. Taking a photo in video mode now shows a black screen with a white X in the middle. Bad update. Take a photo normally and it does, upside down. Was planning on giving this EP8 another roll this weekend. Sure I can flip photos and videos over, but seriously, why? And why is there no automatic ground leveling. I'll stick with my GoPro 6 Black. It is reliable, and takes 2 seconds to record. And bought an Insta360 X3 to learn. This EP8 has been such a let down for me. And I ordered some Camera Mic Windscreen (ASIN B07YFBF89S) to put over the microphone to remove the wind noises. It was horrible on a 3 camera comparison. Was going to give it another shot. Is there s button combination to rotate the screen??

Sound is really muffled now, I guess it doesn't have input for lapel mic or anything. Wish you recorded at 60fps, seemed like you have the option on the drop down menu.

Why is such a simple device and design only limited to Ordro? I've seen an add with a similar looking device for the visually impaired where it will describe whats in front of her when asked. It will read thinks out to her as well. Seems to me we are yet again being kept from technology. According to Stephen Greer we had 'hover vehicles' back in the 60's like the cartoon 'The Jetsons' I expect theyve had them in their underground tunnels and cities all this time.

The image stabilization looked miserable, Runcam 5 does the same quality for the price of 1/4. - I still prefer my Gopro 7 black.

Like the GoPro I have a 1000ma battery on my helmet, but as far as headgear 1 hour isn't enough, and greasy fingers when working in the middle of a projects kinda stinks lol

The original is still big 'but super reliable ' But have you thought about the DJI action 2? Its a smaller little baby. On sale for 339$ now.

I did look into those. Battery is a big concern, those have horrible battery life and how do you do hands free, like glasses or headband

So it looks like they're relying on it's built in magnet. So! They make headband mounts where it just magnetizes to it. But there's a case, that gives it that go pro style mount. The one on sale for 339$, apparently has a battery pack. Of course that makes it gopro size at that point. But it also has this neck strap that comes in the box, that'd probably work very well with 155 fov. But of course....339$ is alot

EP8 has better low light performance but the image is noticeably more stable on the IP7. The EP8 is too jerky.

I honestly don't believe that the image stabilization was working correctly I did contact or draw and they said they sent it to their engineering team and they're going to try to send a software firmware update

I'd buy the Ep8 but guess what?? The EP7 HAS FAR BETTER AUDIO QUALITY! I NEED to hear others calling me names. Not just me talking. Supposedly the ep8 has an extra 40° FOV. BUT that doesn't appear to be the case here!??? 🤔

You're right! Audio poor, stabilization is poor. I was disappointed with the EP8 and no firmware update like they promised. EP7 is a better unit. The audio is louder.on the EP8 though, so loud it clips with loud noises.

I wasn't either. The EP7 works better for what I need. Over 2 hours battery too. Motorcycles I use GoPro on my bikes

Man this camera is garbage! Even with the built in gimbal it's jumpy as hell, the video quality is no more then 480p. Stop buying this junk and stick with GoPro and DJI Osmo products. Anyone who says this video quality is amazing has never used a quality camera.

I have GoPro, hands free solutions are crap for GoPro. The Osno is good, but battery life stinks on it and the gopro. It's 4k, I don't know what you're watching it on. I've reviews dozens of action cameras now, including glasses. But I agree. This camera stinks, the EP7 was way better

@@MotoCheez You started out filming with the 7, the video was washed out had a blue tint and just looked bad over all. As far as hands free options for the GoPro and Osmo they share the same mounts. Hat clip, Head mount and chest mount are all viable options for hands free filming. I use all of the at the off road park I work for.

Video was inside LED lighting Thos option stink. Eye level is always best, and you look like a dork with the headgear.
