GAMB = SWAC Power & Watts WITH MEAC Finesse Versatility & Arrangements. NOASB definitely did what they do (Powerful & Clean No Doubt), but they could not match GAMBs Arrangements ( Balance, Intonation, Dynamics, Full Chords “With a Bottom,” and overall symphonic sound). There were times GAMB sounded literally like a college band. Some rounds were a draw, but in many rounds GAMB EXECUTING Complex Arrangements really showed their versatility. GAMB got the edge because they gave us BOTH Power AND Finesse!
My band director always told me music is like art because the more details you have the better Your finished product will sound…. That being said GAMB punished them boys. I expected more from the juggersnots . This the Best audio out so far tho !!
It maybe could have been a tie if Georgia didn't keep screwing up on the field and ran out of songs in the stands. N.O. definitely took the win.. They went the distance.
Just because it's not a major hbcu band in GA. Don't mean we don't have players I'm glad they went and showed Folks especially in Louisiana that our talent is just as good.
@@reginaldjohnson9628 we do I'm an I'm from Fortvalley I know. It's just we don't have a perennial power year in year out. That's all I'm trying to say
It would be great to have Morris Brown back on their feet soon. They regained their accreditation earlier this year. GAMB directors and coordinators should collaborate with Morris Brown. Just my thoughts.
@@EarthAngel504 he said what he said we ran through maab and now ran through noasb like y’all been saying we was a gym battle band but the clips don’t lie…. Now bow down to the supreme super all star band Thee muscle
It's so crazy how thong song was originally written for Carver high School back in the day. And outside of a couple of years of All-Star bands, very few sound better than Carver did back in the day playing that song. Definitely like that they keep that in the book as a tribute to Old School New Orleans.
in my honest opinion, i think the difference between No and Ga is, Ga. is full and N.O is powerful.. Ga. have a sound that surrounds you and N.O have a sound that smacks you. which makes sense, since Ga is bottom heavy and N.O is more so top heavy. That being said. I would have paid a lot of money just to see these 2 bands combine and play just 1 song at least. Just 1.
Dude.. after the last song, i said the same thing.. Man i how they secretly go together to surprise everyone with a song or 2 with both bands combined... Man people would have lost their shit hearing all that power.. They should set something like that up some time in the future.
Lmao.. dude. If you're saying a band lost the whole battle because they played 1 college song. i can assure you you're not qualified to be judging any battles. Dude. Georgia was sloppy as hell on the field, and ran out of songs in the damn stand while N.O. Kept blowing at them. You are completely delusional if you think Ga took the win.
@@EarthAngel504 them boyz tried too play on go a Texas song just too shake things up and couldn’t do it Georgia won das it plus NO played more than 1 college song the first damn song they played was power A SU ARRANGEMENT look no disrespect too them I fw them but yeah GA took it
@@AntonioSilva-ib3rt No, GAMB definitely lost the field battle but sounded much better in the stands and i gave them the slight edge over N.O. in the stands. Because they sounded better than N.O, that and the fact that N.O had to massive drum section and Lack of Tubas, that's the only reason i gave Gamb the stands battle, nonetheless, technically speaking, that's more of a draw. and that's not enough to take the crown from N.O. that aside. Gamb definitely get props for stepping over everybody and becoming N.O #1rival. although i'm not surprised since as long as i could remember N.O and Georgia have always been big rivals in everything. There is 1 thing i'm dying to see though. I'd pay good money to see these 2 bands combine and just play at least 1 song together.
Y’all only had crowd reactions for the first two songs after that even the commentators shut up after that y’all people knew what it was just give gamb they props
NOASB Won the field 3 to 2. I think Overall GAMB Arrangements we’re better, BUT not executed ON THE FIELD (they lost the rhythm then recovered). Bay City was the BEST Song played on the field a long with NOASB Let it Whip. Again, NOASB was super powerful, but also CLEAN on The Field. In the stands GAMB Won. They actually executed those amazing arrangements AND Matched and at times had more power, energy, and intensity than NOASB which is saying A LOT. NOASB definitely represented who and what they are and they were pushing MAJOR Watts and most of their songs were cleanly executed. The arrangements were simply not on the same level. At times GAMB literally sounded like a college not just with the power, but with the dynamics, balance, intonation, and complexity of their arrangements. If I had to give an example GAMB had SWAC Power & Watts WITH MEAC Finesse (Clean, Balanced, In Tune, Controlled, Symphonic) sound with GREAT Dynamics and musical arrangements. Being VERSATILE (Arrangements, Clean, With Power) is why GAMB Won The Stands. 10 Songs really gives you a good chance to see how “versatile “ your opponent is. Can you match our power? Can you match our finesse and arrangements? GAMB gave you everything IN THE STANDS.
@@planetpressureprod6302 We had the numbers but didn't need them to smash y'all.. we de it without having to have a huge band : we had power and songs. You can hear it clearly. Numbers don't mean shit to us.
even though Georgia songs was out of tempo and falling apart on the field, And they ran out of songs in the stands.. You still say they won??? Lmao.. the cope is super real.
@@EarthAngel504 Bro. Just stop. And yes: with losing both those rounds on the field, they won. Everything else you say is emotion so I don't need to respond to that 🤷🏾♂️
@@FatherGoood there were minor timpo issues on 3 songs GA played and that was literally their only "mistake". NO trumpets were nonexistent and the tubas were just bad. Missing notes falling off the high notes they couldn't reach, same as trumpets. Power was awful for the tubas and trumpets, that last note smh. That's too many mistakes to take a W. NO don't win by default when the other band makes one mistake. GA won every round including the drum battle. NO don't get no head start
Only thing GAMB did was screw up on the field and run out of songs in the stands. Gamb got blown back to buckhead..the camera don't lie. also Gamb have over 30 Btones and 24 Tubas.. there's no way New Orleans should have been dealin with Gamb the way they did. Gamb way to big for that.
Jaygo ehhh, I’m not sure what video you’re watching. NOASB won the field yes, but it was an outright slaughter in the stands. Even NOASB directors admitted the L…see y’all at Tara next summer 💪🏾
I agree, when Georgia screwed up soo bad on the field with their horrible tempo and their songs falling apart, you're right it wasn't even close.. New Orleans didn't have to run song after song after song on Ga when Ga ran out of songs in the stands.
ayo. ima give a down the line cut bruh. Georgia was coming with heat they are good. but I see ALOT of Georgia people or people who hate noasb trying to claim Georgia murked my city....pls stop lying to yourself just to get a like. this was a good and close battle bruh no lie. it all comes down to your own taste.
Even though Georgia songs were falling apart like a cheap suit on the field, making them sound sloppy as hell. you still trying to say Ga took the win?? lol, You Copium addicts in Ga. smh.
@@pointblank5750 let’s also stop acting like they sounded great 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ I’ve followed both bands so let’s just say this wasn’t their best performance ♥️🖤♥️🖤🙅🏾♂️
and I love how they keep disrespecting the drummers. bruh yall never even played in a band before cause if you did you would realize the drummers does more work than the horns. yall need to do better.
Who is that trumpet player from GA that keeps straining to hit those high notes and messing the songs up by holding over. Prof. Edwards would not like that.
GAMB arrangements was supported by a GREAT b tone section . While noasb didn’t hold anything back from their section . It’s all about wat you like as a musician . If you like power with upper brass smashing with a good decent ass trumpets line ? Then noasb won .
@@beastatsax556 you heard them . You didn’t hear them over because the other parts were just as blended . GAMB had arrangements where you had to hear the trumpets because other parts weren’t as blended ..
I'm just amazed how these people trying to completely ignore how sloppy Georgia was on the field.. All except maybe 1 or 2 of their songs was hella off tempo and was starting to fall apart.. I guess they feel if no one points it out, they'll try to act like it didn't happen.
I guess everybody trying to ignore how Georgia was sounding big and sloppy on the field because their songs was starting to fall apart like a cheap suit.. Just go back and pay attention to Georgia's 2nd. 4th and 5th song and watch how the tempo was screwed up and their songs was falling apart.
New Orleans Area 51 was a Monster. and a song Georgia played, i don't know the name, but they was the best 2 songs of the night. However, i didn't care so much for all the elevator music Georgia was playing. Georgia can be a beast when they want to but like people was saying, most of their songs was loud and boring.
@@pointblank5750 No.. you just pay attention to confirmation bias.. As big as Georgia was they could, or should have slaughtered New Orleans.. but they didn't. I said over all, New Orleans definitely took the Field battle, But Georgia Slightly had the edge in the stands. And we're not gonna talk about how they are trying their damnedest to sound Swac. GAMB sound good but we all know they're trying their hardest shamelessly to be and sound like a SWAC band. lol
@@EarthAngel504 GA shitted on NO in every aspect lol. GA made NO look like a classic rootypoo band. Ain't no summer band "SWAC" lmao so just accept that NO has no chance of ever winning against GA in the future lol
@@pointblank5750 Oh. So you're now a Prophet?? lol. well, as they say, Opinions are like assholes, Everyone has one. So you are entitled to your opinion. No matter how out of touch with reality it may be.
Nah, that’s physics. Tubas are miles away from the mic plus lower frequency sounds travel slower through air. You should be able to tell from horn movement that it doesn’t match. I still blame GA for a bad setup but it’s not from them playing “sloppy”
@@mooster7 Yes, it was a tempo problem, I know what being off tempo sounds like my dude,. Also, I've also heard it from other channels of this battle who was recording in the middle of both bands walking back and forth.. Not sure if you're trying to gaslight me or you're being honest. But I do know physics well and i know that is Very possible to sound off tempo when recording from certain distances, However, like i said, i've heard the same from other videos. Also, if it wasn't a tempo problem, it would happen on every song, and not just 2 or 3. Not to mention, it was a few dudes from Ga who said GAMB been having tempo problems before and they hoped it didn't happen for this battle. Nonetheless I feel what you saying about physics and i know it is very possible but i checked it out from other videos to see if it was a physics or tempo and it's their tempo. But i also agree about their set up.. when anyone have a band that's big and powerful like GAMB or N.O. it's always best to compact them as much as you can, because with physics, spreading them out like that at a great distance can cause that problem as well. It can make a band think they have a tempo problem when they don't and it's all from their set up.
GA mellos was cleaner and stayed in the pocket until it was their time to shine. That's how sections are supposed to play. Not over powering the melody and entire band just to be loud and distorted. NO gone get embarrassed AGAIN next month smh
TO ME GAMB SOUNDS LIKE A POLISHED DEGA & THAT'S A COMPLIMENT, BUT THAT'S ALL. DON'T GET IT TWISTED, IF NOASB HAD THE SAME AMOUNT OF INSTRUMENTALIST AS GAMB, IT WOULDN'T EVEN BE CLOSE.😏
🧢. GAMB had better arrangements, book, and balance. You could argue that NOASB would’ve been louder, but would that be a dub? Ppl need to stop making excuses. This was a clinic
NOASB should not have wasted so much energy running around Acting a Fool during the field battle, maybe they would done a better job in the stand battle. Slight win for NOASB on the field battle, but in the stands it was ALL Georgia!
