So glad you went to Dookie Chase restaurant ... historic and the food is great by all accounts. Dookie's wife, Leah, was also an integral part of their story. After Hurricane Katrina she led the effort to restore the restaurant and was successful. I have her book "And Still I Cook." Full of wonderful recipes!

Love your videos!! Just a heads up, that wasn't boudin in the gumbo. We call it "fresh sausage" or "green sausage" here in Louisiana. It's regular sausage, just not smoked like the other. Keep the great videos coming guys!! :)

Definitely do a tour of Caesars. When I went, they were just getting ready to change and it was Harrahs. I was so excited because you could order a beer from the slot machine, but it automatically charged you too. Kind of used to having them bring you a drink and then tipping at that time. Also when we went to Cafe Beignet the line up was down to the street and it was so hot waiting in the sun....

Sazerac House is just a couple of blocks from Caesars on Canal and Magazine. Any plans on trying that? My first visit to Parkway Bakery was when my maw maw and paw paw took me there as a child. I won't say exactly how long ago that was, we'll just say that The Beatles were the new big thing at the time. Back then, the place looked like it would collapse upon itself. That was back when the New Orleans motto was, "the worse that a place looks on the outside, the better the food is inside."

I concur about going to the Sazerac House. It's a wonderful free tour that includes samples plus a lot of information and hands-on activities. A highlight on a hot day since it's air conditioned plus the staff were so friendly. Pro tip: make a reservation via their website.

Yum, you had me at New Orleans! Everything you ate looks wonderful! I live in northern Michigan and have red beans and rice cooking away in my slow cooker. Well, not the rice, but you know what I mean. 😃 I include lots of meat and Andouille sausage in my red beans and rice. Crystal hot sauce over the top when serving. Thank you for bringing us along! Great Vlog!! I have had beignets from both Cafe Du Monde and Cafe Beignet and Me and my friend couldnt really tell the difference taste wise. Smaller crowd and great New Orleans mood music adds a plus to Cafe beignet!

I have been to Harrah's now Ceasers. I would love to see what it's like now. You two had alot of fun it appeared. Sooʻ much good food. Just loved it all. lol loved it So just so you know there is no Cheese in Hogs Head Cheese At all It’s assorted pig parts slowed boiled with the feet and the skin So the collagen breaks down and when cooled makes the jelly than the part parts and skin are chopped up and added then the broth Put it in the fridge and it sets up like a meat jello They also add spices But no cheese is used Love you guys 😂

You guys need to go to Toast for breakfast. Their crawfish toast is probably the most amazing breakfast I've ever had. My wife loves the oyster toast. We travel from California to go to Toast and check out nNw Orleans while we are there.
