Our family has always lived in Louisiana and we have made many trips to New Orleans, but had never visited the National World War II Museum. Wow, we have been missing out! Our son, Ethan, joined the US Marine Corps on June 11 and we wanted to take a special trip before he left for boot camp. Since we had never been, we could not think of a more perfect fit than this museum.
We had no idea just how vast and utterly immersive this museum was! We had planned on staying about two and half hours but once we say the shear size, we decided to clear our afternoon. The campus is six acres and sits on multiple city blocks. And it is not even finished! There was construction going on while we were there which means more great exhibits are coming!

I love experiences like this that bring history to life for our kids to understand. This is such a different learning experience than learning from a text book in a classroom. Thank you for your blessings!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience there. I went to the museum when I was there in 2011. I can not tell you how much it has grown since then. I liked the interactive aspects and seeing individual stories, but there is so much more of that now. They did not have the dog tags stations when I was there. I also want to thank you or your sons service in the Marine Corps. From the vlogs it is apparent that you raised him well and o be an upstanding young man. You must be so proud of him.

And they had some major construction going on expanding even more! We will have to go back when the new wing is completed to see what all is added. They boys really liked the interactive part and I thought the personal stories really said more than any artifact can! Thank you, we are very proud of Ethan and this path he has chosen!!!

I just went to the Mightly Eighth Air Force Museum in Georgia, and this one is on my "next" list of WWII museums to see. I've met a few people who have been to the WWII Museum in LA and they said it was great. Great video.

I heard at the start the future marine. I would be curious how things are going, and also thank you for your service and I am one of many Americans who are proud of our military men and women.

Lots of information and equipment exhibits. One of the first exhibits is a landing craft from D-Day. in mint condition. I think they should pair it with one of the landing craft that the Germans blew up. The bent metal and shell holes would give a true picture of what the soldiers went through on that day.

I have been to the museum several times however, watching your family go through it as Ethan prepares to leave, I sit here with goose bumps and unstoppable tears...as the daughter of a Marine, I thank Ethan for his service. I agree, the movie was phenomenal.

I could not think of a more perfect trip the weekend before Ethan left for bootcamp than this museum! He had so much more knowledge than we as parents did of the Marine's part of WWII and to see his passion shows he is on the right path! We are so proud of him!!!

Thanks you guys for this video. We're going to be in NOLA Wednesday prior to the Vloggers cruise and will definitely put this on the must-do list. We're staying at the Club Wyndham just up the street. Trying to set-up an agenda for our three full days before the cruise. Be well and see you guys in January! Bruce and Gwen from Jersey. 👍

That was such a great video. I didn't know there was a WW2 museum. I have been reading some books that have dealt with some of the different battles of WW2 and thought I would really like go back and learn some more about all the different aspects of it. Thank you so much for this video! And prayers are with you son as he heads out, as well as those of you at home.

It was a truly fascinating museum and if you get the chance you should definitely visit, especially if you are interested in this time period. We learned so much and it has peaked our interest to learn even more. Thank you so much for your prayers for Ethan!

That kitchen looks more like it's from the late 1940s or 1950s. Certainly it would be only in major cities where you could have a kitchen like that during the war, and only if you were well-to-do. Remember, many (most?) rural areas during the war didn't have electricity or running water (i.e. the stoves were wood-burning and you had to go to the wellhead-often outside-to manually pump your water).

That was an awesome video! I have a question for you hopefully you can steer me in the right direction! My question is: where do I find the spa treatment packages for the Carnival valor ? We are traveling in Dec . Of 2019 and I want to find out packages for couples massages. I have fibromyalgia and my muscles knot up and will need a massage almost daily but not sure if we can afford it . I may just get one couples massage unless it is cheaper to get a daily massage we are going for 5 days sailing out of New Orleans on the carnival valor ! Can u help?

Outnumbered you were? What? You developed a massive army all tucked away on the other side of the world, and it was the USSR the defeated Germany, you / the U.S just took on a shattered defence shell army in France, and did so with aid from the UK and Canada. But you did kick Japan's ass
