We're excited to have so many great local favorite artists & performers gracing the stage and celebrating with us in the community at another free festival here in New Orleans.
People gather for the Under the Bridge in Treme & 7th Ward Arts and Culture Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day event featured live music, food, an arts marketplace and displays.

The mission of the Tremé/7th Ward Cultural District is to preserve, promote and increase awareness of the historical significance of the culture and heritage of musicians, visual and/or performing artisans as well as cultural bearers creating, living and working within the cultural district; emphasize the value of the economic impact locally, regionally and nationally, and; respect the craft of the musicians, visual and/or performing artisans and cultural bearers that continue the practice of generational traditions.
Goals:
Design, promote and implement cultural activity programming, workshops and panel discussions.
Increase awareness of reduced state and local sales tax on original artwork.
Promote Historic Tax Credits to businesses and developers located within the district.
Promote green infrastructure management within the district to protect against repetitive flooding and loss of vital historical documents, materials and equipment.
Maintain a repository of historical documents for future research with academic institutions.
Develop, promote and/or support a cultural workforce with trainings and certifications.
Purpose:
As outlined and sanctioned by the State of Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, The Tremé/7th Ward Cultural District is tasked with "engaged promotion, preservation and experiential aspects of African American arts and culture, through the music, architecture, churches, schools and museums prevalent in the area." Further, The Tremé/7th Ward Cultural District is the designated marketing entity created to increase tourism and economic viability of the district.
The District:
In 2014, The Tremé/T Ward Cultural District was established as a collective of organizations to carry out the initial goals and objectives described in the originally submitted application in 2008 by the "Bayou Road African-American Heritage Cultural District." The boundaries of the district are roughly bounded: (West) Orleans Ave., between N. Broad Ave. to Louis Armstrong Park to N. Rampart St.; (South) N. Rampart St. along the length of Louis Armstrong Park to St. Philip St. to Henriette Delille St.; (East) Elysian Fields Ave. along N. Claiborne Ave. to St. Bernard Ave.; (North) Gentilly Bivd., between St. Bernard Ave., to Bayou Road, to N. Broad Ave., to Orleans Ave.
