Here's a tip: Don't (jkjk)

Practice hitting those tennis balls. You can do surprising amounts of damage if you can hit them, and your healing is AoE so you don't need to constantly watch your teammates. Don't ignore wallriding (and turn on backwards wallride, there's zero reason it should be off), it's your main defensive ability and you're hard to hit when you're on a wall so long as you're not too predictable. Some people use boop to put people in the air and make them easier to hit (since falling is very predictable). I prefer using it to finish kills but I'm also not a top-500 lucio player so don't listen to me. Speed your team out of spawn and don't leave them behind (you're much faster than them if you wallride and leap off). If someone is AFK for a few seconds and gets left behind, go collect them (unless they have their own movement ability). Taxi them to your team. If someone dies and there's a lull in the fight, go taxi them back from spawn (but be careful, you'll get them back sooner but in the meantime your team will be down two players instead of just one). If you and someone else die close together, wait for them to spawn as well and taxi them back to the fight. Use speed during fights. It might not seem like it's doing much because you're already a speedy boi but for your teammates it will be great. Especially speed your rein while he's swinging to allow him to get close to the enemies quickly. If you play other heroes lots, you'll build up a sense for when you would want to be faster if you were playing that hero. Try to have amp ready for when your tank or a DPS makes a play like ulting (don't save it for ages, but also try to predict when they're likely to ult). Amped-speed hog ult is hard to escape from. Same with ramattra ult, soldier visor, genji blade and sojourn ult. If a teammate is anti-healed, you can't save them with healing so your best bet is to get them out to safety as quickly as possible with speed. Often you'll have to make a judgement call about whether to amp up speed or healing (or switch mid-amp) to escape ults. For instance, speed might get people out of Orisa ult quickly, but if you think orisa might fire it early and your teammates are low, amping healing is probably better. Don't forget to heal. If your teammates don't need to get around quickly (everyone's already at point-blank range, for instance) just stay on healing. You only do fairly weak healing but it's continuous, requires no action on your part and heals everyone in your AoE, so you can actually end up carrying a fight just by healing your whole team constantly. Boop is super strong. It can only push enemies forwards, not down, so if you're above someone near an edge, just look straight down and the boop will "redirect" along the floor and push them forward. You can also boop enemies into teammates ults (keep them in mei/doom/orisa ult, push them out of cover into dva bomb, shove them into a hanzo dragon, push them to the wrong side of a sym wall etc.) For beat, don't jump. It activates when you land so you want to land ASAP. If you're near a higher ledge, beat from the ground up to the ledge and it will activate noticeably quicker. There's also a small grace period, so if your teammates are all hiding at the moment your beat goes off, you still have like .8 seconds to get them into line of sight before they miss out on the beat shields. Heal/speed is blocked by enemy barriers. Get through that winston bubble if someone's low inside it. Lucio can pay attention to both teams while still being useful because of his AoE healing/speed. If you're careful, you can track ults, watch for flanks and so on just by not being too tunnel-visioned. It can help a lot with preparing to deal with enemy ults and saving your other support.
