Lava Golem was the clutch card that really took the tournament. It, Santa, and Kaiju crush the Mikanko and Purrely that were trying to make a show for the first time. Big target on Purrely's back. But i'm sure they'll do good next tourney.

Just an FYI about the comment at 8:28, Hu-Li target-prevention effect is active as long as you control a face-up equip card, regardless if she is equipped or not. Hu-Li's not like Ni-Ni where she has to be equipped to turn on her disruption effect.
Pendulums are so mistreated by konami and the players and it's just sad. Kashtira counters them extremely well. They can't even add handtraps or non-engine pieces or they'll have an even bigger chance of bricking, making them so vulnerable going second. They are still under MR4 so they need to sacrifice some material for link monsters They hardly have any one or even two card combos. Pendulums mostly have only one of the pend effect or monster effect that's acceptable viable. Most of the time, negating or even just destroying electrumite or beyond is enough to stop them completely. They don't have that great of a comeback plan. They lack actual boss monsters so most of their boards are the same generic boss monsters. Konami rarely makes pendulum cards because they are afraid of pendulum piles and "soups"

This is why I love blind-second Vaylantz. Going first, the deck loses harder to Maxx "C" than any other deck in the game... it takes a half dozen summons to accomplish anything at all. Going second? Suddenly Maxx does nothing. What are they gonna draw into? Imperm? Good luck using that with my fieldspell in your zone. Ash? One ash blossom won't stop even an average Vaylantz hand. Pretty much all you gotta do is gamble on getting to Apo before they get to Nibiru. No better feeling on earth than punching the opponent in the face for 10K damage while they have the twenty cards in their hand cheering them on.
The Purrely players in this tournament were so bad bro. I mean, delicious is at FREAKIN 3 why would you not be making plump every turn 1 ? that’s crazy

Tribute Endymion, Imperm Fenrir, Ohime search Mikanko Ceremony + discard anything but Rondo, Ceremony to summon Ohime, then banish Ceremony to dump Arabesque, Ohime effect to equip Arabesque to the Kaiju, bounce Kaiju to summon Ha-Re, then Ha-Re effect to add Mayowashidori, tribute Servant, equip Mayowashidori to either Ha-Re or Ohime, equip Rondo to Fenrir, switch Fenrir to attack. Enter Battle, Ohime + Ha-Re attack into Kaiju, after second attack use Mayowashidori to bounce Kaiju, then attack directly with Fenrir for game.
In the tournament I still didn't have practice with the deck. I literally had built it 10 minutes before the start. But thanks for the explanation of the play.
In tournament mikanko is bad because of best of 3 for ladder it's easy breeze because of best of 1 and mikanko plus kaiju is 100%dead for opponent so yeah mikanko isn't top tier but it's a master worthy rank.
Naturia Runick still scares me more than Purrely. Maybe if someone comes up with a good hybrid that can blindside people instead of trying to copy the OCG lists everyone knows about and how to deal with that'll change though. I can already think of some possibilities for that just based on the extra deck options they currently run. Fur Hire variant is no slouch either. Mikanko will be a huge annoyance on ladder just because of how quickly it can turbo through games, meaning it can quickly rise or drop from player to player and be seen at all ranks. Going first builds on Libromancer and/or Dogmatika engines means sitting on an empty board against them won't always be safe either, though mass removal like Torrential Tribute and Needle Ceiling could be helpful. Sunavalon and the Pendulum decks really seem like the only things notably vulnerable to Nibiru right now. Everything else either stops their summons or gets to an answer before then, so it depends on if you see those often in your part of ladder whether it's still worth running.
Naturia Runick is actually more balanced.. FCK NATURIA FUR HIRE SPRIGHT. that sh1t is insane. like literally insane. worst than Naturia cuz at least they have limits and ultimately have to rely on runick.. Meanwhile you can have spam field with Fur Hire and Spright. fcking disgusting what's worst is unlike Naturia which relys on the extra deck summoning Baronne or Naturias.. you can just use them as they have pretty decent effects like Folgo. Also a ban in naturia is super easy. vs finding what to ban against a mix match of these monsters.
Purrely is very likely to prank kids and adamancipator, very similar, the mechanic is similar, the big surprise for me it is minkao, a big surprise for me, I could say it was another ritual but it is more than ritual and very competitive.
fucking hate runick so much. As a branded player, the last duel was so hard to watch. I was like damn, branded fusion causes disruptions not negates, runick fountain causes negates but no hit to 1 or ban
Should be banned if am being honest. Activating Quick Play from hand in your opponent turn is absurd, at least if you set it then opponent could deal with it by preparing for backrow, ain't dealing with activating from hand. And a draw 1,2 or 3 for basically no cost.
As much as I don't like purrely, I think this format is very diverse. Of course there are stronger decks but seeing only 1 deck in tournaments was starting to get boring.
And it's actually diverse! Every deck end on different monsters. Unlike most metas were it might reach 5 playable decks that all end on the same generic boss monsters
First go to your game setting. Then go into Duel. Activation confirmation is I believe the setting name, put it as Switch + Hold. With this, you can hold your left mouse button and the activation will be On, so any quick effect or quick play, trap card can all be activate in the draw phase. Vice versa, hold right mouse button and it will be left as off, the game will not prompt response from whatever cards you have. Generally this isn't very useful but a play you could do is if you have Nibiru, hold right click and let if "Off" so when your opponent summon a bunch of cards and just before they get their negates, you drop Nibiru by let go of Right click and hold Left click. The Switch part of Switch + Hold is you just need to click on the Auto button in the bottom right to switch between Auto, Off, On, in that order. Do what you will with all these information.

My current favorites, rikkas, labrynth (and recently mikanko) are far weaker than branded, but I still get to master rank and I don't cry about the imbalance because I find ways to deal with it... Branded is a top tier deck, once you stop crying, I'm sure you can find ways to deal with it

Dkayed usually have good takes for this game, and I like that. I actually don't really like side deck card too because in YGO there are too many cards that can "too broken" if you already know what your opponent's playing. No side deck means the player should understand META in general and have wise decision about what cards they should play. They should know how to overcome the weakness of their deck in the current META, and how to deal with the most annoying decks in the format. . Some people might say this difficult to predict the popular decks in the tournaments. But in MD, I think it a lot easier than OCG/TCG. This game have a lot of community tournaments and we can track them easily in internet. We can see what strong in ranked too. And we can use OCG/TCG past META as references what will be good deck at the time. . No side deck push the knowledge of players, to understand the game even before they play the game itself.
Push the knowledge. Oh you mean I have to build my deck to prepare for boards that can setup 2 to 6,7 negates, backrow heavy deck, decks that banish your cards, deck that lock you as well instead of just them from summoning, deck that can spam 15+ handtrap. All of these simultaneously.
Having to alter your main deck in ways that are punishing in other matchups in order to have a possible out to one deck is awful for competitive play even if you know the meta.
hey dkayed do you think with survey whit some cards for example bystials, d rulers ,baron, kashtira and see which one has the highest vote get banne iit more precise because i think people will vote only what the like example i hate the birds deck i will vote for that to be baneed
Baronne is not getting ban any time soon, they just released a pack for it. Dark Ruler no More is necessary in this meta. Bystial only counter Light and Dark directly and some of their cards are advantageous but it's still fair. Kashtira will be their money maker so they won't be ban anytime soon as well, at best they hit Diablosis.
Despite Kurikara basically doing the same thing as kaiju at least the monster gets to use its effect at least one once of course this doesn't mean squat for arrival ignister ;-)@@randumo24
@@ironicliar2029 Except you get to keep Kurikara on your side of the field. In the case of Kashtira, it very well end up clearing the field AND being near big enough to OTK on its own on top of it. The fact that it's not limited to one or two like the regular Kaijus or Lava Golem is what makes Kurikara elite in the Purrely/Kashtira meta. Their cards are always naturally activating effects, thus you have a good chance of clearing the field.
We are back to a T0 format hooray~. No idea what Konami was smoking doing ZERO prehits on Purrely in a meta where Tear got kicked in the balls and Kash is being intentionally held back.
Kashtira is quite possibly the worst possible deck ever created for a format like Master Duel. Sure Tear is dominant in a competitive format, but Kashtira literally makes certain decks like Pendulum for example completely unplayable. That isn't a big deal in irl competitive formats where people are playing almost purely to win. In a diverse format like Master Duel where so many people are playing for fun, it is extremely destructive.
