I feel the same way. This mix immediately caught me more than the previous record. So this style of music with this type of mix definitely has me excited for more from them!
Earth and sky was amazing. Surprised u didn't like it. The mountain was my favorite and the lyrics are super meaningful. This was a very modern om&m song tho. Chorus sounds just like taste of regret. Still good song. I'm sure the album will be great
It's granted that an om&m fan likes the heavy part. But I honestly also like the chill section bridge. Id like them to experiment more with it instead of swapping after two bars, maybe try a soft solo. They can do so much more than what they showcase here.
I dig it, I love the sound and the mix is definitely something they have worked on a lot. Very excited for they have in store for us in the next month.
Fuck yes!!! Was waiting for your reaction brother! 🤘🏻 it has the sounds of Defy and EarthAndSky but I’m fucking digging it for the first song. Can’t wait for the other 2! 🔥🤘🏻
You know what would be amazing, getting Shayley Bourget back to feature on a track, as much as I love Aaron Pauley I miss Shays cleans in OM&M an AP and Shay vocal collab would be amazing.
Better then their last stuff, for me this band doesn't give me that hype anymore that hardcore / metal core now provides. Still a decent song keen to see what their EP brings either way, will allways have time for the band :)
I feel like with Aaron doing screams and cleans there isn’t as much diversity in their songs which leads to a lot of their songs sounding so similar. Idk what it is but I just leave wanting to like their songs more than I actually do
OM&M were one of the few bands I didnt really listen to so as an outsider I like this song; its a vibe for me. I feel though that depending how a song is done it being somewhat generic wouldn't be a issue for me
Always been a fan of them, even the direction they’re goin i like, aarons been good on em vocals as usual just idk maybe personal preference but Austin imo really is that missing puzzle piece on the board, the lyrics and vibes of the songs, the contrast, mix they had was just great. Regardless solid reaction and good track but yeee the chorus I agrée with you on
Just sound like the last two albums. Not saying it’s bad. But it’s getting kinda repetitive. There are a lot bands who still sound the same after years (breaking Benjamin for example) but the execution is a lot better. And now I am going listen to ‘The Flood’ :D
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved OM&M but I honestly feel that since Austin left, it’s just not been the same. Aaron does great for what it is, but Austin is what really made them what they were, for me at least
It’s definitely time for them to bring on "their sempiternal". Just like Northlane did with 'Alien' and other bands as well. I think they need that one LP to move forward - to branch out to something new/special. I know that Aaron is a heavy TOOL Fan so maybe that could bring in that progressive but still dirty and raw vibe. This new song is good and all but just not really unique and it’s overproduced as well.
I think the song is good for what it is but I definitely don’t think this is a “new era” of music for them. Sounds exactly like what I would expect from Of Mice and Men nowadays.
Another great reaction Hard Core, you're honest and to the point, which is what a reaction channel should be. When i first heard this song,i actually really liked it for some reason. I personally didn't think the chorus was bad at all,and the overall sound of the song reminded me of both old Metalcore and New Metalcore at the same time. My favorite parts of the song, are of course the parts where it got heavier, but that's probably because i'm into a more heavier sound of Metal, lol. Overall,i thought it was a pretty good song,of course it's far from the best of Of Mice & Men,but i thought it was cool none the less. If i were to rate it, it'd be a 6 .5/10, yes it was a good song, but there are some parts that they could've done a lot better.
I personally felt like this song just sounds similar or even exactly the same as the last 2 albums. Just nothing really much different. I know that's their sound but a disappointing first single for me.
Not only does it sound like their last album. Listen to the first 20 seconds of the song earth and sky. Then listen to the first 20 seconds of this song. Literally the exact same riff and snare part with minor differences. I have never liked omam but geez man this is identical
They just haven't been the same since Shayley and Austin left. Super flat and no diversity between songs. I love Aaron as a vocalist, but I just haven't been able to get on board with them since he's been doing double duty.
@@RevolutionDrummer47 well, he was forced by some health issues, and i think that now they are as heavy as before, but Austin had something different, his screams were not the classic metalcore screams that every band use...they were really great...such a bad thing he had to leave
I hate to say it but I think I'm over this band unfortunately. The last 3 albums and this song just don't sing for me, but I'm glad others are enjoying it.
@@DrumBoyHG You telling me to "write a chorus" adds nothing to my statement; it doesn't disprove it doesn't agree with it doesn't disagree with it and it doesn't build on it. If you're gonna reply at least give a better response than this half-assed sorry excuse of a response.
