Hi there,
Discovering the fabulousness of Ironlak paint pens/markers... I used to be delighted as a child receiving a new set of coloured anythings.. pencils/paints/crayons... so this was like revisiting that joy.
Seeing the paintings of Elizabeth Cummings was an extraordinarily inspiring experience at the National Art School in Sydney Australia... I share a few pics of her paintings in this video.
And... a page in my journal... hanging out in my studio on a sunny Friday in the late afternoon.

Denise, I absolutely loved seeing you do this painting! The markers are real WOWS though it's a bit too broad of a tip for me but I bet if you had big enough paper they would be a blast! What I really want to know is what kind of paint is that in the big jars like the pink you used for the walls. I loved watching you work with that. And I like working with all kinds of things too, colored pencils are a big part of my work, to draw the image, maybe have a little color to get an idea what it might look like, then I can paint, or use paint pens (I even love using chalk markers that look like posca's but they are washable. You can draw all over a chalk board and just wipe it off.) And ohhhhh, ART SUPPLIES!!! We can never have enough and I think it's fun to use all different kind of mediums in one piece! Love to you sweetheart. I hope your move went well! 🥰

I love the pencil memory-what a cherished item to still have. (I hope they show up sketched in a future piece) I was a “watcher” and monetarily challenged in my upbringing (mom stayed home w us and dad was a schoolteacher) so we were well cared for and spiritually rich but lacking in extra spending money. You and I have so much in common. I so love your creative style❤️

thanks soooo much@@annellalarkey7650 ... it's quite often a quiet experiment making these videos, and so when someone pauses to write me a sweet note I just cannot tell you how much this is a gift... as artists I think we sometimes run on the smell of a jar of paint (not oily rag ha) ... but I look forward to a lot better outcomes for us than that. Yes... we continue to practice. Off we go... back to it. Denise x
