Thanks for the service bulletin info. My 2024 Street Glide has the wiring bundle zip tied. Not sure if it was done at the factory or dealer. The dealer received the bike in February and I just bought it a couple of weeks ago, so I guess the bikes are not “flying off the shelves”, at least not at my dealer. Thanks again for the great videos!
The dealers seem to have many of the new bikes in stock. It is a bummer that they have not been more popular as they are a huge improvement in ride quality. But I do believe many are not sure about the new fairings and the Infotainment system has been a challenge.
The cam in this kit is not VVT, so if you are install it you will lose the VVT. The performance numbers you are quoting are a little off. The performance numbers quoted by HD for the bikes are at the crank, but the performance numbers quoted by HD for the upgrade kit or crate engine (for the first time ever) are actually at the rear wheel, so it is actually are bigger power jump…
The install instructions are showing the VVT system remaining connected. The CAM in the photo looks to have the spacer for it. Not 100% sure but I think the VVT remains. You are correct the kit is noting at the wheel, so yes even more!
I would love to have the 135 upgrade for my 23 CVO, but I live in California and that means none for me. Yes, I can go out of state, but would lose my warranty on my bike. Does anyone know of any loop holes?? Love your show, keep it up!!
Crazy stuff for sure. Not aware of a work around, the bike would be VIN locked so I am not sure even an out of state dealer could apply the flash for the upgrade. We have seen Harley get approvals on these kits but takes awhile and my guess if this kit is popular enough we will see CA approval at some point. Others may have input!
Hey Tom, here’s my thinking I have the 24 CVOST Brand new with only 1 mile on her. I’m considering getting the new 135 crate motor and swapping out my motor instead of doing the upgrade kit you get a bigger crank and my dealership told me the labor is about $400 less to swap the motor. Also I could probably sell the 121 motor with only 1 mile on it for a few bucks to help offset somecost. Your thoughts? Thanks 😊
Yes KOB is the best racing I have seen in a long time! The axle covers are a nice look, worth $50? I am happy with the look for sure, they are well made. On the left side take a rubber mallet and give it a gentle nudge, it will seat further than by hand.
@@ITFZone Just bought a rubber mallet last week. The smooth black axle nut covers will look awesome. Also next week my Harley-Davidson Packtalk Edge will arrive. Have you upgraded?
I have never moved to the Sena 30S it came with. I am still using my 20S from my 2018. I only use it for AM radio during the workday commuting. I know I don't ride enough or have friends! Just virtual ones!
hello again.. I noticed that within my infotainment screen I have an ON/OFF switch for fog lights, but of course I don't have fog lights LOL. Do you know if there is simple wiring harness within the faring that I can just connect to with some HD or aftermarket fog lights or do I have to get a dealer install for some deep wiring by a HD Tech professional. Thank you!!
Hello! Yes there is a Fog Light connector, its under the bike behind the radiator. I know it works with the HD lights but not sure of aftermarket, I would assume so, just a switched 12v but we know the CAN Bus is picky. Reach out to me via email and I can send you a picture. ITFZoneEmail@gmail.com
Appreciate the question, I believe this is to resolve the Android audio switching issue. You can download the file but the PAB article is only visible to dealers. I don't have any inside information for it and with all the issues I help create with the original 1.3.8 video I have been holding. I will ask again about it and see if I can get some detail but I would avoid installing it. If it bricks your amp Harley may push back that it was noted as Dealer Only.
hate to be the bearer of bad news but according to the Q&A for the kit you lose the VVT, same with the crate motor, this is disappointing because because I really like the VVT.
These new ones just push on, on the left side I did tap it with a rubber mallet to get it to seat a bit further, it was sticking out a bit. Just tap it, don't want to dent it!
I am thinking you have the softail part vs the Touring part, the softail axel openings are smaller. For the new touring bikes you are looking for PN 43000314. Mine were very tight and I had to give it some force to go on, there is a left and right side in the box, left side is much smaller.
If your harness is sagging you want to run it through the right opening (looking at the harness). See my video on it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-waPTzQZHPmE.html
My only concern is Harley-Davidson has never been great with introducing new technology in my humble opinion it is more moving parts. I guess time will tell if it's a robust design.
