Official mod support by far. Custom Honor mode is great too but since I've been using mod anyway it's just good. But mod support is amazing for its unlimited potential
Something I think they should add is that if you’re out in the world you can tell a character to head back to camp and send someone else over. Like you spot a trap and need Astarion to disarm it but he’s at camp, you can talk to Lae’zel ask her to wait at camp and ask her to send Astarion over. So you don’t have to go back to camp, try to find wherever he’s hiding and ask him to join you:
Amazing idea dude that would be great! I’m def the type to go back to camp and get each character the moment they could do something better than the other lmfao
I like that idea a lot actually. I remember before patch 6 or whatever and we had to make two conversations. One to get rid of a person and the other to get the replacement
I remember when I got an absolute white hair in the portrait of my custom character from the first live version of BG3, even though I darken the hair as much as possible.
Lol same company that charged $70 for a game that was unplayable for over 4 months, no money back if you play late game meanwhile late game in act 3 is where all the real bugs are. So many bugs that were supposed to be "fixed" just to have to wait months & months for a fix that might not even work...
@xDaPrincex wtf are you on about i bought the game of the first patch the day it realesed . Now i accept that act 3 did some cup heavy stuff but game crushing bugs? I guess you weren't alive when cyberpunk lunched but its ok you still can experience "good company behavior " with ubisoft
@@xDaPrincex It was not unplayable what are you talking about? 70$ for the amount of hours and content you can get from this game WITHOUT official mod support is more than worth it.
All I want is the ability for party members to participate in conversations/skill checks they didn’t initiate. If I’m playing a fighter and Astarion is standing right next to me, why can’t he do the Persuasion Check? If I find that book of dead gods and Shadowheart is right there, why can’t she be the one to do a Religion Check? She can give me Guidance but not help with the actual check?
That was explained in community update 20-something and it was absolutely stupid reason, I think they just can't do that because of billion bugs this feature will bring
@@YouremadbigLit makes so you literally have to play a bard if you want to consistently pass checks, it is not a skill issue it is a problem with the game
@@Anglicanism_go_brr_JLY you realise that failing checks is part of dungeons and dragons, right? you're essentially saying that you would rather compromise your gameplay than fail a roll. you're the person that restarts his game if he doesn't pass a check. and believe it or not, that's not required and is definitely a skill issue if you can't deal with consequences. another reason its a skill issue is that youre not good enough to lead with the character that would pass the skill check and just lead with your protag the entire time since you think you're a god in the game
Yeah if you and another player are playing you can only converse with the companion you control. I’m excited to have more of that banter. Especially sense I play multiplayer more often than solo.
Love love love the honor mode mechanics in custom. :) Already got my golden dice and I do think the honor mode fights are more fun but still wanna be able to try different and even silly stuff without risking it all. :)
Mods have been what keep me playing this game nonstop. Its going to be amazing to get full modding support so people can make new weapons and modes so easily. WE ABOUT TO EAT
I play on my steam deck. I tried to get mods to work with it, but i couldn’t figure it out. Does anybody know if the release of the mod tools means that mods will be available through the Steam workshop?
I think they mentioned a own mod manager so I think workshop compatibility is unlikely Maybe it's accessible through the bg3 launcher or even ingame simular to the skyrim add on tab in the deluxe edition
@Burgerpaws well typically 8 or 9 more than likely with each individual character, then if you want to be evil. Possible even more if you want to make different dialogue choices each time.
Imagine that. A developer still understands what a BETA is for! Working out the UNKNOWN bugs. Not the marketing hype-machine all other devs think it means. They're delaying so they can work the known bugs out of the way and let us try to break it.
I thought my cleric of Lathander failing all her religious checks in the temple was just a result of her falling asleep in class, good to know it was a bug
Isn't it the exact same as when you continue the campaign after you die in honour mode right now? I tried it and it just turns into custom mode with the HM rule set (single save file + legendary actions)
@@SapphicClownLarian was the first to make split screen work this way, with their older games. It's very odd that they didn't include this from the start, as their engine has been capable of this for a decade now.
The mod manager is probably my favourite addition. Base game gave me almost 1000 hours of fun. And mods doubled that! There are SO many insanenly fun mods for bg3, especially new classes!!
I hope the fix coop conversation buffs. As of now, if you are in coop and your partner's companion has guidance, bardic inspiration, resistance etc you can't apply that to your conversation ability checks
Fascinating. Just finished my true Dark Urge playthrough. Not sure what I'll do next but my original vanilla launch day playthrough i never finished because it's glitched.
With all the changes to the last scenes and epilogue, I hope they go back and reshuffle the priority of scenes at the dock. My first playthough was as vamp spawn Astarion and since it's resolved pretty early on, it means me as a player was gone before Karlachs ending was resolved and as such the players isn't there to even talk to her, much less have a chance of persuading her to go with Wyll.
I've heard that approved mods will be coming to console and I am so excited, as I've seen so many amazing mods that I wish I could play. The roguelike mode, different races, artificer class, the gun mod, I am so hyped if it's true
Most of these mods will be available to xbox not playstation due to the fact that Microsoft allows their console files to be accessed to a certain degree while sony does not skyrim and fallout4 are great examples
@@Dova722 There would be a massive riot if that were the case, and I'm positive Larian Studios is going to make it so equal content for all platforms it's on. It's the one game company that cares about the fanbase
@dannydanggang1675 not really if Sony won't allow it they won't sadly that's how they are about modding and or cheating is how they see it. That's why I'm probably going to buy the game on Xbox
@@Dova722 I'm putting money down that it's not going to be that way. Besides, the way that the modding is gonna work from what I've heard is that the mods are gonna be approved someway, and make their way over to the consoles from PC modding, and consoles just can't mod but can play them. So it's not technically modding the game, it's just adding to it in terms of consoles.
If you give the Gith egg to the Society of Brilliance, they do cruel experimentations on the baby, rapidly age him up, and instill a morality that is so black and white that he slaughters them all because he realizes that they themselves are awful people deserving of the justice they instilled in him.
I'm glad they're changing the expression you have when kissing Ascended Astarion it was lowkey goofy as hell to have my character looking so scared every time I kissed him when she's just as evil as him and also totally into it lol.
@@calvintyler9281it doesn’t matter. People ascend him because he’s hot. So nobody wants to see their character act scared, they wanna look strong and confident and as horny as they are. My gosh.
I reaaaaly hope they fix the companion follow bug where your party refuses to follow you. It's happened twice to me this week and lost a couple hours of progress.
i've enjoyed this game so much and it's always in a part of my head after 350h+, honor run and all i thought it would be unreasonable to play more, these patchs would encourage me trying another run again but i secretly wait for a DLC with more story, i don't know how they could do it but a DLC would make me happy.
I do wonder what the reason was, to only allow co-op players talk to the party members they are controlling. My guess is that, it prevents relationships and scenes being forwarded by a different player. But I’m not sure.
Yeah it's not a big deal, you still only have a single save even after you die however. With the update being able to select honour mode encounters in custom difficulty should be independent of a single saves.
What I really wanted is begin a new game with a full custom party (not using hirelings). And a new game+ that you could go to lv20 (with multiclassing, of course) and even more dangerous enemies.
It’s kind of a pain to set up, and I agree that I would much rather see it fully supported, but you technically have a full custom party, assuming you are on PC. You can actually run multiple copies of BG3 at a time, join the extra copies to your main game as 2nd through 4th players, and create a character with each and then leave the game when you load into the Nautoloid. Your primary game will be able to use the custom characters going forward.
Don’t know if peepz know this, but u can copy your singel save to a different folder when playing in honor mode on the pc. When u f. Up or die, just delete the save in game and copy the folder and files back and you are back in your honor play through. If u are handy u can script it through a batch or powershell.
If they really want to give evil playthroughs more options, forget the endings. Give us a way to keep the goodie two-shoes companions either by mind control or enslavement or some other means. FFS you gave good aligned players a way to get the only evil exclusive companion. Why not do the same for us?
I did my last playthrough with Patch 3, and I have been waiting for the release of the modding tools since then to get another one in. I can't wait for its release and then a couple of weeks for the mods to update.
My husband and I play split screen alot, we’re both really excited and a little nervous about the update lol. Seems like it’ll be super nice to have the screens merge but what if we hate it!
"We all knock her out", "That's how you get Minthara, basically" *stares in Sided-With-Minthara-On-First-Playthrough* As a long time Minthara fan I'm glad we at least got a mention of her, hopefully these aren't the extent of changes (she still has Act 3 romance dialogue that's broken, like the followup to her calling you Alurlssrin, another "should have been there since launch" bug that's in need of fixing) Anyway if you're looking for more Minthara content, hey. I hear that, if you do the more morally questionable thing in Act 1, you get a lot more scenes with her! Like her only sex scene! And the aftercare follow up scene is fantastic for her character arc, if you were ever wondering how she goes from Act 1 Minthara to Act 2 where she chills out a lot. If you intend to kill the tieflings anyway in Last Light Inn (by getting Isobel captured, or killed, or Shadowheart becoming DJ Shart) you might as well kill them in act 1 and get a great companion out of it without any exploits whatsoever!
I really wanna see a true fully evil path for BG3. Currently you get massively punished if you decide to play the evil path.Your reason for being evil isnt as convincing as a good playthru. You miss out on companions and their side quests and you dont get an evil alternative for the missed companions. You miss out on powerful gear locked behind quests from good-aligned NPCs and overall you miss important story elements/quests from these NPCs. How cool would it be that in act 1 you can recruit (other than minthara) True Soul Gut, Dror Ragzlin and flush out their stories a little bit ? Or maybe recruit other actors in the game that arent necessarily true evil (think of characters in ACT 1 and 3 that are Neutral or evil Aligned) ? I also wouldve loved an option to have a companion of each class (talking about bard and monk here Im aware that most of the other classes are recruitable in some capacity)
Mods are great! I haven't looked into whether there is an option in BG3 but I know fallout and skyrim were massively improved by the ability to introduce Randy Savage as a deathclaw/dragon.
9:10 yeah, I saw the minthara bug the first time I managed to recruit her. Also, I hope they fix her pathing issues in the prison-if you go into the oubliette to break the back walls, she spawns back at cell 3 instead of at the illithid oubliette exit (easy fix if you go back and open the cell doors, but still annoying).
Yup. I just finished a playthrough where gale was a artificer and found the steel wather scroll. Which is the same as the battlesmith companion. But explodes when low health like the actual watchers. It's awesome.
Alright, guess I'm waiting for my next playthrough until this comes out lol. It'd be nice if they did a Minthara character update tho, make her into a fuller party member. This will be the first time I have her in my party and I heard shes great but not totally up to par with the others content wise.
yeah group banter is very restricted when you play in multiplayer because your friend would have shadowheart in their party for romance reasons and if I had lazel for battle reasons, they barely talked to each other.
I've seen nothing on a major issue I've had since launch. Atleast not from larion. So every time me and my brother get to act 3 there will come a time near the mage shop(? Tower? ) where we can no longer progress together. One or both of us can't load in. If we do very few layers are visible and we can only move around. Can't interact or attack anything. We looked it up online and have tried all the things requested there but they were no help. This has happened every attempt from launch till now.
I'm currently playing a Warlock Tiefling(I know, super original) I'm still in Act One, I can't believe how massive Act 1 is. I made a couple of characters first, I feel like Drow is the best race, you'll get so much reaction on your race if you're a Drow. I'm thinking a Drow Pladin who's incredibly faithful to his god and never does anything bad, never lies or cheats would be awesome for roleplaying.
Gith is really cool. You get unique dialogue with Lae'zel and other gith and it's really cool to go against the Absolute as a gith, given the history between the gith and mind flayers
Great update on the update update. Great work as always on spoiler-warned insights and reveals on just how deep this game goes. The mod scene is the DLC I believe, even if it takes a full year to mature once ready to use. Having Steam integration will be awesome.
they need to fix sooo many bugs and oversights with the Moonrise Towers fights and Jaheira. I just played that part in my current playthrough and i had to restart so many times due to bugs with her. she wouldn't join at the end of the Ketheric fight for many reasons like if she was in wild shape, would get stuck in the middle of the roof and was uninteractable and if fear was used on her she dropped her weapons and you couldn't give them back to her. I remember having tons of problems with getting her in the party and staying at camp in my original playthrough like a year ago. it's crazy to me she's still so buggy. i bet tons of casual fans wouldn't be down for replaying large sections over and over so they could make sure she is in their party, which is a shame coz she is a great character.
My biggest complaint with this game is the hair styles. Especially for half orcs. It seems impossible to find a hair I like. I just want a hair overhaul
My question is have they patched the arcane lock cheese for auntie Ethel ? Bout to do it my brother but don’t want to take arcane lock if it doesn’t work anymore
@@Blownkingg I’ve seen a lot of conflicting data most say it’s patched and then some say it still works, some say it’s only patched for anything higher than balanced but I’ve heard otherwise. Not sure what to think tbh
Since they said they aren't making any dlc and they are done with balders gate once all planned updates are done. They should do another table top like vampire the masquerade or werewolf the apocalypse
Minthara has another annoying bug that haven't been addressed in the patch note so it will probably still exist. It's the one that a tiefling always enter combat if Mint. enter combat.
Wonder how much they allow to balance core stuff. One reason larian became unhappy of the current license besides most likely the new ppl they met were not great but the strictness on what they can and can’t do for dnd do to branding reasons including spells word for word.
I'm actually a bit worried about the fix to the 'leap of faith' thing, since that was literally the only method that worked for me without my character instantly dying in really unfair ways for apparently no real reason. If they're gonna remove the one way I know how to solve the puzzle, then they also need to remove all the sudden insta-deaths in that part.
Thank the Lord, that Jaheira not following me bug killed me playing the game since it happened. Think I'll just swap her out & go back to one of my regulars. Hopefully THIS time it will be fixed. This was a issue since launch that was said to be fixed but isn't🤦🏿♂️
This sounds like great update but Minthara still needs a fix. She has no sound when she uses spells or even a Misty step. She’s never gotten the love she deserves, it’s such a shame bc she’s the most interesting character imo.😔
