What is the reset timer duration for damage done to heli? Do you know what it is? If I do 29% damage, how long do I have to wait before I can do another 29% damage?
I don't think solos have been affected as much as large groups have been. It would go down in seconds into some large roofcamper virgin castle. Solos can rat monuments and roofcamping that distance isn't as easy. Most things that benefit a solo also benefit a group. I've enjoyed stalking heli and catching groups as they come out from their base to go secure the crash site. You should adapt, it's a survival game!

One important thing you forgot. You can use Small watcher catchers on top of your base that lead water down into a secure high quality metal core where water barrel is located. This water barrel from top is connected a floor down to sprinklers all araund the base. This will remove fire in your base over time, giving you more space to move. It does not fully instantly remove the incendary heli rocket attack, it only helps (dont realy remember how much time from fire it takes tho).
Two or three wipes ago I tested sprinklers on all kinds of fire, including fire from incen rockets and ammo and the sprinklers made no difference whatsoever.
I really enjoyed the updated guide altho there is one more question I got: How fast do you have to get 30% of the Heli's health for it to flee? Like do I have to damage 30% in 30 secconds or mor or less time?
So does it run out of rockets? I ask because yesterday I started taking heli took it slow and got it down pretty good, I stopped to med and replace my windows so he left, eventually he came back a couple grids away and another player started shooting him, I L9d it 10-15 times and he was using SAR on it but it never once fired a rocket at his base. But it was a 10 to 15 minute ordeal..I ended up getting the last shot and got the loot. I went and talked to the other guy and he confirmed heli didn’t rocket his base. So weird
Speaking from experience, my friends and I took the new helicopter with m2s and lmgs so quick it couldn’t crash at a monument. So it is possible to take it in front of your base still
I don’t know if it’s the server I play or it’s in general but sometimes if u damage it too much, the heli will fly off the map, but then will come back, and roam around ur area again.
Ya, I honestly haven’t attempted to take it but once since this update. Absolutely trash change. Can’t do too much damage to it or it flees after destroying half your base and wasting your ammo. If you do down it, be ready to fight all the DB grubs at the monument.
Build a FOB near RT (i prefer airfield cause it has wonderful tower to shoot at heli) and use RT buildings to shoot heli. They are indestructible so you don't need to build your own tower. Heli drops on the same RT where you were shooting it from.
Lots of bugs in heli since the update - I've had it when heli refused to die - both crit points gone, it kept strafing me but not firing rockets. I ran out naked, died, and it went and crashed at junkyard. Also had it when it stayed over water the entire time it was out
Now that I rewatched the video, I realize you didn't address one thing: TC auth. I haven't tested that myself yet, but apparently the heli doesn't use regular rockets if you don't have TC auth. It could be useful when fighting it? Though the increased incendiary spam could get really annoying if it blocks 100% of your paths.
I found while testing that clearing myself from the TC didn't stop it from firing rockets that damaged the base. I'm not sure if it remembers who built the base or what, but simply clearing it didn't change anything for me.
Actually, it was quite annoying while recording. I tested without god mode for an authentic feel but had to limit my hits to prevent it from fleeing. Several times, I got a good series of shots on the tail or main rotor, only for it to flee and ruin everything. A boss fight shouldn't make you hold back to avoid doing well.
Im a console player but I enjoy watching your tactics and guides so entertaining but these are good for preparing for me if it ever comes to console lol !
mention's using the ak and LR300 but why not the Hlmg? It is craftable and works great! Even with nothing but a simple handmade site It rocks Heli's It is only just slightly not as good as a m249
This has been a normal thing on pve servers.. no big deal.. Its on a PVE you really learn how too build strong bases and are able too copy that into pvp-servers. I would say this, sorry no i dont play on vanila due too the time grinding only getting killed over and over again ;) Waiting for the Duckside game instead.
To be honest, I dont actually like the design. Heli towers do also get targeted as a raid targets. There are no garage doors that would increase the raid cost. Its only 3 sheet metal doors total, which makes it very vulnerable. Only one door on top, which might easily get destroyed just by the heli rockets (also did in the video), leading straight to the TC. Am I the only one thinking about this?
Just tested out this scenario for you and it looks like if you fight the heli from the oil rig, it crashes into the ocean next to the rig. This means, if you have scuba gear, you can swim down and loot the crates immediately since they won't be on fire.
I want them to. Increase the difficulty i dont mind that but making it fly if you're too good is super annoying, got a heli super low earlier it flew away and while its flying away i managed to get both crits so it was supposed to crash at a monument but no it decided to land on a shallow area of rhe sea in the snow, by the time i got there i could barely swim for 2 min and i would die, annoying mechanic
This is only a temporary tower for fighting the Heli. You should only keep inside the supplies you need when you're about to fight it. And I don't think anyone is coming to raid you mid fight with the patrol Heli circling your base.
I think taking on the heli is the easy part but defending its loot is going to be an absolute pain for smaller groups. While recording, I took down the heli multiple times solo, without god mode, albeit without other players and with all the recommended supplies shown in the video. Don't get me wrong, it was still a challenge and I died for a few runs while learning its behaviour. However, once you learn its movement, it's easy to pop out at the right times to get critical shots in. You just have to be careful not to damage it too quickly, which is definitely annoying.
very poor heli tower design - it's too tiny and you will always stuck in fire, a classic mushroom tower is much better, with 2x2 foundation and 4x4x2 "head" with L-stairs in corners
It seems to me like Jfarr doesn't even know how to build a basic 2x1 base, shown by building a 2x2 with a single door 😑🤨 Leave the builders the bulding parts for their videos, otherwise we are going to see alot of those ugly towers in the near future 🤦♂💩
