I never do comments, but you saved me a duh moment. I have the same board so stumbled upon this video. Those simple heat sinks for the mve.. Yeah, forgot to peel em. PC is running a week with random glitches I couldn't figure out. Plastic was starting to melt, might have saved my whole rig

Just bought exactly this MB and CPU and found out the cpu was defective 🤣 and didn't know there was a way to use your phone as an action camera, im sick of these knock off gopro's that burn up all the time lol

1:54:35 I think you made a mistake here. You selected 30 series notebook, thats why you didn't had the option for 3060ti. I think you should maybe give the owner a message or call that he needs to update the drives even though I think they should have realized it by now. All of those options lead to the same driver file. When you choose those options on the Nvidia site you're mainly telling Nvidia what graphics card you're downloading it for. Whether you choose the notebook or desktop version it's the same driver.

By the way, amazing instructions man. This video really inspired confidence in me who has never had built a computer yet but was planning doing so next month, power to you. Only criticism I have is don't mind the chat so much, it's generally filled with children trying to get attention and also adds a lot of wasted time in video uploads like these.

Hello Michael, firstly I knew I could trust you're advice when I saw the ds9 shirt haha (great taste btw 👍) Secondly my question is about the wifi antenna that comes with the mobo, I just built my pc the other day and just having trouble connecting my elite series 2 xbox controller to Bluetooth. I was under the impression the antenna doubled as Bluetooth, is this correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Michael 🙂🙏

Bluetooth works with 1 or 2 wifi antennas. Xbox controllers don't use Bluetooth on PC you have to have an Xbox controller dongle that connects through USB.

Just got a power supply, had one of those "Do not eat" silica packets, so I threw it out. The power supply itself of course was quite tasty with a little hot sauce on it. Oh and I use an uncooked grain of rice sized line of Arctic MX-4, have taken off coolers and rebuilt systems enough to know it's a perfect spread.

I'm building almost the exact same only with a 5800x3D and a 3070 instead. But literally everything else from the motherboard to the SSD to the case is the same as its in this video. This really helped me a lot thanks

Hi there hoping u reply to this I’m in the middle of building my first pc I have a rtx 3060 12gb eagle ryzen 5 3600 “will be upgrading it soon” the same motherboard u use in this vid the same ssd u use in this vid 16gb off Corsair vengeance 3200mhz but I’m just a bit worried about my Psu as I have the nzxt c850 gold rated 80 but I’m really worried if this is too much power as I brought it just so if I want to upgrade a few things in the future I could but is this too much power would be thankful If u reply thanks.

Having too much power is not a bad thing. One thing to consider is could you buy a cheaper power supply with lower power that actually fits the computers power needs better and then spend that extra money on a better processor or graphics card.

Hey, Michael! Question about NVMe M.2 SSD. Is there a particular reason for putting the NVMe SSD to the slot that is closer to the CPU? Is that slot for specifically for NVMe? I bought and installed a WD SN350 NVMe SSD, but I put it on the slot that is below the PCI-e slot. When I booted the PC it would only post a black screen and I couldn't obviously do anything unless I removed the NVMe M.2 stick. I've got Asus TUF Gaming B550 plus mobo with Ryzen 7 5700x and RTX 3060. Thanks in advance! I love your videos and streams!

You need to check your motherboard manual to determine which slots on your board support NVMe, SATA or both.

on this board, the closest slot to the CPU is directly connected to the CPU (usually the case for all motherboards too) if you connect it to the others, it will go through the chipset giving a bit of latency

I think you needed to get the radeon rx 6750 xt it is cheaper than the 3060ti but it is almost as good as the rtx 3070

hey, maybe a bit late, but yesterday i ordered the ryzen 7 5800x and the asus b550 plus wifi ii motherboard. now my question is do i really have to update the bios in order to set the ram to the 3600mhz? because i once bios updated my old motherboard and i ended up killing it... since i now ordered new parts i do not wanna risk killing something again :D. so my question is can i put the ram on 3600mhz out of the box without updateing the bios? would be nice if you could reply to me since i dont have such big knowledge as you have :D thanks alot, best regards

Whether or not you'd have to update the BIOS in order to enable XMP I'm not sure. It would depend on the current BIOS level and whether or not a bios update is actually required. That being said killing motherboards with a bios update in my experience is extremely unusual. You can try the 3600 megahertz RAM with the current BIOS level and if it doesn't run stably at the current BIOS level then you upgrade the BIOS to the most recent version.

You can update the BIOS before you install Windows if you like. In my experience it doesn't make a difference.

Most AM4 motherboards don't have the USB C header on the motherboard where you can connect the front panel USB C to. You have to go toward the higher end board which are very expensive. Instead look to get a PCI express card that has the header. Search on Amazon for "usb c internal header card" You'll find several.

I can see issues creating a Windows 11 install USB on a Mac. Yes I would recommend you do that on a windows-based computer.

Do Google search for download Windows 10 or download Windows 11. You'll find a link to a Microsoft website where you can create a USB flash drive to install Windows onto the computer. Just put it in the computer and restart it.

@@amberpickwick3982 if you go to the support page for your motherboard you'll find a list of compatible CPUs and the BIOS level required to support them. I think all 500 series chipsets are compatible with all 5000 series chips.

@@adolfoh22The 5600x has 6 CPU cores. The 5800x has 8 cores. I doubt you would notice the difference in games. If you have more money to spend getting a better graphics card will improve gaming more.

If you're talking about connecting it to the motherboard it's almost always at the bottom right of the board. You can find it by looking at the manual. Also taking a picture of the bottom right of the motherboard so you can zoom in sometimes helps.

it should be fine tbh I am using it with ryzen 7 2700 which isnt even on the list of compatible cpu list for b550 chipset and it still works fine.

I'm not sure how 4600mhz RAM is a requirement for a 5800X3D but 4600 megahertz RAM would most likely be DDR5 and this motherboard in this video only supports DDR4 RAM.

If you're referring to the rightmost fan it fit perfectly over the ram. Sometimes if the ram is very tall you have to raise the fan up a little bit on the heat sink. It's not a problem.

If a motherboard has built-in Wi-Fi it will also have Bluetooth. They are in the same adapter.

Hi could you give me some advice please I have the same asus tuf B450M PLUS II motherboard. But I have a problem when put my graphics card in where you put yours, it leaves no room for the wifi card to go in the slot just below it?? Any solution?? Thanks Lee

That motherboard has a 16x slot at the bottom of it where you can put the Wi-Fi adapter. It's a shorter PCI Express 1X card but it will go just fine into the 16x slot.

Hi, Well I tried it in the upper pci slot but the pc didn't see it, I reseated it, but still nothing? So I had to put it back in the lower slot. My graphics card is a geforce GTX 1650 GDDR5, can you think of any reason why B450M Plus II Motherboard wouldnt see it? Thanks Lee

Most motherboards dont have a USB C header on them. If you need one you can get a PCI Express add in card with the header to connect the USB C cable from the front of the case.

It should support that CPU out of the box. It's a good idea to upgrade the bios anyway for other fixes and improvements.

@@MichaelTheComputerGuy I have a question. My RAM only supports it's max frequency to 2666 Mhz, and it can't be higher anymore. My old MoBo was B450M, and it was all good. However, when I changed my Mobo to ASUS B550M-PLUS WiFi, that's the time I can't really even OC my RAM to 3200Mhz. It doesn't work even if I updated BIOS. Do you think, my RAM are old that can only support at that high frequency which is at 2666 only?

@@park3N to get the ram running at 3200 megahertz or whatever speed it's supposed to be running at according to the manufacturer you just need to turn on DOCP in the BIOS. If you're trying to go through and manually overclock it by changing the individual settings for the timing and voltage and all that it makes it more difficult. Just turn on DOCP and it'll to handle it.

@@MichaelTheComputerGuy it really didn't work at all. I suppose my RAM is not supported by OC for my new MoBo. I already tried to reset and it was still the same. Got only max at all at 2666. Might probably look what ram is better or else I might upgrade to 3600mhz instead.

Hey I have the same motherboard and it’s a new build but my pc isn’t displaying to the monitor. Although the pc turns on and all the fans are running, the gpu light is on. Do you have any clue what to do. Also is the vga that goes into the graphics card the same as the pcie wired?
