Loved this video. I'm a physical person too. I like to see to see and flip through my patterns, hold them against my fabric and stuff. I like your ideas.
This is such a brilliant idea, I love it, so simple yet so effective. If o had a printer at home, I'd be copying you. For now I'll have to deal with the plastic wallets. Thank you for sharing xx
Thanks for sharing your inspiration for organizing your pdf patterns. I photocopy my pattern envelopes then put them in a three-ring binder by category so I can easily browse through my collection for next project. However, I have not done this with pdf patterns, but because of your video, I am going to copy or make a sheet for each to go in my binder. Thank you!
Great idea! I love being organized so you had me at the beginning but having the info on the back with the materials you need so it’s easy to take to the shop-Brilliant!!!
Brilliant idea! You are so right about being able to see the patterns you already have.. it's easy to double up with more of the same if you're not organised.
I love this idea. I like to be organised and am definitely going to do something similar. I also enjoy faffing around on my laptop, so I'll have lots of fun putting this together. 😊
Love this idea especially how you addressed patterns in books. I may also do an index card for certain pattern catagories like tshirts, tank tops, hoodies where I have a lot of options I might want to compare. An image or line drawing of all my hoodie patterns on one card would be useful since I have a lot of them!
I love that idea of making a card with the pattern printed on. I have loads of PDF patterns and this is something I’m going to do with mine from now on. Thank you for sharing your idea. Love the hair by the way. X
I love this idea of the cards. I do something similar for the A4 envelopes I store my print outs in. I print the pattern front and back pages onto A4 labels and stick them on.
You are an absolute genius!! This is perfect! I LOVE having something in my hand to look at, whether it's a pattern, my fabric, or a book! I felt slightly crestfallen at the idea of cutting and pasting and screen grabbing, but then I decided that I will just scan the front and back of my patterns! I have almost all commercial patterns, and I have several dozen at least. 😳 I may even send my scanned images to the printer instead of trying to print them myself. I can't emphasize to you how exciting this idea is! THANK YOU!!!💜💜
That system looks really useful and neat. I like something physical to look at too, I always print PDF instructions because have tried reading them from my laptop but didn't like it as much as having the printed sheet. Its a great idea for a quick glance at all the patterns in the books too.
I'm definitely with you on the physical preference for patterns and organisation! You did a great job.....now all I need to work out is how to scan 20 years worth of Burda magazine line drawings lol :)
What a fabulous idea, thank you for sharing. I find my download patterns too bulky to get in a folder, perhaps I’m not folding correctly. I agree about knowing what patterns you have, I have bought doubles of 3 different patterns now ☹️ Karen R
I love this! It's a great idea, especially because lately I'm leaning towards PDF patterns but I take them to a copyshop and keep them in A0 size, so they are big white rolls of paper and it's not very easy to see them😅.
I love this. I don't have a printer at home, but am considering getting one, as it seems I will be working from home (so unable yo use thd printer at work 😂) for some time. I might do this and try Trello, as my PdFs are on my phone and not easy to find 😒. Thanks for showing us this.
Brilliant solution and quite creative - love your videos! You have such a lovely style, feminine and sophisticated, yet down to earth. You are adorable . Do you have a video of how you created your envelope storage system for your pdf pattens? Your method is the best I have seen and I would love to recreate it for my patterns. Thank you. 😊
Thank you so much Debra 😊 do you mean my system for having my pdf patterns in the clear wallets in the box files? I think I’ve shown it in my sewing space video but I could definitely make a more detailed video showing exactly how my pdf plastic wallets are organised?
Lizzie B Thank you; I would find that incredibly valuable! Right now I have no idea of how to store them and find I am avoiding working with them. I am a very beginner sewist and have thoroughly enjoyed watching your sewing journey.
So sorry Lizzie, I just reviewed your “Sewing Space” video and I did see your explanation of your pdf storage system. Thank you for responding to my comments; you are just as sweet and kind as I thought you were. Have a blessed day! 😊
What a Brilliant idea! Would it be possible for you to actually show us how you did this. Technology and I are still wrestling a bit, but I want to conquer it. I’ve managed to learn how to print and tape PDF patterns, but you idea sounds a bit above me.
😂 oh noooo I’m sorry Julie!! 😂 I did think I should maybe have some a proper tutorial and film my screen but I have a mac computer rather than pc etc etc so not sure how useful it would be for everyone!?
