You need to specify "they" here. The original crew, who recorded it? They couldn't care less. Recording company that holds copyright instead of authors and performers? They'd rather completely destroy the work and let it be forgotten then allow someone to use it without paying them silly sums.
Honestly I think this game really shows how much of a burden having a massive sword is. It's just always in the way, and it did serious damage when it went in. The smaller swords are clearly better, and they're probably average length anyway.
