Have you seen the Philodendron Birkin Pink?! I first covered it in the Houseplant Trends for 2023 video and I've since managed to get hold of one to show you this new variation of Philodendron Birkin.
There is not a lot of information available about the Philodendron Birkin Pink, as it appears to have only been posted about since 2020 with limited commercial availability. Potentially as a result of its lack of coverage, its legitimacy has been questioned - is it a plant hoax, is it a reverting plant, has it been treated?
I'll show you the Philodendron Birkin Pink in detail, as well as looking at the Philodendron Birkin and the Rojo Congo. I'll cover the Philodendron Birkin Pink origins (at least in theory!), along with a full Birkin plant care guide. While different varieties, their care is very much the same.
I'll link the trends video at the end if you would like to watch it and find out what other plants and styles could be trending this year.
Consider subscribing for more plant content - My videos cover everything from plant care and tips, plant unboxing and pest control, along with a few plant related crafts.
If you have any questions, put them in the comments below and I'll respond to every one. As always - thanks for watching Grow Your Wellbeing.

I love how unstable birkins are. I got mine about 2 years ago now and last year I separated the babies off it and it threw out a half rojo leaf 😂 it's since given me pure white leaves and the next new growth looks pink! So I believe its natural mutation personally but will hopefully know for sure in the next week or so 👀🤞🏻🩷

Exciting! Love new leaves and the fact they can be so different from leaf to leaf. Sounds like you've been able to propagate it too 😀 My last new leaf was pink/white striped like the other but will keep an eye on them as it develops!

Thanks so much for this video. I had no clue they had a philodendron pink and it is officially on my wish list. I just bought my first Birkin and I’m so excited to see this one. Thanks for all the tips. Can’t wait to see more of your videos!

You really have to be careful for sure. Beautiful plant and a good explanation about the plant and its origins.

Hi Debbie, thank you! Just an educated guess/theory from the research but it will be interesting to see if more comes out about it as it becomes more widely available 💚

I like the last theory or even a corollary- it really looks more like the mother plant than the original Birkin. So, I would definitely guess it was another cross with the mother OR an independent mutation from mother. But, a total guess on my part. Thanks for showing us the plants! Very enjoyable discussion.

Thanks Tessie! Yes it definitely looks more like the mother plant. I actually had a section with them lined up but I cut it in the edit - it almost looks like the Birkin Pink should have come first then the standard Birkin. But as you say, maybe it was another mutation from the mother that created both the line variegation and kept the pink colour 💡. I wonder if we'll ever know for sure!

It seems to be! I'll keep an eye on retailers to see as it becomes more available - and hopefully there'll be more resources and videos about it in the near future.

It's reverting back to the mothers side.

Thanks for watching. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it develops as new leaves come up 🤔

I find most of Pink Variegations are unstable & inconsistent for Philodendrons. If u want pink variegations and don't want to worry of reverting, pick Anthurium Foliage Variegated & Aglaonemas!

You're right, they can be! Some are the result of so many hybridisations, they've got a lot of different traits mixed in over time. I love Agalonemas! 💚 That's one group I'm focusing on at the moment, such lovely colours. Anthuriums are nice too but I've found them to be a bit trickier care wise! How do you find them?
