I would like to say the Dragon and Lion story in Harmony Greets the New Year is a direct allegory to Dan Heng and Jing Yuan. Before leaving the Xianzhou and moving on to Penacony I would advise doing the Bailu, Yanqing, and Jingliu character stories to get more of an understanding about their past and also to understand who the group all are at the beginning of Ichor of Two Dragons. A LOT of their story is also supplemented by various history books found around the Xianzhou Luofu. If you are scanning through the documents you have found looking for details, the key phrase to look for is "High Cloud Quintet"

The new years one is a retelling of the fight against Phantyllia, the lion is Jing Yuan and the drangon ia Dan Heng/imbiditer lunae

Little Gui is introduced in the ghost hunting event! The conventional memoir events also count as “story” together with the companion quests as well

All you really need to know is Black Swan is a part of the Garden of Recollection and can see into people's memories. She was curious about Acheron and tried to look into her past memories without permission or awareness and was not prepared for what she found. Anything more will come from playing the game, we don't have all the answers yet but the dynamic makes more sense. Can't wait for you to get to Penaconym, but I agree with others you should do all the the character missions (Kafka, Jingliu, Guinaifen/Huo Huo, Ruan Mei, Dr Ratio) to get all the backstory. They aren't vital but it will help keep pace with the order that content was released.

“Can they do this” Fun fact, they did even more in their other project, Honkai Impact 3rd in the manga of Azure Waters and its Music Video with showing the scene where Bronya and Seele kiss, to the point that China literally came and told them to take that out (although you can find the video with the scene still there). And just to add, almost every character on Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Gakuen are explicitly gay, the most evident is Kiana and Mei’s relationship, ending as married gods on Honkai Gakuen 2 and in Honkai Impact 3rd still being a possibility for both to live in a future where Kiana comes back from current predicament.

There is one more "moment among the stars" animation for huohuo. It's short but really well animated and cute.

If you didnt know jing liu is played by the vtuber amalee, and Jing Yuan is played by the vtuber cyu cyu, while blade is played by the guy who voices frieza in Dragon ball super

blade/yinxing(blade's truename),jingyuan,jingliu,dan heng/dan feng,baiheng(a foxian) were all friends back then. Blade is the only short life species and he had a white hair probably because of his age but something happened that time

the girl with Acheron is Black Swan, she was in the first Myriad Celestial trailer and a big part of Penacony story.... Black Swan wants to know who Acheron really is and try to read her memories and also try to find how she killed Duke Inferno the Anihilition gang leader, but I guess the memories are so evil and dark that they ripping Balck swan apart! Also in the Myriad celestial trailer there's one about the Anihilation gang among many others

The lion dancer is Guinaifeng, aka little Gui, a tiktok streamer and a street performer in Xianzhou Luofu. She is not one of those locals which means she is also not a long-life specie. Lil. Gui is an extrovert girl with a positive and bubbly personality. I like her so much.
