Perfect timing sir as I just rolled a new toon. You guessed it, the mesmer, although a bit confusing lol I'm having a blast playing around with it, already lvl 15 so this is really going to help sorting out for me . . . So three cups of joe to ya neighbor 😀
My mesmer is a shroom headed sylvari named Psylis Aybin 😅. He's been one of my more neglected alts, mostly just tailoring away in arborstone. Need to show him some love when I get back from my vacay in Hyrule lol
5:35 The last charge of a mantra being stronger is only true for Firebrand, for mesmers the stronger effect occurs when they are initially charged. Firebrand mantras have 3 charges with the last one having a stronger effect as apposed to mesmers who's mantras have a stronger effect when first charged but only 2 charges.
Chronomancer is a very cool idea thematically for a power mesmer, but it really needs a buff to its numbers to be competitive pve wise. It has great potential, just needs some numbers tweaks.
@@Stterling21 Just compare the rotation of Chronomancer (especially from the point of Continuum Shift) to reaper. They number should really be a bit higher.
@@CaffeinatedDad In pve it seems it does around 38k if you are good enough to pull off the rotation, but since that dps is on golem in ideal conditions, its probably quite lower than that. Thing is, in my opinion, difficult classes should have higher potential dps in order to be playable for slower players as well.
And I was referring to pve alone, to clarify for the surprised person who answered me earlier. I never do pvp. And most pvp I did do was mostly on necro.
My first 80 was a mesmer. It was a very fun profession to play and rather powerful I prefer the staff. If you play it right, you never get personal aggro. Nice when you are squishy
You are kind author, i play pvp with buds and have no filter. Been overseas for a while but will start gaming again and putting out videos again. Hope you watch some of my reaper play.
I dont have much to say about Chronomancer as I never really tried that spec nor Virtuoso as I havent unlocked that spec yet. But Mirage is such an easy and effective class to play for soloing open world stuff, especially Staff/Staff Condi Mirage. Would recommend for player who needs to get things done easily without having to rely on other player
Try that, very powerful but so, so very boring. Spam dodge and staff 1 is not fun for me in a long run. It was very powerful, not gonna denied that, 1 of a few spec I can slol hard boss easily, but I hate spam thing and staff atk move very slow.
@@JRZTT Although it is very easy and repetitive I do enjoy raining it as I can solo almost any kind of content. I really wish greatsword did much more damage as Split surge is incredibly fun to use. The damage is just terrible though so it is useless for soloing things.
A lil late to the video but (As a chrono main) I want to clarify a few things: Mesmer mantras do not have a stronger effect on the last charge (thats firebrand you are thinking about), mesmer mantras have to Chant it firts with strong effect upfront (and cast time) THEM they get free casts mantras-lite of that ability. Staff also generates a lot of boons to allies on top of what you mention (ever seem a good staff mirage? they sort of run on like 25 stacks of might, fury and regeneration for the whole party), albeit somewhat ramdonly (its the chaos theme weapon hence the RNG) and its the main source of chaos armor wich is the most power full aura (If you ask me). ALL Chronomancer unique skills have a "delayed gratification" theme, be at the right place at the right time, the block also summons a phanthasm that slow, the shield stun also buff allies, destroys proyectiles and gets reduced cooldown if you get hit by the wave coming back (the wave actually returns to your current location if you teleport) Same with his wells, wells usually last 5 seconds and they pulse once per second, chrono wells only last 3 seconds but they detonate whem they expire for an extra effect. (slowing well buff allies whem it ends, condition healing well is a heal nuke whem it ends ect) Mesmer main weakness have always been being the worse healer in the game (shadow and venom thief can actually heal fairly well and warrior will shout at you until you get better) yet chronomancer can get away with a healer build albeit hard to use, healing-with-delay one (healing mantra chants, wells heal on detonation, aoe heal on clone summon, regeneration and protection from staff ect)
Cry of Frustration is quite literal when fighting against a Mesmer in PvP. As aThief main, Mesmer is the one I hate the most. I hate it so much that I've rolled a Mesmer just to understand how to deal with them -- still got nothing. If you can't beat them, join them -- I now have 2 Mesmer alts; a Mirage and a Virtuoso. I picked these two Elite Specs because I can play them like a Thief. I don't have to retrain my muscle memory.
Mesmer is consistently my most favorite class to play in guild wars, both it's unique incarnation in the first game and the more flashy incarnation of the sequel. The supportive illusionist who vexes and decieves his foes as opposed to simply nuking them outright is always been a favorite archetype of mine.
Oof so many mistakes in this video. GS is a POWER weapon. and No, mesmers don't mostly do condition damage. You have 2 options for dps, power (zerk) or condition. power = burst, condition = sustain. Hyping up GS after you talked about how mesmers mostly do condi dmg is why you see idiots running around with condi set up with a GS and dying.
With respect, I did not say the greatsword is a condition weapon and as a general statement most top performing builds in say pve are condition oriented. I am sorry that you misunderstood!
