My husband is in his last year of diaconate formation, I am in my last year before final promise for secular discalced Carmelite, I feel right now our newly married son and our daughter who just had her 5th child are under attack in their marriage. What prayer could my husband say over them when we're together on Monday?
Because they are married, the authority structure is different, and therefore you would not be able to pray any imprecatory (command) prayers over them. Any prayers of supplication (deprecatory) however, are fair game, and as mentioned in the show - just as efficacious. So in short, just ask God, the Holy Family, and the angels and saints to intercede for them, and cover them. Or whatever else comes to your heart and mind. We don’t need specific prayers as much as we need humble hearts crying out for God.
