I heard 2018/2019 straight exhaust version at GP in Austria.. INSANELY loud but the tone wasn't the best. It depends on the exhaust. It sounded to "droney" instead of a higher pitched, melodic scream of other racing Porsches. 997 GT3 R for example sounds much better imo.

I don't know exactly why, probably because of some regulations.
