I think everyone who’s watched top gear knows exactly how cars react on every corner of that track, so to see the levels of grip and how hard you could push it on a cold slightly wet day is insane

Being a former track day junkie, what I find mind blowing is not the downforce in itself, but the ability to adjust all the other functions that carve those extra tenths off while you are driving without stopping. When some of this tech trickles down to lesser models it will be game-changing.

That last corner at the end of the video really shows just how much grip this baby’s got. Wow ❤

That turn in is amazing. This car really separates the gt3 from itself. Keeps people interested in a gt3 and it's market alive, because of how raw and track focused it is and will bring in new customers because of how good of a road legal track car it looks to be.

Been a while since we've seen you flat out on a fast track. I want to say the last time was in another flavor of 911 at Silverstone.

The fact that this produces more downforce than the Mclaren Senna is just mind boggling! Porsche, Preuninger, and the GT team really killed it with this animal.

The amount of downforce is proportional to the velocity squared - it will be most effective round fast tracks like Spa and Silverstone. Much less effective round your routine weekend warrior circuits which are usually much slower in terms of average lap speeds. To put it in context, the 992 GT3 RS was only 5s quicker round the ring than the previous generation 991.2 GT3 RS MR and 6s slower than the 991 GT2 RS MR. The ability to change rebound and compression is a great addition and beats laying on your back under a car doing the same. Likewise the ability to dial the ediff and traction up or down are great additions. Always great to see the way Porsche evolve their GT cars but equally they are masters of marketing. You should drive it on some backroads, the spring rates are up 50% from the 991.2 GT3 RS, so around 150Nmm front and ~240Nmm rear unless there is a massive change in wheel rate, from the 991.2, that ride will be very firm. Porsche also quickened the steering ratio from the 991.2 GT3 RS to the 992 GT3/GT3 RS - on worn, channeled bumpy roads this makes the car twitchy and prone to tramming - its fine on track of course, but Brit B roads........

Great video and amazing car. However, I do wish, that they had gone even further with the adjustments available on the steering wheel. It seems to me, that they are useful for finding a good balance for a particular track, but don't offer enough detail to tune the car corner by corner. Seeing as the car isn't practical enough to be used as a daily, why not go all the way and allow brake bias adjustments. Or throttle maps. Or independent entry and exit settings for the diff.

I could see, that the faster you got the better it stuck, you didn't have to saw at the wheel as much! I'd love to have a crack at that!

Too bad most GT3 RS's will likely never see a track.,That would be epic though. Cars and Coffee will be their showplaces. That plus the PDK robs drivers of the engagement and challenge a manual provides. Changing shock valving in the cockpit is nice but no replacement for me. Make mine a PTS GT3 with a wing in NATO green with 6 speed and buckets. I'll save the $75k+ for a set of track wheels and three years of tires and track day insurance. Can't wait, hope I see an RS or two on track!
