Was really excited to grab this phone mount, unfortunately my phone is to heavy, Google Pixel 6 pro , without the case it doesn't move as much but with the otter heavy duty it's way to heavy any ideas??
You should check out the pro holder specifically for the tundra. that’s what I have. I love it it mounts a little bit higher but has the same features as yours does.
Hey Ted!...no sir, you don’t have to remove the whole center piece, just the 2 pieces I remove in this video and then the 4 10mm bolts holding radio... I have a video on the channel showing how to completely disassemble the dash if it would help!
i bought this mount and it lasted all of two weeks, the internals are incredibly spindly plastic, slick looking product but unfortunately its plastic garbage.
Good job on the install vid, The product itself seems to have a few cons. In the way of my shifter and the AWD knob seem like a pain. The placement being down so low seems like you are going to take your eyes off the road more as oppsed to your other mount- which the higher mount if you were looking at your phone you can still see the road and traffic going on behind it. I'm curious if you turn off your truck and dont have power will those arms still open up to pull out the phone. Seems like the little details might add up to a PIA compared to your other mount.
Hey Fred!...I agree on a couple points ya have, I love the mount but do wish it was slightly higher...and the arms don’t open when ya turn off the truck...I’m actually gonna do a follow up video on the mount...but the shifter and 4wd knob location doesn’t bother me at all, plenty of room still...thanks for watching!
Several months on… is this still your mount of choice? I’m looking to upgrade to a wireless charger, and would be curious on your take now. Especially as you consider a move to the new TUNDRA
I keep it in the truck and use it at times, it’s definitely a solid mount…use it more on longer trips, when I’m not using it I take the mount off the ball and keep it in my center console…one of the positives of it, very easy to take on/off…honestly if it wasn’t for the cord, I would use it constantly…I love the mount I just can’t stand having cords and I never came up with a way to run it that I was happy with…I still love my Scosche Magic Mount as well, that’s the other one I have a video on…if you don’t mind the cord, I would 💯 recommend this one, hope that helps!
@@NitroZ18Fishing I was happy with the Scosche but for the Iphone 13 Pro Max they don't have a magnet for that as it gets in the way of the magsafe charging. Looking at this as an alternative. Have you had any problems with the charging phone mount?
I never really used this one for charging all that much after installing, I just can’t stand the cord…nothing against the mount, that’s how I am with all my installs/mods, I hate seeing cords or wiring…I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and put a magnet at the very bottom that wouldn’t interfere with wireless charging, but it still worked with the Scosche and held my phone securely on dash

Pretty sweet! I don't know if those few extra seconds for the mount to "grab" the phone would irritate me. I'm so use to the Nite Ize steely magnet. The magnet literally grabs your when it is about half an inch away. Instant on and off, and very secure mount. Of course it doesn't wireless charge, but wireless car charging is still kind of a gimmick. That said it looks very well made, and looks better than my magnet mount. One question..can you deactivate the wireless charging feature? You know sometimes your phone is about to die, and you can't wait all day for wireless charging. You need your phone plugged into a quick charger, but yet still want it mounted..
