Just picked mine up today & assembly was cake. I then looked up videos & found yours. Definitely reaffirmed my belief this was the set up I needed, as our feet get cold AF with the heaters I was using prior. Thanks and enjoy!
Just bought mine right now can’t wait to get it assembled and up and going. I’ve seen it at Costco but I never bothered. I was gonna go with the propane thank God I didn’t. I did some research and I found your video and it helped me out a lot. Cheers.🍻
Bought one yesterday. I'm glad to see in your description that it inludes a cover - the Even Embers version of this product does NOT include a cover and they sell it for an additional $50.
Just got one last Sunday from Costco in Canada. 349.99 what a great little heater!!! And congrats on having a utube video lol!!!! Cheers from ontario Canada my friend!!!
Thanks for the video, I was waiting for someone to post a video on this Costco heater. I bought one and really like it!! However I have found that the only way to get good heat is to manual feed the hopper to get the flame higher. Does anyone else do that? FYI: I have been using Fuel Pellets from Tractor Supply. I would not recommend smoker pellets. Thanks again!
Check that the grate is seated properly. Mine was burning lower than usual a few weeks ago and I couldn't figure out why until I jossled the grate and it fell back into it's level spot. Fixed it right up. Also I wasn't recommending the smoker pellets, but the Costco bbq pellets aren't too expensive and did have a lovely smell when lighting it up. It burns too hot and fast to get any real benefit to use anything other than the fuel pellets from tractor supply like you mentioned. Cheers!
Thanks for posting this. Do you feel it gives you the same vibe/experience as sitting around a firepit type fire (except the marshmallow option). Can’t decide if I want to get smoked out with logs and an open flame or this, which seems much less hassle (not a lumber Jack) so I’d use it more.
note to prospective buyers: Read the Reviews... these will stain your ceiling over time with soot, the closer the faster/more it will stain. The Glass might come broken in the box and is under warranty for replacement through the manufacturer, and the chimney stack and fasteners aren't the strudiest this is good if your within 2-6ft. but especially good when paired with a fire pit like solo stove in front and this behind you that said it obviously can get the job done for $2-270 compared to others that start at $400 and up with bigger hoppers to go with their price tags.
Can it hold up in the wind, and how did the paint hold up? I saw some videos where the paint was peeling. I picked up two patio heaters for Black Friday but I'm debating taking them back and getting two of these.
Not a lot of smoke once it gets rolling, make sure you have a foot or so clearance. Some folks in the comments have taken off one of the chimney pipes to make it shorter. I haven't done that and can't recommend it but it's info lol
The dimensions are listed on Costco.com but I think it's just under 7'. There's a heat deflector so the majority of the exhaust is deflected to the side. But just like I told my buddy, go spend $299 for the short evn embr chiminea version over at tractor supply of you're concerned about a low ceiling.
Yea, seems to work fine. I use I out on my deck, but I store it under the house overhang to keep it out of the rain. Would not fit with both tubes on. I tried it without the middle one and haven’t had any issues.
Package says 3-4 hours and it seems like it will to even longer. I ran it for 3 hours yesterday and it's barely halfway empty. Your mileage may vary but I think 4 hours is a good conservative estimate
@@bsaxman78 wow, pricing for the wood pellets is great where you are. Central Florida here, and the 40 pound bags are $20 at Tractor Supply and $17 at Lowe’s (bought a bag there yesterday).
I noticed a bag of cooking pellets? Those things are quite expensive compared to home heating pellets. One is specifically for cooking and the other for heat. You're throwing away money if you're using cooking pellets. I'm not sure if you know that?
Aware. Got bags at Lowes and tractor supply for much cheaper. Costco cooking pellets was for the test and at 12 dollars I didn't feel bad. Plus the initial smoke smells wonderful
@bsaxman78 hopefully people realize when considering this unit and/or using it that there's options. Some may not be aware there are heating pellets. That being said... Just curious your thoughts. I'm in Michigan and have a cedar gazebo on the patio with open walls. Do you think this thing would produce enough heat to actually sit near it outside under the gazebo? Assuming there's no wind to kill the heat.
Yeah, I've used it all winter so far on an open deck. Good heat up to 6-8' away from the front. Not so much from the back of the unit. Under a roof just make sure you have a foot or so clearance from the top of the capped stack. It's not bad up there but I'm sure you'd hate to have discoloration or anything
