So the answer to my Highland problems, might be accessability doors...... I would make a joke about them wanting wheelchair access too, but...... ramps are indeed superior to stairs in this game.
I found that choke points are essential for an easy purge, most high level thralls and golems can fight the horde quite well so long they don't get overwhelmed and surrounded. As once that happens they get quickly stunlocked to death.
Very entertaining test purge 👍👍👍... and a very successful labyrinth base and of course very nicely decorated 👌👌👌... Pixelcave-like 😅 😂 Thank you for the inspiration and your sharing 👋
Why Demolishers don't make the door wider? They can't build stairs... Defeated by overcrowding on the stairs! Demolishers have nothing left to destroy between the empty floor and the hoard, except the floor... Interesting, make the floor with the flimsiest ceiling tiles, let the Demolishers create a moat around the treasure!!
Officially there's no T5 thrall category, but some Purge thralls (e.g. crafter thralls) have better bonuses. All 3 thralls you mentioned are not from Siptah by the way, but Sonja and Ulric are Purge thralls and have similar sounding equivalents on Siptah (Sonja the Accursed and Ulric the Accursed).
wow didnt think the purge was gonna be that bland even at lvl 10 purge... no wonder no one is online after the update. guess people didnt like it and i think ppl are gonna stop playing then complain how dumb the developers are. i think.
Oh yeah, the brimstone ones are very good. We used them at first for this build, but had to do another Purge without them because otherwise the footage would be brimstone fog and nothing else. 😆
its just basic tower defence game tactics, all those years playing TD flash games paid off lol i tried this method but found it a bit temperamental, I found just a basic zig zag snake shape two foundations wide with hut in middle of each lane containing golems, also i put 2 doors side by side every foundations worked really well, no problems so far. but cool vid, it inspired me to make what I did.
should try the test with the different orders to thralls, they defend themselves better when they protect the area, instead of attacking everyone, they are all for one, just let the AI work a little. my trick is to open the door for them and let them in,, close door, repeat
Tried several Golems myself but then then get attacked by my thralls and other golem. Super disappointed as I was Stoked to have an army of golems but unfortunately the Golems code is too bugged to be viable
Yeah, as you can see in the video, we also had a group of golems attack each other. They continued after the purge, so we sadly had to put 3 or 4 down to stop it.
another trick is to use inside inverted door frame instead of walls, so to maximise the number of thralls in the base, x2 per door,, (protecting area order to thralls)
Did my first purge.. it sucked and wiped out a majority of my lvl 20 named thralls I had been saving up. All my traps and defenses were like tissue paper to the demolishes.. but I did try again but set up a funnel so the NPCs would bottle neck so I could throw podium gas orbs and gas arrows into the hallway.
He is def using the lying bastard sword, which behaves as a 1 handed axe transmogged to something else. 1H axe is bis all around weapon and the lying bastard sword is my 2nd fav one cause it has really good range. First being the festering axe which posions on top of the normal bleeding effects.
@@SackRingDice"The Lying Bastard Sword may be found in Icon biomes the unnamed city the Unnamed City, by looting boss creatures. Guardian of the Flame The Commander The Watcher The Gravewalker "
Hm, it looks very interesting, when they are making camp, and you can robe it eventually. Did you have tier 4 thralls during the siege? Or all named are available only in the cages? P.S. Golems are best part of Age of sorcery.
@@Pixelcave Thanks for the answer! As for now, it looks like some named t4 workers most likely wont be available. I had t3 fighters after my purge and only one named archer Zara the Crazed.
I'm building my first purge base tonight. I went pretty slow through the game and am well above max level (mods) with myself, my GF, and some lvl 20 canni brute thralls in epic gear with legendary weapons. Yet I feel totally noobie because I know nothing about the purge NPCs behavior aside from them going for doors first. My girl has a veritable zoo pretending like she is playing Pokemon Exiles (gotta collect them all). I basically built a crazy castle with long narrow paths with many doors and cauldrons. Got a room I'm hoping to turn into a gas chamber but I have yet to mess with the mines so not sure how they work. In any case it's gonna be fun =oD
Oh, most of the pets are going to be fodder. She was well into collecting before she learned about using the proper food to make greater pets. We have 4 or 5 greaters we are keeping back to guard the treasure room along with our gigachad brutes. Everything else including my zombie army will be front line while we watch to take care of any demolishers personally. We played a lot of 7 days to die and horde nights were like christmas for us. I'll let ya know how it went =o) @@Pixelcave
Well, the purges started out a bit rough as I had to experiment and found a purge won't happen unless the treasure coffer is on the bottom floor. Then the first purge went right past the front of my main base where they proceeded to destroy every mount and even the GFs house cats she had outside. Once we got the puyrge figured the zombies did well until purge 4, At that point my outside zombies droipped from 24 to 10. But they only breached the gate once. Purge lvl 5 things got real. Everything died including my super chad follower and myself. Lyndee had already logged out so I was able to grab her combat follower and finish the purge. It was a successful failure in that no treasure was stolen but every combat follower and mount we had is gone save her one follower and the ones we liberated from the purge. I have it recorded and may upload the raw video to this youtube channel (my personal account).@@Pixelcave
Oh wow, what carnage! And the poor house cats! 😄 I hope it was a good experience nonetheless, at least it's something new to tackle and now you know a bit more what to expect. Them not following the intended path though, I still find a bit frustrating,. We had a similar issue and ended up having to build a side entrance because they simply ignored the main entrance. What do you think of the rewards, worth it?
Meh, That lvl 5 purge rewarded 3 bearer thralls which I don't use because I have expertise at 20 so I don't suffer from being encumbered anymore. I'm more interested in recipes because I am a crafter and builder and the more stuff I can build and craft the happier I am. I think I'm going to tear down this purge base as it is way overbuilt with 2 extra levels that are unused. Next one will be more simple with more archers using the noxious gas arrows and all cannibal brute fighters with 2H weapons. My girl's fighter impressed me with how much more effective it was with a 2h maul over my brute's 1H and shield. I'll use the brutes while I can until they get nerfed next month. I also did upload the raw vid to this channel if you wanted to check it out. It's 2h long so I would just skip ahead to the juicy parts to save some time lol.@@Pixelcave
Good question, the reason is the following: We did an entire Purge with Brimstone Golems before this one, but the visual effects of the gas were so extreme that you could literally see nothing of the fights and what was going on - just green clouds everywhere. Hence why we decided to redo it without (believe me, re-crafting and placing all these golems was no fun).
It's the level 30 reward from the new Chapter 2 Battle Pass, we show it here in our preview: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P3Ns78bgc8A.html
ok so 30 golems and 3 snake pets in total and y'all lost 2 snakes and 10 golems but you claim that was "easy" ok but well to be fair it took around 40 minutes, you had 3 people there, an army of damage absorbers (crystaline golems are tanks compared to fighters and archers) and this was one as a team with clever building vs a single player testing (like myself for example) building a defensible fort with 12 crystaline golems, 12 named archers with acid or noxious gas arrows at max level, 4 named fighters at max level and 1 named dancer at max level, a few explosive traps set up just inside the treasure room and just being the one standing in the treasure room to cut down any and all the demolishers whom comes through the doors i've done around 20 purges different levels and i've only gotten victory in 3 of them level 1 purge victory, level 7 purge victory and level a level 9 purge victory the other 17 were mostly level 8 and 10 purges that all ended as failures because the purge popped the notices of no pathway could be found, wealth deemed not worthy and this one that all the lvl 10 purge failures i got said this "the raiders have taken what they wanted and left" that message each time i got it was around 500-1k gold bars being successfully stolen by the purge and that took each time about 25-30 minutes my forces after 4 or more lvl 10 purges was dwindled down to just 1 golem guard left with like 100 health left and my purge fort was left in ruins and my single player file or server (which ever you want to call it) player and thralls damage dealt and receive are left at default so the difficulty is different depending on solo, server settings and in a clan with others on a multiplayer server
This was more of a Purge where we had fun with an unusual base and a golem army - an experiment to see what happens and how well the golems do. By the way, we only had one player in combat (we're a team of two), the other one was exclusively taking footage, all server settings were default. But it's interesting to hear about your different experiences and set-ups, at least it can be a challenge in a more realistic scenario and something to try and test with different scenarios if one wishes to do so.
@Pixelcave yea it was fun making seeing how to make it a challange but I'll be doing more build testing on single player before my friends and I do the whole purge levels as a clan we have enough gold bars in our clan treasury to do several lvl 10 purges but we are focusing on lvling our fighters and archers up to defend against the purge to the death providing that where we have our clan village built at will give the purge a few spots to build their camps
@Pixelcave but even though I personally don't think that your lvl 10 purge was easy due to how long it took and how many of your 12 casualties of that purge but I will say that you 2 had a bit of an easier time at defending than I did
this is my verdict too, so strange we must make comfortable base for attack, instead of most inconvenient base (as any base defense should be). New purge looks so fragile, i got purge cancelled after 1 wave because they cant break my gates... wtf? not even speaking about itself... Purge is supposed to be PVE base defending mechanics, random and unpredictable. Local tribes and beasts want you out from their habitat area. People build their bases in mind to hold the invaders even offline (army of thralls and pets finally gets purpose on pve). New purge just erasing all of that logics. You must build special base for purge, invite them, to get nothing new in particular (only 3 unique recipes). I wish they would improve old purge system to the addition for the new one and not completely erase it.
Based off what you demonstrated, having Golems guard the main entry to the treasure room all while it being essentially a choke point is extremely useful. I am curious as to what one needs to trigger a threat level 1 purge, as well as the highest level you can deal with. Either way, I can see some players keeping their wealth a secret, based off how long your Purge lasted.
