This painting is GORGEOUS!!! YES, I would LOVE to see more of this technique. It looks sooo fun. To learn and remember rainbow colors we are usually taught to use the name ROY G BIV. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.
There's another one too that my children used to say, I just can't remember what it was at this moment. They also taught me Never Eat Soggy Waffles that I use ALL the time to remember North East South and West LOL
Similarly, HOMES for the Great Lakes: Huron, Ohio, Michigan, Erie, and Superior. Funny what I can recall from grade school. Not so funny what I cannot recall as I age, lol.
@@kristinaandthegerman4554 I was taught the planets with "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" but with Pluto no longer being a planet, it doesn't work as well. 😛
Absolutely gorgeous. In answer to your question about remembering the colours, here in Scotland we use Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain. I have only recently started acrylic pouring but both you and Molly from Molly's Artistry are really inspiring me. Keep these beautiful creations coming as it brightens up these dreicht (scottish for wet and miserable) days xx
Thank you Laura! I haven't been to Scotland yet, but here in South-West of Canada (I'm in Vancouver) it's rain rain and more rain in winter, so yess - need some bright colors in my life 😆
My hubby is from Scotland. He laughs his butt off when I say, "You wee manky sod" to our cat..or any of my Scottish slang. He says it is hilarious hearing it with a southern twang! Lol
I absolutely love, love, love this one Olga💖💖 when you lifted it up and the light hit the gold, it lit up and it was breath taking!! And thank you for teaching on using a stencil on your painting...I have seen it on other paintings but never knew how it was done until now, and I love this idea because it gives it another element, another dimension💖💖
Olga, your easy way with paints and wonderful ideas just amaze and inspire me! Another beautiful piece that was a delight to watch. I'm sure people have told you already, but yes, our color reminder is the name Roy G. Biv. I taught my children, my students, my grandchildren, and they all remember it very easily! Thank you for sharing the color rhyme from your country!💜
LOVE this!!! Thanks for doing some mixed-media art, and I would absolutely love to see as much of it in 2022 as you can handle!! I've got a boatload of stencils waiting....
Hi Olga, it's absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about this piece, it looks incredible. Yes I would love to see more of this technique. Thank you so much for sharing your time, talent, and your creativity with us. As always my friend looking forward to your next video, kind regards Pamela 😘 ❤
Awesome, Olga! I love the mixed media. And the stencil is perfect. I will have to watch your tutorial about stenciling. I haven't had any success with stencils so I don't even try anymore. LOL I also enjoy watching your videos because of your beautiful energy.
You really make me smile. I love your creativity and your stories you share with your video and thinking process. Thank you for always sharing your talent ❤️
As kids we were taught that the rainbow was a man's name ROY G BIV. That is was the order of the colours, Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. 😊❤🙏🇦🇺🐨
Love your work!! Next huge fan! I'm buying supplies and wondering the difference between using floertol vs glue? Would appreciation some info on this please.. is there a video on mediums?
I really enjoyed this painting, I forgot how using stencils can create some awesome embellishments without much headache or stress! As always, thank you posting your creative process with us 💓 The kids learn ROY G. BIV over here in America 🌈😁
I would have nade the white area black or deep purple....then stenciled the gold over that... TIP for you : I do a lot of wall stenciling. Instead of using the gel to stop bleeding, I use Krylon repositionable spray adhesive...I get no bleeding at all. I buy mine at Micheals
What's happened if you had a little bit of silicone juice in the gold (with transparent gel medium, in the 2nd part ) and had it with the painting knife ???
Hi Olga, definitely I like the mixed stencil and pour and texture. I appreciate the vision you always have before you begin! The mnemonic in English for the rainbow is ROYGBIV. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. We learn it fairly young (in the US).
hearing you speak Russian makes me think about my Baba and Gigi that came from Ukraine. I know Russian is not Ukrainian but they have so many beautiful similarities. This is so beautiful. You seem so genuine and kind. Never change Olga.
We have ROY G BIV! My Mum taught us that! Love, love, love Rainbow colours! Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet! Wow!!! So beautiful, love the colours so much. Thank you for sharing! Amazing!!
OLGA, SO BEAUTIFUL. I WISH YOU COULD DO AN AFRICAN THEME OF THE SUNSET WITH ELEPHANTS IN THE BACKGROUND HEADING BACK TO ONE OF THE ORPHANGES. I SUPPORT H.E.R.D ORPHANGE FOR ELEPHANTS IN AFRICA . XOXO
ROY G BIV My kindergarten teacher also made a song 🎵 RED, ORANGE YELLOW GREEN BLUE INDIGO, ADD SOME VIOLET AND YOUVE GOT A RAINBOW. THEN SHE WOULD SING RAIIIIINNNNNBOOOWWW IN Elvis voice. So it stuck lol. Also, sorry my phone spazzed and yelled the whole thing at ya.
Our way, in English, is a name, each letter is a color "Roy G. Biv." Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. I love this painting. I like the stencil and "mixed media," though it really is all paint. Beautiful use of the rays. I like the gold going down through the colors. Just magnificent. Have a blessed day. Huggles Always🌈🌞 💖 🌲🎉🎊🪅❤🍀🇺🇲🦓🥄🥄🤗🌺🎼🌈
Another great video. A saying that helps you remember something else is called a mnemonic pronounced "nəˈmänik". The common mnemonic's for the colors of a rainbow, in the US, are "ROY G. BIV" and "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain."
привет Ольга This creation is really nice. I would like to see (the same theme), a black background, the sun-mandala in the middle and the colors of the rainbow making the turn. Conversely, the color would be finer at the ends to get lost (or blend) in the black. Beautiful day to you, Olga!
Hey Olga, I hope your well..... Growing up in England I always remember the song "Sing a Rainbow" by Peggy Lee from my early years......all us kids singing it out of key and badly.......but our parents loved it all the same 🤣 Peggy was an American jazz singer, songwriter and actress ..... you both have a lot in common being multi-talented 😉 "Red and yellow and pink and green Purple and orange and blue I can sing a rainbow Sing a rainbow Sing a rainbow too Listen with your eyes Listen with your ears And sing everything you see I can sing a rainbow Sing a rainbow Sing along with me Red and yellow and pink and green Purple and orange and blue I can sing a rainbow Sing a rainbow Sing a rainbow too" You have created another superb piece of magic and always professionally presented, you knock the ball out of the stadium every time. Stay Safe as Always & enjoy a Festive week ahead 🧡✨ ps. can you post your Russian poem so I can send it to my youngest who studied Russian language for a couple of years before doing her Art Degree.
Oh this song is so CUTE! hahaha it's perfect, I especially love the line "Listen with your eyes"- learning to do this with every painting :) Thank you so much!
Love this and yes, there is a little word/lettering/saying...to remember rainbow color order in the USA. ROYGBIV or Roy G. Biv is an acronym for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
Olga WOW. I love it so much. That gold that you used is so bold. Is it that highly pigmented just out of the tub or is it because of that gel layer that you did at first? I know you said the gel layer gave it texture, just wondering if it also somehow increases the saturation of the color? I’ve been painting a few flowers with the half circle centers right at the edge of the canvas, I haven’t been in love with the center of the flowers on the ones that I just did a solid color there. You’ve totally inspired me to do a stencil on them. Oh! I just remembered you asked about how we remember the colors of the rainbow, in the USA we learn the name: Roy G. Biv. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Thank you for always bringing such beauty and inspiration into the world. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Thank you💖:))) It's both, but that gold on its own is really amazing! Gel can make it glossier but won't make it more saturated as it dries transparent😉
I learned “Roy G. Biv” which stands for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. I grew up in Upstate New York. I LOVE this piece! I love all that color!!
I studied in India and yes we had the word- VIBGYOR (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red). I still use that word to remember all the colours but just that the appearance of the colours is opposite to what it is in the word. Means first colour is red......violet.
For the love of the chakras! I saved this video because I will be making something just like this. I've been in "practice mode" with craft paints and cheap canvas, slowly inching my way forward, preparing for the moment I graduate to more professional grade paints and try my hand at cradled wood panels. A chakra sun is on my list. A question, if I may .... and perhaps you already answered this, but why didn't you finish it with a layer of expoxy resin?
YES, YES, YES, more fluid art with stencils and embellishments. I had to laugh because I too have an accent and have to watch how I say sheet, cheat and can’t pronounce the drink “Arnold Palmer” (lemonade and tea), I’m asked, “say that again”… I love your work and I wish it was as easy as you make it look. Blessings to you.
I love your embellishment ideas. I’m not a paint artist by nature. My experience with art mostly deals with glass and mixed media but paint is quickly becoming a favorite. I enjoy videos like yours that make trying new things so tempting. RU-vid and the benefits of it, weren’t around when I was learning to make stained glass so I guess that’s why I sincerely appreciate you posting your videos. Thank you.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! You have inspired me so much! I was feeling blocked and I am releasing it all through each pour and flow piece I make!!! Thank you!
I remember the color sequence of the rainbow with the first letter of each color spelling what sounds like a name. ROY G. BIV for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. I love your creativity!
This piece is so Gorgeous!! Love the embellished gold! I was so happy to see so many comments gave you the Roy G Biv rainbow 🌈 reminder for English. It doesn’t sound as exotic as your Russian rhyme but it gets the job done! Lol 😉👍
In the states it’s Roy-G-Biv. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. It’s said as 3 words. Sounds exactly how it looks. This is gorgeous!!!!
Yes!!! In English we use ROYGBIV to remember the rainbow pattern. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet! I say it all the time when I'm doing Rainbow paintings
