New Rally-X runs on similar hardware to that of its predecessor Rally-X, and as its name suggests, it is a revised version of that title, which was released in the previous year. The only differences are that it has slightly enhanced graphics, easier gameplay, a new soundtrack, and a "Lucky Flag" that gives the player extra points for remaining fuel when collected, after which the round will continue if there are still flags remaining. The mazes are mostly identical, with some of the blocks from Rally-X changed into roads to reduce dead ends, and some different flag and rock locations.

While the original Rally-X (which was released under a Midway Games license) was a moderate hit in the United States, Midway only distributed this updated version in North America as an upgrade kit for Rally-X cabinets.

There's also a vertical version of rally X designed for vertical monitors. The One featured in the Namco Classic Collection Vol 1 is based off of that version.

@@mamefan Yes, naturally it's a Pac-Man conversion I'll have to send you pictures in a email. I need a new overlay for the control panel however the game still works I repainted the cabinet blue. I believe the Glob super Glob two different versions. I had to replace a cap on the board. The roms are stamp The Glob.

is it my idea, or your cabinet also changes the marquee depending on the game you are playing?

Yeah, it changes the marquee image for each game automatically as long as I have a marquee image. If I don't, it uses my hyperspin wheel image.

I usually use the latest version, so whatever was the latest version when I uploaded this. MAME is at 0.252 now.

@@mamefan Ah yes, I see now. I was wondering why the marquee looked like it was right on top of the screen. it looked kind of weird for a second there I thought maybe you had the live marquee underneath the regular artwork marquee .. but I was asking because it doesn't look so over the top huge the way it sometimes does on videos. That's what initially scared me at first from wanting a Megacade was it looks so massive compared to the user in a lot of videos but I think it's camera angles or something. It looks really good here. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get the marquee screen or not as that makes the price of the 'cade pretty high.
