See, this is my problem with this new Range Rover, or more specifically, “offroad” vehicles with stiff independent wishbone type suspension, that is set up mainly for highway use, NO ARTICULATION WHATSOEVER.. All good and well to demonstrate how “well” it climbs over smooth rock faces and hangs wheels in the air, but in reality the shocking lack of suspension articulation makes this thing look ungainly and out of it’s comfort zone while traversing that, or any type of terrain. Put this Range Rover side by side with a stock standard Range Rover P38 (the last REAL Range Rover) with proper live axles, and this new cars shortcomings will be immediately obvious. The only reason it can cross the obstacles it does is thanks to terrain response and a clever traction control system. It really does not possess any of the suspension setup traits that defines a true capable offroader. Land Rover has lost their way unfortunately..
