My third razor to try is a Wilkinson Sword Classic. Very similar to a TTO Gillette. Check it out.

Another great one, Heiko! I almost ditched that razor because I didn't like the blade feel with Wilkinson Sword blades. But then I tried it with Derby Usta and Treet blades, and it was a huge difference, really a different razor, so much more comfortable and smooth. So, it really goes to show just how much difference a blade can make.

The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3, better then boar cheaper in the long run, it is 29mm. i mic it' it's like buying a $275 Badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, NO SOAKING, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a Badger Hair or boar can, cheap to buy, I have owned it for 5 Years with no hair loss with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas

HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs" I Do any Shave Pucks or hard Soaps are going to work? You can mix and match old Soaps? to fit in any Mugs or Cups that you like to use. Like (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Shave Soaps just to name a few of the ones you could use?) Cut the bar soap up on a paper plate, pour the soap, shavings and chunks from your plate into a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, microwave the cup, put your paper plate under your cup in case it bubbles out of your cup? for a minute or so? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in place. after it cools, put it in the Sun, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap, making it easier to use on your face. For its (Price Point?)' (I use Dove Bar Soaps?) (the Use any Soaps Out there ??) Save your Money, spend it on your wife, don't listen to the shave Mafia. I have been doing this for the last 20 years. It saves me time and Money in these Inflationary Times Wheelchair Larry Happy New Year. @@Heiko-shaves

Hello Heiko, please have a look at the Timor model 1353 (very affordable) with its more traditional handle design and effective knurling. Timor razors by Giesen&Forsthoff are marked with "Made in Germany" on each of their parts. For a lot of experienced german wet shavers the Timor CC heads are in the middle of the road between Merkur CC and Mühle R89. Especially on the third pass the Timor is very smooth and more efficient than the Merkur CC. I'm sure sooner or later the Timor will come to you. Grüße Artur

Lathering technique is getting better every shave. I know a lot of wet shavers like to talk about how little soap they use to get great results (honestly I am a little envious of them, never works for me 😆) But once I realized i do this as a hobby, and i have about 15 different soaps, I just decided to use as much soap as i wanted. I tend to use to much, but i do get really good lathers, and I will probably be buying more in the future anyways, so I'll just enjoy myself. Love the Wilkinson, was such a surprisingly good razor. The Proraso Green has been in my kit for from the start. (I even add extra menthol to it these days) Thanks again for the German lessons! I only knew how to say the dumbest phrase ever "My pencil is big and yellow" And Germans always crack up when i tell them that. Now I'll be able to start saying random words about shaving and that makes me happy. Cheers

Yeah, the Wilkinson is a good starter. Lathering is truly an art. Enjoy the journey. I will keep the German words coming. Aufwiedersehen (will see you again)

I enjoyed your video, Heiko. The Wilkinson Sword TTO was the first razor I used when I started de shaving 6 months ago. I still use it, although three others have joined my collection ( Muhle R89 twist, Supply SE, Vintage Schick Krona). Enjoy your journey and keep the videos coming!

The Wilkinson is a rebranded Weishi (9306-P) made in China - it's a Super Speed knock-off obviously. It has a bit more blade exposure than the Super Speed so it can bite if used with too much pressure. I prefer the (rather sharp) Astra Superior Stainless (blue) and the (rather mild) Gillette Wilkinson (Saloon Pack) in my Weishi. There's a thread Weishi vs Super Speed on TheShaveDen.

They are definitely both pretty mild and smooth. I really like TTO/butterfly razors just for the ease of use. So the Wilkinson is a bit higher on my list.

I like the Proraso sandalwood, the Sensitive meh, and personally I don't like the menthol feeling on my face. I think you add too much water to the soap 😅. Greetings 👋🏼.

Zwei kleine Tipps. 1.

Vielen Dank nochmal. Gruß, Heiko
