New Remixed & Remastered Revolver Early Release Tracks Reveals a Beatle Mystery, and So Much More!
Hey everyone!
Many consider Revolver by The Beatles not only The Beatles very best album, but the very best Rock album of all time!
So far, there are 4 pre-released tracks that are available to listen to until next week when the newly remixed & remastered Revolver album by The Beatles arrives!
One of those tracks from the album, Taxman, I’ve already covered! The other 3 track are various takes and attempts of the songs Tomorrow Never Knows, Yellow Submarine, and Got to Get You Into My Life!
To see my Taxman remix review, go to:
• Comparing the New Remi...
Is there anything special about these tracks? Do they further uncover any Beatle secrets? Do they indicate anything special about the brand new remixed & remastered Revolver by The Beatles?
These and many more questions are answered in tonight’s video!
If you enjoy tonight’s video, please consider giving it a Thumbs up, as that helps the RU-vid algorithm better identify the channel to a wider & larger audience!
If you haven’t subscribed to the channel as of yet, it is as easy as hitting that subscribe to ‘The Tribe’ button, and then tapping the Top-Bell Icon, and you’re there! You’ll be notified of all my future video!
Enjoy!

@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Phenomenal and ingenious bass player! To come up with the idea to add a fuzz box bass part that had a completely different melody juxtaposing his non fuzz bass part on Think For Yourself was pure genius. This sounds like fuzz bass and considering it was recorded after Rubber Soul I’d say it’s just that - a Paul overdub on fuzz bass playing the brass parts!

One thing I could never understand is why Paul’s bass sound on the Please Please Me album sounds better than on With The Beatles, A Hard Days Night and Beatles For Sale 🤷🏻‍♂️. Even his bass playing on those early albums is outstanding if you listen closely. He definitely was never just a “play on the root” type of bass player even back then.

Great analysis. Can't wait for Yellow Sub Part 2! John's melody is the main course, Paul's chorus is the dessert.
@pkgannon
@pkgannon Год назад
first, the melody John comes up with is not the finished melody, it's in 6/8 time, and he has virtually no words except "in the town where I was born, no one cared". It is beautiful in this form no doubt. It's a wonderful fragment of an idea of the song. When Paul states it was "mainly" his song , he is likely referring to the chorus , the entire rest of the lyrics, the changed melody and the changed time signature. So, it still is probably 80 / 20 McCartney. But this is how they likely worked many, many songs and WE (the listener) are not privy to all that because WE weren't there. If John, himself says it was mostly Paul's baby than that is pretty much the answer. Suffice to say.. they contributed to each other song's more than we know.

My belief at this point is that the same Fuzz Box (Vox Tone Bender) that Paul used on “Think For Yourself” is being used on Guitar. If so it’s at this point not clear if Paul or George is playing it. If it’s a Keyboard of some sort it sounds like it’s being played through that same Fuzz Box. It’s all single note so I lean towards it being a Guitar. If you listen closely to the original mix the Horns are in the right channel and very faintly in the left channel you can hear the Fuzzed Instrument. It is a little bit louder on the second verse.
@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine
I agree with it being driven by the fuzz Box, Rick! What punch! I’ll have another, please!❤

It’s interesting that close to the release of yellow sub that it’s was described as two separate songs put together and yet for the rest of his life John insisted every time he was asked that it was a Paul song and Paul agreed. Now what we need is for someone to ask Paul to clarify, but of coarse they won’t and instead will continue to ask him the same tired questions and get the same tired answers.
@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine
Paul also claims writing the majority of Eleanor Rigby, however with Lennon, Mal Evans, and even Ringo supplying lyrics, ya gotta wonder! He also bought out Denny Laine’s interest in Mull of Kintyre, after Denny already wrote most of the verses! This doesn’t take anything away from Paul, because the man is a genius, but I think Paul just went for the easy claim because of John’s misremembering writing the song! John would every once in a while distance himself from songs, he later didn’t think were as good! So…❤

@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Yes! Such as 'Eight Days A Week' for example. The songwriting tape is revelatory. He may simply have forgotten about it. His memory could be hazy what with the drugs intake and all. It makes sense that John would contribute to a song for his friend Ringo. 'What Goes On', 'If You've Got Troubles' and 'Good Night' were also by John...'A Little Help From My Friends' a co-write with Paul. John would dutifully continue to write for Ringo in his solo career.

Its hard to know who wrote which parts because over time, different members claimed to have written the same parts or lyric. This is most likely just due to poor memory of a single day but it could also be ego. As t who played what parts - that is outlined in the the book "The Complete Recording Sessions" by Mark Lewisohn.

You get to hear how creative and prolific the Beatles were and how they collaborated with each other. Listening to this work in process of “Got To Get You into My Life” has made me love the song for the first time because to be honest, the finished version with all the horns, was never my favourite track off Revolver. Imagine how it would of sounded if it was a Guitar driven track like Paper Back Writer and Rain? I’m sure we are going to enjoy listening to the new boxset. 💜💜🇦🇺

I have a question about pitch correction applied to vocals. The answer will be an unsettling surprise to some and maybe others simply don't care. IT HAS BEEN WELL ESTABLISHED , at this point in time, that pitch correction is now being applied in real time to current live performances as well as current studio recordings. One of the "key" phrases to understand is the difference between "re-mixed" vs "re-mastered". Pitch correction software now has the ability to take master tapes recorded 50 yeas ago, isolate individual vocals, pitch correct them and then add them back into the new mix - one of the choices the engineer makes when "re-mastering". . One of the problems is that the general public has no idea at all that this is happening or really even understand what this exactly means. They just care that it sounds great. And I also find disturbing that this information is NOT being included when you purchase a "re-mastered" version. They really don't want you to know. Now I don't know whether Giles has pitched corrected the vocals, or not. BUT, If he has, then these new releases really constitute false advertising and "butchering" of sorts. Personally I don't want to hear John's voice pitched corrected. It simple it not real and hence not John. It is a mechanical, roboticized version of him. But I don't know if it has. And before some you you go off the handle and make the case that pitch correction is just another effect, like reverb or double tracking --- well --- your wrong. This alters the voice between the mic and effect that might be applied to it. So in the end, this could be a very grave error on the part of Giles.

I always personally had a “blah” view of Got To Get You Into My Life because of those annoying freaking horns. Those freaking horns ruined Lennon’s Nobody Loves You from Walls and Bridges and were annoying during Wings Over America which zI saw in Oakland Cow Palace when I was 15 yrs old. We took BART to get there, just me and a buddy of mine. BART was new at that time. We got there by mid morning and it was festival seating so staying in-line was critical. There was already a huge line but us two 14 year old punks cut way way close to the front of the line. When they opened the doors we ran like hell and got right in front of the stage… like we could lean on the stage. During the concert the Bedlam of the crowd pushed us back somewhat but it was insane for a 1st concert experience. We cut out before Paul could his final encore which Paul didn’t do anyway because he was angry at the crowd for a couple reasons, so we make the last BART return time. Paul was pissed at the audience because some dumb girl threw a wrapped b-day present for Paul at him while Paul was talking. The present hit the microphone which hit Paul’s mouth. Paul was clearly pissed off and said “thank you” and kicked the present off the stage and had someone bring him a towel to see if he was bleeding. Then, after 1st encore, Paul said he had a REAL SPECIAL SURPRISE for a guest and of course everyone thought “John Lennon” and we got a major crowd pushing and crushed and paul said Billy Graham and some people started booing and it was a real let down. I didn’t know who or cared who Billy Graham was. Anyway, we had to run like hell for the BART station and barely was able to leave Oakland to go home that night. I can’t believe my parents let me do that but times were so much more innocent back then. Crime felt rare. It was not the hellhole it is today.
@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine
I was there, brother! It was the best concert I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Queen, Yes, The Who, Montrose ans many more! Absolutely a magical night!
