I think you can try bringing down the sharpening and it might reduce the flickering more. I think it could be over sharpening now. Like on the chrome on the back of the truck and the chain link fencing.

G'day Jerry, Yes I thought that would be the case too, so I tried it and it just softens the graphics but has no effect on the flickering at least not with my settings etc. 🙂

The meta right now at least for me is SMAA + TAA at 300% render resolution. It really does get harder to run but it looks really nice especially if you use DLDSR which gets even harder to run 😅. They could do a better work with the anti aliasing for sure, but at the moment its way better than before and doesn't hurt my eyes

G'day DΛVY, Yes it's a great improvement and like you say it can be better and I think once they implement DX12 and the new engine it will be just that. 👍

@@roanegamingNew engine. . . have you seen the game files? This new engine aka new core has been in since the Beta release. Correct me if I'm wrong but SCS is not completely switching to some new game engine. They are tweaking Prism3d to implement some features and improve performance.

@@southboundtp2067 You are right, it isn't actually a totally new engine but a new generation of the current engine "Prism3d" which is their in house game engine. They are working on implementing many features to it including multi core functionality and are gradually introducing these features so they can make sure they don't cause the game to be unstable etc.

I have updated my ETS2 to 1.50 and its refreshing tbh to see less shimmering than before even at ultra settings and little bit disappointed because no new trucks with the new update

G'day Arundas, It's great to be able to drive around without the strrobing, yes I thought they might add some new trucks like the new Renault Electric at least but maybe soon, fingers crossed. 🙂

G'day BananaStixZ, I haven't because I set up a completely new profile for the 1.50 beta with no mods or map add-ons so that I could test it as a fresh install, however I am starting to add mods gradually and will look into adding maps too and once I have tested them I will make a video showing the results. 🙂

G'day crazygeorge, A lot of people have reported the same thing and it has been discussed over at Steam. This is a quote from Wolfgang " Delete the config file and try again. Make sure that the resolution setting in Windows is matching your screen. " Hope this helps. 🙂

Actually between TAA and TAA and SMAA the latter is better. Less strobing.

what graphics card u have ? i have a rtx 3060 ti graphics card , do i need to use smaa + taa?

G'day BEELZEBUB, I have a RX 5700 XT 8gb, as far as what settings you should use - SMAA + TAA is as good a place as any to start however I suggest that you carry out a similar test to the one I did in this video to find the best for your setup. 🙂

4070 here. I use SMAA + TAA. I think I settled on clarity over soft or sharp with 300% scaling. I hope this continues to get sorted out because there still is tearing and flickering going on, not to mention the blurriness. It's a step in the right direction but not as good as the other guy's TAA. . .

@@southboundtp2067 Yes it's a work in progress so it will definitely be improved. Snowymoons TAA was great in 1.49 I actually did a video on it however I can't compare it in the new 1.50 beta as it crashes the game if I use snowys taa.

G'day ya mum, I'm not sure what you mean by ffs, to me it means for f**k sake, however if you mean my force feedback settings then it was just trial and error, much testing until the feedback was as close to IRL as I could get it. 🙂

G'day Nexe, Yep it's creepy alright, but I think it's just a couple of my mods that need updating and once they are the textures should be corrected then no more pink, fingers crossed. 🙂

G'day Frans, I disabled that a long time ago after testing all my graphics settings to find that it was best to have it disabled, however I just tried it out on 1.50 and found that I can't see any change or improvement in the graphics having it on or off, so in my situation I see no visible benefit in using it, others may find it useful. 🙂
