New Report Confirms Joe Gibbs Racing Misled Fans on Kyle Busch Leaving and Is Paying Price Today

This time last year Joe Gibbs Racing officials were insistent they wanted to bring Kyle Busch back in the No. 18 car for 2023. As we all know, that didn't happen and the two-time champion left and took his talent to Richard Childress Racing.
The main speculation about what led to the divorce was JGR was unable to find enough sponsors to pay the driver. Globaldata released a new report this week - The Business of NASCAR 2023 - that provides an analysis on the current business landscape of the sport, and includes various statistics such as sponsorship revenues for individual teams.
The numbers show Busch's new team well ahead of his old team and confirm that finding sponsor dollars for the future Hall of Famer isn't as hard as some JGR officials might have suggested throughout the months-long saga.

Part of it sure. Ty being cheaper probably has a lot to do with it, but it probably has to do with Gibbs not wanting to commit to a long term contract with a value that Kyle is worth. The amount of money these drivers make are in for a serious overhaul soon, and Kyle, Denny and co are probably the last of an era that can still ask for it. Why pay Kyle 15m a year, perhaps more with his truck development team, when you can pay Ty 1. You virtually free up an entire sponsor with that kind of money. Kyle even said last year the contract stuff would have been done quickly if it was just him. But he had KBM to think about too

Your all extremely simple. Including the research for this video that fuels an already common yet delusional narrative by an extremely slow demographic. Gibbs will post higher sponsorship revenue then other teams because they field more cars throughout more series then teams like Hendrick or RCR. More cars equal more drivers and thus more sponsors...and thus more sponsor revenue😮🤯. The biggest failure of this “report” was omitting the comparison of OPERATIONAL costs among the teams and calculate the delta between revenue in, revenue out! Ya know, The kinda stuff the teach us in 5th grade. This video and alleged evidence is So incredibly inept. The data you used is also estimated and based on speculation as the teams are private entities and don’t openly disclose these internal numbers. The centers numbers on nascar broadcast revenue is fairly accurate but that’s because they work of readily available data. Kyle Bush and Gibbs lost their primary sponsor. This wasn’t a secret. Then Kyle bush asked for a salary that was beyond a reasonable expectation for any current nascar driver. His ask wasn’t reasonable based on basic mathematics. Even if he won a dozen races and a championship KB wouldn’t have earned the salary he deemed himself worthy of. He asked for way way way more then he accepted at his current team. His win total nor his performance the season sure as hell don’t justify the money he was asking. Maybe if Larson made the ask. The reality isn’t that complex as long as you don’t suffer from brain worms. But you can’t expect people to comprehend basic business principles when they struggle to calculate change at the counter. They certainly lack the intellectual capacity to interpret what’s required to run a team at the magnitude of cup. This video was pointless as the population spread made its mind up. Your just gaslighting for views which is pathetic. Pushing content to fans Feasting on some delusional rhetoric and thirsty for a conspiracy. They are slow. They are a social media society. If a junior high student made a thesis on this data I’d give them a pass. But an adult made drew this conclusion. No I’m not a Gibbs fan. I just have a few functional brain cells unlike the rest. Also, Gibbs offered KB multiple options on future sponsorship revenue and performance bonuses in attempt to keep him. He declined. If he landed a large sponsor he would get a pretty significant chunk of cash. If he performed well he’d get payed (the way all drivers should get payed). Only a mindless boot licker would consider this some betrayal. Someone to busy with a bobbing head to take a second. Stand up, brush off his dusty knees, lean on KB for support and look at the facts. Not to mention the fact that KB wouldn’t have a career or his win total if Gibbs didn’t originally save his αśš. Kyle got greedy, he wasn’t and isn’t worth it. Get over it.

It’s hard to take your vitriolic take seriously when you use improper grammar on the VERY FIRST WORD and then quote the video suggesting JGR has so many more sponsors, which the video clearly states is not the case.

it just shows that the sport is really not difficult. You need money for the best equipment and sponsors. Combine that with a little practice, and as long as you have a couple functioning brain cells and aren't physically handicapped, you're good to go.
@Allstargamer1000
@Allstargamer1000 Год назад
I think that article is untruthful. Kyle moved to a team that already had sponsors, and JGR had to find new sponsors. JGR has a tendency to go after big sponsors like Bass PRo or FedEx. Rcr had small sponsors already aligned to the 8 car. Wasn't like Kyle brought sponsors, and JGR is still winning without him. There time ran their course and split.

I kind of felt like that was the deal the whole time with Ty Gibbs coming up. Fact of the matter is you can only have 4 teams not 5 and someone's gotta go. I like both drivers Ty and Kyle and no love lost for Ty. Bad loss for Joe in the long run and most importantly Toyota. I see them not even being in Nascar in the next 5 years. Same thing happened with Dodge towards the end.

IF you are a fan of NASCAR and pay attention to drivers and their teams it usually is clear when drivers and teams are coming to the end of their relationship, and it was pretty clear KYLE and JGR had come to that point. Its reasonable to assume that his pay played a large part , But he earned what he got, LIKE HIM OR HATE HIM THE MAN CAN DRIVE A RACE CAR.
