Why are these people handling these treasures with bare hands?

Hi Mary Ann, we haven’t used glove to handle precious book like this for many years now. It has long been best practice to use clean and thoroughly dry hands, because the sensitivity of touch in our fingertips are a vital tool in helping us to prevent damaging or ripping the previous parchment. Gloves deaden this vital sense of touch which we rely on to keep the book safe. Who was the other notable woman who owned a copy of that book? They said they would discuss it in another video but I don’t see another one with Kate McCaffrey.

Why are you handling a 500 year old book, one of four that exists, without white gloves? Aren’t you afraid the oils in your fingers can damage the ancient paper?

I am stunned by the ‘professionals’ at Heaver not using gloves when examining older documents! Lesson 1 in archival preservation- Archival Gloves! Never touch documents, illustrations, photos, -anything without them...Ever!!! You know this. I applaud her discoveries, and also greatly despair of the damage now done towards the disintegration of these precious documents. I’m so disappointed and sad over the damage done to Anne’s legacy. Please start saving these and other works now. Please.

I'm confused 🤔 3:05 "4 of the 5 were woman." I'm from America and I thought it was 4 if the 5 were *WOMEN!?!?!?!* Am I missing something? In the UK do they really say that? Different grammar rules maybe.

If this is actually an authentic book of Anne Boleyn, why would you not be wearing archival gloves when handling such a historical piece of literature???? Good grief...this is ridiculous.

I AM HORRIFIED! 😱 Why are they fingering that book like rappers at a Kardashian?! I was given a pair of gloves in my wedding album package. Now I’m divorced I wish I’d touched it with peanut butter fingers all these years- but this is not my wedding album!!!
