in my personal opinion after it came out that Justin roliand wasn’t actually being abusive I feel like they shouldn’t have fired him over allegations and it was his creation his characters to characters the va aren’t able to give the emotion that Justin have besides the fact Justin got actually drunk for drunk Rick😂

I have no idea what really happened with roiland, and tbh, i don't care. But Roiland did so much more than just "voice" those characters. He improvised half his lines. It's not going to have close to the same manic energy as it used to.

It bothers me that it's not him. But I can tolerate Morty sounding different more than I could tolerate RICK sounding different.

The voices are accurate enough but it's missing the timing and rhythm that Justin Roiland brought to the role because he could rip and make stuff up as he went along. Now it's just actors reading lines.

I want to be pretend outraged, but the show hasn't been great since season 2. I think more creators should pretend beat up their girlfriends once their hit show has fallen off.

It is absolutely sickening what happened with Justin Roiland. I will not watch any more Rick and Morty if the network decides that this is how they're going to treat the creators. Roiland was carrying half the show with his voice acting anyway, there's no way they will find a good replacement. Edit: Just got to the part with the new voices, they're actually kinda good. Still not gonna watch it tho, on principle.

the network knew about the assault charges for years, that isn't why they dropped him. the stuff about him sending inappropriate texts to minors is why they dropped him. he was hard to work with too

Y’know the funniest crap about it is that people always blame bad reviews on “review bombing” and tell people to “cut it out”, but if a bunch of people say the show is becoming pretty shit, then it probably is. People don’t review bomb without a reason, and that reasoning can differ from legit review bombing to actually just thinking the show has become a complete crapshoot of Full House x Family Guy.

Morty sounds like he just has a high pitched voice now. His OG voice sounded like he was a teenager who's voice was at that awkward phase as it transitions to drop.

I'm not gonna watch it anymore. Not because of this Roiland business but because the last few seasons have sucked and I can't imagine replacing Roiland with these simulacrum could possibly improve things. It's just gonna get more and more safe and non-offensive, which is the opposite of what we want but exactly what the corporate higher ups want.

The end of trailer where the voices are in the ship and rick yells "Rick and morty we'reback baby", feels so off and different it cones off like a knockoff. The soul of the show is gone. Just let it die. It's been uneven a while now even with Roiland

Both voices sound modulated, like the actors don't wanna ruin their pipes so they're holding back a little bit. I think they sound very very close, but not the same...again, only because I know that there's been a change. If I didn't know I would have chalked it up to a different recording method.

I like to take a neutral stance when it comes to allegations. These allegations could be true or could be false. But I agree with Vito that you kind of need a "cool down" period before you make a come back. Also, I think the only reason morty sounds different is because we're looking for differences and over analyzing it.

Upon relistening, the new VA’s actually sound almost exactly like the season 1 versions of Rick & Morty.

The Rick voice was dreadful in the opening scene of the trailer. Sounds completely different to me. His normal register sounds okay but when he's being loud it sounds god awful.

Well, from what i'm hearing here... Rick sounds alright. But i think i'd be able to tell it was a different guy doing it. Obviously already knowing it's a different guy doesnt "help" in the fairness department. Like you said, he seems to be missing that energy.. Morty... oof... Kid finally hit puberty, but sounds like they reversed time on him 5 years or so. Missing a lot of the morty-ness... not sure what to call it :p Would have to see an actual episode to build a good opinion about this.. i'm hyperfocused on their voices for this video, so it's bound to stand out. But him just not freestyling some stuff could potentially leave quite a few holes in the feeling of the show.

It's interesting that you found the Morty voice to be more off than the Rick one. Most of the people on the trailer comments we're saying the opposite. I think it's just because we're all hyper fixating on the voices. If this was a random promo or if no one knew, then yeah, I don't think anyone would notice.

judging from the trailer, neither have roiland's verve. valiant effort, but unless the storytelling outweighs the clear discrepancy, the season is going to have a slight limp-one i'll learn to live with, but always know is there.....

End of season, the reveal is it wasn't the regular Rick and Morty we follow. In fact, I'd be awesome if at the end they revealed the Evilest Rick was running a simulation to try and understand good Rick, and that's why Mortys voice is off.

I'm glad he still owns the shows As far as the voice acting I think the new voice Of Rick As a voice actor myself for more I practhe less you try to sound like character and the more you start just acting and delivering lines so I would say give them both of you a chance I feel like this shows not going to last very long It seems like they used that some of the best ideas early on

I do wish the show just ended at season 2 besucase then it would have been a near perfect show that you could recommend people watch with no asterisks or warnings about bad episodes. Like even tho it’s not my favorite cartoon I think Gravity Falls is one of the best cartoons ever made because it’s short and consistently great from beginning to end. Its a show you can actually recommend to people to watch all the way through and they likely will. Rick and Morty could have been that.

I hate how Justin was treated and continues to be treated, there was recently an NBC article demonizing him for looking for hookups. The closest bad accusation in that article was one where a girl said he forced himself on her, but considering she herself admitted the first thing she told him when he messaged her is ask for him to buy her stuff and fly her to LA, her accusations aren't very reliable. What do you think a man wants when he says yes to that before he knows anything about you? Then there's also the accusations of him talking to minors on TINDER, but the people making those accusations admitted he'd leave them alone until they turned 18. He is literally not doing anything wrong, he was just looking for hookups with girls, and these people are acting like he's some sort of predator. What the fuck is a 16 year old doing on tinder?? That's the question everyone is too busy throwing shit at Justin to ask.

I think it's easy enough to do the rick voice, but for a guy to pitch his voice way high to do a Morty is much more challenging. Guys basically have one falsetto range. I think they're balancing between needing to over-modulate it and make it sound obviously fake and just letting it sound like a completely different guy. Definitely missing some of the zip/zinginess. I want to say maybe he will improve as he gets better at doing the voice, but do we really want to wait for Rick and Morty to get better?

Morty is a little to high and talks to fast for Morty. There is a guy online called bedabbler and he can do a much better Rick voice.

Justin Roiland has been a very self destructive person since the beginning of the show. Dan Harmon loves Justin but it's one of those things where you love your friend so much you have to give them space to do their own thing. There's 2 episodes Justin Roiland is a guest on for Dan Harmon's podcast HarmonTown and on both of them Justin is drunk beyond belief and on the 2nd one he has to be edited out and you can hear the distraught in Harmons voice having to deal with it. Justin is an alcoholic and a very self deprivation type of person so its no surprise hes taking a step back. It's sad but true. I hope everything calms down and we hear him come back for the role. They changed his voice in Solar Opposites as well which was abrupt but understandable

Both Rick and Morty sound slower, like the voice actors aren't as confident in doing the voice and are slightly taking their time instead of just speaking naturally with it because of the time and experience. Hopefully it goes away at some point but its there for sure right now.

Yeah, he's a great creator, but yeah he was a real asshole, too. It's ironic that he was one of these pro feminist apologizers and they're the ones that did him in. Hopefully it'll be a learning curve for him. But there's no way I'm going to be able to sit through Rick and Morty listening to those voices. They threw the music in on purpose to try and distract people from hearing it, but I can definitely hear the difference. In Rick, the lack of grittiness, the lack of studdering, Morty was obvious. They're ripping the heart and soul out of the characters. They better bring him back next season, or it might end up being cancelled. If I can hear it through the music, the fans will too, and they're not going to like it.
